  1. Anyone else using the TurboTech manual boost controller, what are your experiences? Looks like AutoSpeed found them good value for money but that was back in 2005.
  2. Very nice and some awesome numbers there, very respectable for 91 octane too! Is it still right hand drive or have you converted it to LHD? Are you guys allowed to drive RHD imports over there?
  3. Saw an R33 GT-R midnight purple with very nice white Rays Engineering wheels on Brunswick St Fitzroy last night. Anyone here?
  4. It's not a direct fit and will need modification. Have a look at these threads, there's some pics too: - Exhaust System Lengths On R34 Gtt Sedan?, Modifying R34 GTT Coupe or R33 GTSt system to suit? - Installing Jjr Bellmouth Front/dump Pipe On R34, Who's done it, any advice or tips? It's certainly doable but what exactly is required depends on the exhaust. The pipe lenghts are slightly different as well as the mid muffler location (I think). You'll probably also find that aftermarket systems don't necessarily follow the same 'path' as the stock exhaust so that'll affect things too. I reckon a second hand system is ok to modify but I certainly wouldn't buy a brand new exhaust that'd need to be hacked up straight away to fit
  5. Hey mate, that's exactly what I thought a while back when I decided to get an 2nd hand R33 coupe cat back for my R34 sedan. Have a look at these two threads: - Exhaust System Lengths On R34 Gtt Sedan?, Modifying R34 GTT Coupe or R33 GTSt system to suit? - Installing Jjr Bellmouth Front/dump Pipe On R34, Who's done it, any advice or tips? I my case the exhaust shop charged about 3 hours labour for modifying and fitting a full turbo back. I reckon a cat back only should be about half of that. Cheers
  6. +1. Also please no 'k's to a tank' approximations but calculate your economy properly You'll probably need to go through a couple of full tanks of petrol after servicing too before you can get reliable economy figures.
  7. That would be druzilla32's, no?
  8. Cheers - any idea on what a set of KYBs goes for?
  9. Thanks for the tips blind_elk, I might look into the KYBs at some stage, perhaps even keep an eye out for a second hand set. Firm suspension is fine, as long as it's comfortable. I've been to a couple of cars with super stiff coilovers, they handle like go carts but aren't really ideal for buzzing around town and picking up your groceries in
  10. What was your previous power level? If you went from say 200awkw to 300+ (measured on the same dyno) you should certainly feel it.. but if you had high 200's already then obviously the difference is less pronounced. Also, are you getting all those 315kw to the ground alright, how's you traction levels? Perhaps try borrowing a set of semis off someone and see how those feel? And as the old saying goes, "more power is never enough"
  11. Hi all, I got a set of second hand King Springs on R34 stock struts recently on the cheap and slapped them on the car. I did read through quite a few threads advising against lowered springs with oem struts (like this) so it was a conscious choice thank you very much:) The drop is spot on (22mm front, 43mm rear) and the car sits nice and level now, see below. The ride is not too bad, although a bit harsher than stock as one would expect. Not surprisingly the fronts looked like they might leak and did exactly that, so I pulled them out and swapped the Kings over to the original struts. All good for now, but it's probably a question of time when they start leaking too (100k old struts FTW). What shocks would you recommend as a replacement once these ones let go? Requirements: - comfortable ride, the softer the better really (it's a daily) - shortened, to suit the springs - inexpensive I'd probably prefer doing all four corners at the same time. What do brands like KYB or Pedders go for these days, for a set of four to suit an R34 sedan (eyelet fronts, fork rears)? Any other budget shocks out there? Before you ask, I am not too keen on proper coilovers due to $$$ plus the car won't see any track work. I love my yellow Konis / Kings / swaybars on the weekender but that's too much of an outlay in this case. Thanks guys. Btw the current part numbers are as follows: - Front: Nissan 56110-AA101 (8079) shocks, King Springs KDFL-101 X - Rear: Nissan 56210-AA110 (8708) shocks, King Springs KDRL-61
  12. I sprayed mine with WD40 over several days both hot and cold. I think for that particular bolt I used a universal joint and a small ratched together with some 15mm metal pipe for leverage (one of the legs of my tripod light ). I think I broke the ratchet in the process but the bolt came loose in one piece, yay. See this thread for some further discussion.
  13. Thanks SS8_Gohan! Yeah there was a bit of umming and arring over the colour choice but I'm glad I went white in the end. I reckon the lighter the wheel colour the bigger it looks in contrast with the black rubber. I was also in a bit of a rush to finish spraying that Sunday them and decided not to mask the Nissan logo on the centre caps, got a nice 'whiteout' effect with that

    Car Ramps

^^^^ Now THAT is brilliant, well done!!
  15. Cheers dude. Yeah my bad with the parking in the first photo... Also need better weather, better gear and moar skills. Excuses excuses
  16. Some fresh shots of the daily, wish we had some proper sunlight though:
  17. Yes, and it's good: R32/33: Replacing Shocks / Installing Coilovers, D.I.Y. Takes half a day to a day to do it yourself. At a guess, a workshop would probably charge 3-6h labour or so - quite easily be more than the parts if you're getting them real cheap.
  18. Done, about time too! Apologies for the photo quality, we've been a bit short of sunlight recently... Cheers
  19. Ok here's how they turned out, I went matte white for the wheels: Apologies for the photo quality, we've been a bit short of sunlight recently... I can't say I'd recommend DIY painting though, it's a lot of work. But I'm happy with the results
  20. I thought for a second I was looking at my car ... Another silver R34 sedan with white wheels, love it!! Now considering deleting weather shields on mine, looks heaps better without.
  21. 99% confident they will, pretty sure I've seen a photo. Some pics of R34 GTT wheels on an R32 GTS-t.
  22. Second that, in fact I've got a mix of these in my car now. TriniGT if you have access to RB20DE Neo check if the coils have HANSHIN MCP-1440 written on them and look like the photo below. If yes they're exactly the same as RB25DE/T Neo coil packs. I never had any visible damage to my coil packs, however some of the replacement ones I got (2nd hand OEM) were busted when I tested them for correct resistance. Also have a read through my misfire thread here, it may give you some pointers. Mine is still getting a random stutter on idle, I am planning on re-checking vacuum hoses and cleaning the AAC next.
  23. Strange, I thought I got that one open & tightened fine with a long socket. Or maybe I used a uni joint. Can't remember...
  24. Ah yeah forgot to say, anyone looking to heat wrap their front/dump I'd only recommend it if yours is stainless steel. The heat wrap catches a fair bit of water when driving in rain and can remain soggy for quite some time. It'll probably make normal steel rust in no time.
