  1. Yeah mate, see a couple of posts up for photos: http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/367338-diy-universal-lip/?p=7167621
  2. If you want to get some ideas for a modded setup here's what I have: JJR 3" bellmouth dump/front – customised (to ensure good fit with my Hypergear IWG, and for ground clearance) Venom 3" high flow metal cat – flows much more than the XForce I had first Custom 3" piping between cat and mid muffler Small mid muffler – for good ground clearance HKS Super Drager 3.5" to 5" rear section and muffler It would have been cheaper to build a full custom system rather than mixing and matching parts over time but oh well. Also full second hand systems for the sedan are like hen's teeth.
  3. +1 going great. I scuff it every now and then and it just bounces back. Seems to hold its shape really well. The way I use the car this is a much better solution than a hard lip. Obviously you wouldn't get as much if any air flow benefits from a soft lip, but then again my guess is that a proper smooth undertray would do much more than any lip could...
  4. For highest performance you'll want a full turbo back including dump, front pipe and a high flow cat. I'd offer a couple of other requirements to add to the list if I may: Properly fitted and tucked in for maximum ground clearance, there's nothing worse than scraping your car or mid muffler on speed humps all the time Not droney at standard road speeds 60, 80, 100, 110 The cheapest may not be the best. I have a full frankenexhaust mixed from random parts, it fits well and performs great but is droney and probably ended up being more costly this way too...
  5. Hi Joe I've got the following but you might be looking for the other end...? R33 GTS-t manual coupe tail shaft rear part Pics here: http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/444714-fs-r34-gtt-automatic-gearbox-and-parts-mbc-fuel-pump-tension-rods-manual-parts-mel/
  6. Since you've got a GTT base car I'd recommend going with a turbo box. The power bug inevitably bites and you'll kick yourself later if your put in the weaker N/A 5-speed. R33 boxes are easier to come by but are older/more abused than the R34 ones (surprise). Clutches for them are cheaper. R34 boxes have a better heat sink built into them based on side by side comparison photos. R34 boxes can be converted to a push style clutch by replacing the bellhousing with an R33 item from what I've read. R34 auto ECU can run a manual car no worries. Same goes for a Nistuned auto ECU. Factor in some $$ for buying a manual harness or splicing into the auto one. Also this thread is your friend: http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/139916-diy-r34-manual-conversion-using-r33-parts/
  7. For sale a full set of four Maxxis Victra MA-Z1 tyres in 225/45R17 i.e. R34 GTT standard size for the 7.5" rim. "Summer Ultra High Performance based on [Maxxis] competition drift tire" Tyre information: http://www.maxxis.com/catalog/tire-66-victra-ma-z1 Product reviews: http://www.productreview.com.au/p/maxxis-ma-z1-victra.html The tyres are used, in good condition with heaps of tread left, about 5-6mm on all four. This said, if I'm reading the tyre correctly these are pretty old so probably best for drift/skids. Asking $60 per pair, sold as a set of four Pick up only, tyres are currently up in Bendigo but I can organise transport to Melbourne near Essendon. PM or enquire here. Cheers
  8. I had Intima SS on my R34 GTT (IN1170M-SS and IN1220M-SS) and melted them on a hilly drive near Black Spur, no good. Upgraded to Remsa (0348.02 and 0365.02) and they are going great on the street and around Sandown with DBA T3's. Hard to beat for value, you just have to be prepared to put up with the dust, they are very dusty.
  9. Back on topic, some GTT weight reduction estimates from here: http://www.skylineowners.com/forum/21-tuning-technical-questions/172043-r34-gtt-weight-reduction-loss.html
  10. Thanks mate, I think they're different due to different size and shape door. I've now ordered the sedan actuator from interstate, just waiting for it to arrive.
  11. Not sure about a Recaro but my Sparco Sprint V sits pretty high (= higher than stock) on a 'low mount' Bride rail, bottom mounted. Stock R34 GTT rails are super low, not sure if it's the same with the R33.
  12. Faulty CAS would be my guess too, I had a pretty similar experience: http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/326043-resolved-misfire-in-r34-gtt-rb25det-neo/ I reckon RB25's actually come with misfire built in, never seen an engine with so many things that could cause a stutter...
  13. I've ordered one of these, should be pretty easy to run through the seat trim and then hook onto that, fingers crossed. Also can be folded away when not in use.
  14. If the car is in good nic and this is just for fashion, don't do it. If you really must, you could also consider a sell -> buy?
  15. Won't work unfortunately, I've got the kids in the back normally so it needs to stay usable
  16. Cool stuff, looking at bit wide-eyed at the 0:38 mark in the 2nd vid What happened there, lost traction when jumping the kerb? It happens mad quickly when it happens eh
  17. Ok seriously awesome clips over at http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1124595 Mental car mate, I wish I had a spare 85k. GLWS Edit: Looks like the car is in Perth for anyone looking
  18. ^^^ Yep this is what I'm thinking. Tossing between the 225 and 235 sections at 45 profile ... Is 235 too wide for a 7.5" rim? It's still within spec according to the Hankook tables but I'm wondering if there are any adverse effects on handling on track from slight 'bulging' on the rim?
  19. I had another another look at this today, it's a bit trickier than I thought. I cut a hole into the seat foam - didn't cut the fabric just yet - to get a feel for how it might work, see below for photos. The harness eye bolt is located in a spot that covered by a thick piece of seat foam so it sits deep, about 10 cm. This means that I won't be able to get the Sparco hook directly onto the eye. Does anyone know if there's an extension clip/rod (?) and where I might be able to find one? I mocked up how this might sit below. Also I'm still after some ideas on how to hook in/secure and protect the fabric around a 25mm hole once I cut it. Photos Sparco harness eye bolt and hook Extension rod mock up Seat foam pass-through hole Seat foam pass-through hole Seat fabric that needs to be cut ... Lastly here's a 'side belt extension' I found online that could theoretically work: or this 6" bend angle bracket (I suppose one could make this too)
  20. My Bride 'low' bottom mount rail for the R34 still sits higher than OEM, turns out that the Bride front 'legs' are longer. I'm not sure if the Bride side mounts are lower than the bottom mounts. Good luck
  21. Brilliant thanks mate! I was hoping to go 235's but might have to stick with 225's due to the width as I'm running 20mm spacers on the car.
  22. Digging up an old thread - can a PS cooler be too big? I fitted a Davies Craig for my auto box back in the day and have gone manual since - do you reckon I could reuse this as a power steering cooler:
