Steve while this thread has your attention, do you have the wiring diagram for the R33 auto ecu? I have read in your other posts to get the gearchange working properly i have to tap into the TPS and tacho signals of the auto ecu? I just want to confirm if this is all thats needed? Cheers Matt -
Thanks for your reply SK. I have been doing some searching and i havent been able to find anyone that has done this on a rb25 before..... If a set of GTR cams can be had for $250-$300 and ill be generous and say $400-$500 for a install and tune why havent more people done it if theres a 20-25kw increase to be had? It seems like a good kw to $$ upgrade to me. id be interested to hear anyones results Cheers Matt

So to do this all you need are the rb26 cams and rb26 intake cam gear (i got a hks ex gear)? Is it a worthwhile upgrade? and what kind of power can be expected from doing this?

hey ross im having the same problem........i have my car tuned now and i get a couple of slight misfires at 12psi, no where as bad as it was previously but its still annoying. Im using the bcpr6es and it was suggested to me to try them at 0.6 too, i cant think of what else is doing it other then the coil packs as i dont use a afm now, changed fuel pump, changed plugs from bkr7evx and all hoses and connections are fine.

I have a wolf3d in my auto skyline and its getting dyno tuned tomorrow........the gear changes arent that bad but it does hold the gears a bit longer and 1-2 is a little more jerky. I have read on this forum that if i run 2 wires from the wolf3d loom to the auto ecu and tap into the TPS and tacho wires it will shift fine. I have been searching for a wiring diagram for the auto r33 ecu but i cant find one, so i dont know which wires to tap into......if anyone has the diagram ill be able to try this and know for sure.

I used the map steve sent me, the ignition maps were quite a bit different to yours. Have you got ur ecu in the car and completely tuned? So you did fix the gear changing problem by tapping into the TPS wire of the auto ecu? I havent caliberated the TPS yet, where in the pc software do i do that?

40kw gain id be stoked with that Dyno tune will probably be next week depending how quickly i sort everything out. My car is hard to start now but that can be due to a number of things, the bosch fuel pump needs to be primed before it will start and i have to setup the fuel modifiers correctly. I hope the plugs dont get fouled from the rich starting. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the r33 auto ecu? I need to find out which wires are the TPS and rpm signal Cheers Matt

hey guys strutto and i put the ecu in today and its great. It was pretty damn easy to install, only had to run a vaccum hose from the engine to the ecu (for the map sensor) and then plug the ecu into the loom, after that we loaded the map to the ecu. At first the car wouldnt idle. So we increased the richness by 15% and it idled great. We tried to lower the richness but the car wouldnt start then. But i have a feeling there is alot of caliberation that is meant to be setup to help with this, as we had trouble setting the air temperature and we didnt set the load caliberation table etc. The car blows a bit of black smoke when it starts as its getting way too much fuel into it but that only lasts 2-3secs while the car is starting then when it idles it goes away. Im still reading how to over come this, as there are alot of fuel modifiers to play with. The gears from 1-2 is jerky and then from 2-3 it seems to hold the gear much longer then the stock ecu and sometimes i have to take my foot off the accelerator for it to change to 3rd. I also have to push the accelerator further for it to downshift too. Apparently this can be fixed by running the TPS and Tacho singal from the ecu to the auto ecu. I havent tried this yet as it was getting late. Performance wise the car runs like a rocket, when i floor it the car is very smooth through the rev range and pulls much harder then before. Im only running stock boost too as i havent sussed out the boost control yet. So i still have alot to play with but its been great learning how it all works and im sure with more time and playing around with settings ill have those problems sorted. Then it will off to the dyno for a final tune Im just hoping it will start tomorrow morning on a dead cold engine Cheers Matt

hey mate i got a auto r33 with 181rwkw on my last dyno tune. Im putting a wolf3d plug and play like u in next week and a hks exhaust cam gear. Do u find the wolf is jerky with gearchanges? or is it still the same? Id be happy with 200rwkw but im more concerned about what time ill put down the 1/4 when its tuned Also have u done anything to the auto box? I have looked into a shift kit which i will get in the near future and also a bigger trans cooler. Maybe you should consider a trans cooler first. Id definately do the dump/front pipe, the stock one is pretty restrictive as well as 550cc injectors. Might also want to think about a set of cams at this stage too... Have u done the 1/4 mile on the mods u listed? if so what time did u get? Cheers Matt

and to you abu i do know how to drive a manual, i just bought this car as it was a hell of alot cheaper then all the other skylines at the time. I have suprised a few of the manual boys so dont be quick to write off the auto as being shit

I have recieved the maps, thanks for your help all Sydneykid from what i have read from other people that have used this ecu in their auto skylines, they havent had a problem with the ecu except for the gearchange to be a little jerky. Maybe Steve can give a bit more of a insight on this? I really like the software that comes with the unit, its really easy to understand and navigate. I cant wait to get this baby fired up now Cheers Matt

Hey guys Im about to buy this ecu and i need to know about the boost control with this unit. I know i cant just type in what boost i want to run on the ecu with the standard R33 gtst soleniod. So if i get my hands on a avcr soleniod and use that in conjuction with the wolf3d software, that will give me complete boost control the same as any other EBC? I dont want to spend a few hundred on a EBC if i dont have to if this method works. So just want to confirm if anyone has done this and it works ok? Also i want to know if anyone has any base maps they could send me? I wanna have a go at installing it myself and if i could have a base tune to get me started that would be much appreciated. My mods are 3" turbo back exhaust Pod FMIC bosch 040 stock boost Cheers Matt

what about this adaptor plate? http://www.horsepowerinabox.com/HPIAB2/prod39.htm Is this all thats needed to make this turbo fit a rb25? Then the oil/water lines need to be made up and thats it?
