Bc Racing Br Replacement Shocks
V28VX37 replied to dori34's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Digging up an old thread. Does anyone know availability or cost for replacement shocks for BC BR? One of my rears has started squeaking and it's really starting to irk me. -
I had no trouble whatsoever with the R34 OEM rubber intake pipe @ 199rwkw. Then again, I think a highflow should take you beyond 200rwkw fairly easily? I'm now running Scotty's intake pipe @ 257rwkw, it looks good and works great.

Thanks mate, however I'm still looking for the Origin items so that the wings match. I'm after the lip instead of the bigger OEM spoiler but thanks anyway.

Also get in touch with scotty nm35 here, I believe he's running E85 on his Stagea.

The Automatic Thread - Questions
V28VX37 replied to tripsteady's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I recently installed a Davies Craig Hydra Cool Transmission Cooler (Part No: 678), read more here: Auto Trans Cooler Upgrade Easy install (although you'll need to remove your front mount first) and seems to work well. -
An interesting watch: 'Vice - Boy Racer: Fast & Furious In The UK'

Have you had a read through the Guilt-toy thread yet? Stacks of E85 info there: Guilt-toy Now Running On E85 I think you've got the basics covered, although injector and fuel pump sizing depends on the other mods you're running. 650cc should be ok if you're staying under 300rwkw. You'll obviously also need a programmable ECU and a good tune, Nistune is a good option. The other things to consider with E85 are 1) is it available near you and along the routes you typically drive and 2) are you happy with the reduced range compared to PULP (probably 20-30% less)? I considered E85 for my setup but decided against due to the latter.

Thanks guys. I've never found 'kms to a tank' a particularly accurate way to measure/compare economy as fuel tank sizes vary and nobody lets drives tank completely dry. Without a fancy trip computer the next best thing I know of is to fill the car up fully every time and note down the odo reading, then subtract from previous reading and calculate that way. My fuel gauge has always been temperamental and I can fill about 40 litres when it shows close to empty. However, I just read somewhere that the GTT tank is 65 litres (can someone confirm?) so there should be plenty of juice left...

Yeah well, I was Definitely much happier now that it's not permanently in the high teens! My previous 290rwkw N/A V8 was in the mid 20's around town so the Skyline fuel efficiency is certainly a lot more civilised than that.

This is a continuation thread from here – I posted the original in the wrong section: Less than a month later, here's my fuel economy figures (l/100km) from the three most recent refills (all freeway and country driving): 11.9 10.8 10.3 Not too bad at all.

This: Yeah I hear you paulr33 but it's too much of a hassle to transfer everything across. Plus I know my R34 and its idiosyncrasies well now, it'd be starting from scratch again with another one. Not to mention that good condition factory manual GTT sedans are still rare as hens teeth and pricey, which means that I'd pretty much have to import one. It's just too much effort.

Hi all, I know it's a long shot but I'm after the following: Origin boot spoiler for R34 4door Origin roof wing for R34 4door Must be perfect fit for R34 sedan and genuine undamaged product, the colour doesn't matter. If you've got one or both please PM photo of the actual item plus some photos of it mounted on your car (rear and top view) if you can. Also include asking price posted to VIC metro. Thanks!

From memory the pre-load was set before installation but will double check. Thanks Stao. Cool thanks. I wonder if my V2 is just a temperamental unit ... I'm tempted to swap it over to a V1 or a Turbosmart boost tee, or even a simple EBC like the Gizzmo one. However I will check the pre-load setting first.

Heh, ok. Sooo ... I have almost decided to get a manual conversion done at Advanced Jap Auto Imports in the west. I'm planning on getting a new clutch, most likely the NPC organic. Is there anything to look out for with the conversion? Any tips to make it all to go smoothly?

Hi Stao, what boost controller would you recommend for ATR43-SS2 internally gated with the 20psi actuator? I'd like to get the boost up to a steady 20psi. I am currently running a TurboTech V2 MBC and when the car was tuned (257rwkw @ ~17psi) my tuner commented that they had some trouble tuning with it, something to do with the adjustment. They suggested a simple TurboSmart boost tee instead if I wanted to keep with a manual boost controller. However, I'm wondering if I should go electronic instead - are there affordable yet good ones out ther? Thanks

Track Control Link Arm
V28VX37 replied to kyle345's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Nope - that's what the factory R34 caster/radius rod looks like on my GTT (bottom one): My factory ones are bent similarly on both sides too (mirrored). I have no idea why yours would be different on one side compared to the other? -
Running Without A Boost Gauge...
V28VX37 replied to colourclassic's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Interesting. I am running TurboTech V2 MBC and originally bought it as several articles suggested that the ball & spring design is better than a bleed valve. However, both times the car has been tuned (originally 199rwkw @ ~11psi, now 257 @ ~17psi) my tuner has commented that they had some trouble tuning with it, and recommended a basic TurboSmart one instead if I want to stay with a MBC. Perhaps I should go electronic... More on topic, I have never had a boost gauge as my GTT came with the navi unit instead of the triple gauge cluster. It would be good to have a reading but I don't want a big gauge either - can anyone recommend an accurate but affordable digital one? -
Just got another Invision kit from Autobarn. It works well but doesn't last forever - my lenses were ok for about a year or so with the car virtually always garaged. Autobarn also sell the Meguiars kit for a few more $$. Would be great to know if there's any real difference between that, Invision and Glassylite. Also, if anyone knows of a longer lasting UV sealant let us know.

That's a long list of mods to run untuned. What superben said, get a Nistune and have someone reputable tune it all properly. Besides the AAC valve you could also check that your CAS is ok (can cause random issue like breaking down at higher revs if busted) and maybe even the O2 sensor.

Should Coilovers Be This Hard To Adjust?!
V28VX37 replied to NZa31's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
I've had similar experience but in the front, BC Racing coilovers being hard to adjust on an R34. Rears spin easier. The only way I've found to make it a bit easier is to move the LCA up or down slightly, I've used a separate jack under the wheel hub when the wheel is off. It seems that there is some vertical tension in the whole suspension assembly that you have to get out in order to make adjusting the height easier. I'm also keen to know if there's an easier way? -
Black R35 on Citylink northbound near Flemington tonight. Personalised plates, aftermarket exhaust, sounded sweet.
