For sale: DeatchWerks DW301 300LPH in-tank fuel pump Direct replacement for R34 and probably others E85 compatible Comes with plug Used condition, see photos below I bought this from another forum member together with injectors but decided to go smaller since I won't be running E85. It came out of his car running E85 just over a month ago. Asking $90, pick-up preferred (inner Melbourne). PM if interested.

Cheers Greg, your injectors work great as you can see! And with toughening up/rebuilding the box, hopefully I'll do it just once Thanks Stao, also for your help in picking the turbo for this application. I think you were spot on with your power estimate actually! Interesting. I spoke with the guys at Chasers and apparently they did a run without the snorkel and lid and there was only 4 or so rwkw more in it, so hardly worth it. Cheers for the input everyone. Btw I worked out some driveline loss figures today: the stock flywheel kw 206 returned 150rwkw (on 98), which is about 27% loss. Assuming the same loss percentage the new 257 rwkw would be about 350 kw at the engine. Not too bad for a 15 year old unopened engine

Cheers Scott, and thanks again for your help in preparing for the build! Yep I think the airbox itself fine, just wondering how far the snorkel will go. And yes no slip just flaring especially on that 1-2 gear change, which will need some attention soon.

Rb25 Turbo Upgrade, All Dyno Results

Here's some results from a fresh install this week. The car is an R34 GTT automatic (Tiptronic) that originally had 150rwkw stock and then 199rwkw with basic bolt-ons, a bit of boost and Nistune. The setup: Hypergear ATR43-SS2 internally gated on stock manifold Stock airbox and snorkel K&N panel filter Z32 AFM Scotty's 3" intake pipe Trust turn flow intercooler Turbotech V2 manual boost controller Yellow Jacket coil packs NGK BKR7EIX spark plugs regapped Deatchwerks 800cc injectors Walbro 255 LPH fuel pump JJR 3" bellmouth front/dump (modified) X-Force high flow cat 3" HKS Super Drager cat back (modified) Davies Craig Hydra Cool 678 auto trans cooler Nistune Result: 257rwkw @ ~17psi, BP 98 Octane Installed and tuned by Chasers This is a fairly conservative tune. The car needs a better boost controller, possibly a pod intake, and a shift kit. The 2-3 gear change is ok but 1-2 is flaring and not getting power to the ground. It's definitely a much bigger turbo than the stock one, which affects the response. However, when it goes on boost it pulls great. The installation is fairly involved as it's a very tight fit: there's maybe 2mm between the actuator and the chassis. A lot of the intake, intercooler and exhaust piping needed work, too. So if you're looking for a true bolt-on at this power level definitely look into the high flows as well

Interesting ... I've got the RE4R01B Tiptronic box in the GTT, still stock but trying to work out what to do with it. You reckon it's no good to handle ~300ish rwkw even with a rebuild and a KEAS kit? Also, is Paul in Melb by any chance? Interested in having a chat. Cheers, and sorry for the hijack..

Diagnosing Suspension Knock.
V28VX37 replied to Pure_Sincerity's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Good thorough description, tough one that. It may be a case where the most obvious thing (coilovers) is not at fault but instead highlighting an issue somewhere else in the suspension. Couple of things worth checking that came to mind: What suspension tops are you running with the new coilovers? Are they substantially different to the previous ones you had? Sway bar link pins can get noisy, have you checked these? When I was installing my aftermarket tension (caster) rods, they came very close to the aftermarket swaybar when the car is jacked up. Could these be touching? Are your swaybar bushes ok? Is the knock simultaneous on both sides? The root cause for my suspension knock was incorrectly sized crush tubes in the aftermarket tension rods that were loose around the OEM bolts. Never crossed my mind to check for like this before installing. With the coilover being iffy to put in, I've found that you may need to adjust the LCA height a bit to line it up correctly. I've used a scissor jack underneath to just lift it slightly. Good luck. -

C'mon Stao you're killing me, having bought a regular price SS2 just last week Great prices people, get on em!

Hi all, I've got an ATR43-SS2 going in the car next week, it's an R34 GTT. I understand it's a bit of a tight fit, are any of you guys running the OEM heat shield (or an alternative) with this turbo?

Auto Trans Cooler Upgrade
V28VX37 replied to so_tred's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Here's some photos of the auto trans cooler install on an R34 GTT Tiptronic auto. As per above, it was a very straightforward install as I just replaced the stock cooler with the Davies Craig Hydra Cool Transmission Cooler (Part No: 678). It was $139 from Supercheap Auto, and I also got a 'pod filter bracket', which I modified to suit. There was very little fluid coming out of the original cooler as per the photos, so I didn't even need to top up the ATF (recently serviced and sitting slightly above MAX). The car had been sitting for several days prior to this, maybe that is also why the cooler was fairly dry. The only issue was getting the original hoses onto the new cooler as the fittings are slightly larger, it took a lot of pushing and swearing. The install itself took probably two hours, however if you have a front mount be prepared to take it off. This means removing the undertray, front bar and reo for hours of entertainment. Useful threads: Taking Off Gtt R34 Front Bumper Sydneykid's Stagea Transmission Cooler thread Auto Trans Oil Cooler thread with some good points on thermostats (if you a very large cooler you may need one) Pics: Original transmission cooler: Original transmission cooler off and fluid out: Size comparison (note the DC cooler is about 2/3 of the thickness of the OEM unit): New bracket in place: New cooler installed using original hoses: Clearance between transmission cooler and intercooler: -

Turns out it's pretty much plug and play, just needs a custom bracket. It's a good fit and no clearance issues with the front mount either, just need to move the horns out of the way a bit. I might post some photos once it's all back together and tested properly. -

Auto Trans Cooler Upgrade
V28VX37 replied to so_tred's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I had another look at the stock auto cooler on the R34. It's bigger than I thought, the core is 32 x 112 x 220mm. The DC 678 core is quite thin at 20mm x 281mm x 184mm. If my calculations are correct, the stock cooler is only 20% smaller than the 678, which seems like bugger all... I'm wondering if the R34 had a bigger cooler from factory than the Stageas? -
Auto Trans Cooler Upgrade
V28VX37 replied to so_tred's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I am also looking at upgrading the auto trans cooler in my R34 GTT so digging up this old thread. It looks like the one people use a lot is the Davies Craig 678 (the one in this SydneyKid's Stagea thread). Has anybody used the bigger Davies Craig 679? It's a substantially larger core but is it an overkill, would it even fit? Also, can someone please confirm that cooler 2 in this photo is the auto trans cooler: And just out of curiosity, what's cooler/heat exchanger 1 (basically just a single bar loop)? Thanks guys! -
Anybody else used these guys? Especially for the R34 Tiptronic auto box?

Makes sense - where do I get a full o-ring set for this kind of price? Kudos sell them at $11 plus P&P for a pair - each...
-
Spot on Artz, I was after just a flow test, not cleaning. I'm sure the price would have been different for a full clean. Birds, I got them to visually inspect the supplied o-rings, all good.

Resurrecting an old thread just in case anyone else is googling the same. I just had a set of injectors flow tested by Injectorsonline in Springvale VIC, good quick service at the right price, recommended. Worked great by post, too. I got a quote from someone else at almost $40 each to test and service, which doesn't really make sense with a second hand set...
