Thanks. I might give meridian a call. I'd prefer to stick to a bolt in for reasons of resale value. Also easier to remove if I get hassled by the cops. I only wan't it for the track, but I guess an engineering certificate will be ineviatable.

Thanks for your help. It's a good starting point. Did you have a cage made for a GTR. I see they have kits for evo's and wrx's but no mention of gtr's. Do any of the vic boys have contacts?

I've been trying to find a bolt in cage to suit my 33 GTR. I'm wondering if anyone distributes them in Melbourne. I would prefur to buy in melb just in case there are any fitment issues. Does anyone know of cusco distributers etc that could source a cage? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Warren

Yeah, don't think the 100 is going to cut it. Worst thing is, a stock exhaust wont cut it. A few years back they changed the rules. Instead of testing cars at 4000rpm or so, they decided to go for engines at around 2/3 of there RPM range. That means that a stock GTR is not street legal. A standard exhaust will still need a few extra baffles/mufflers. By the way, the money talks website is awesome. Not that I google this sort of thing.

Its an aluminum partition around the pods, with a stainless steel top to seal off the engine bay air. It also has a cold air intake pipe that collects air from the front spoiler. Also cold air is drawn from the factory front guard hole. Sorry, i haven't got a photo of the cold air intake.

Yeah, I too thought about the 6 speed from R34's. The ratios of gears 1-4 are closer and seem to handle more power. However it also means changing the diff gears to suit the gearbox. Much cheaper option will be an aftermarket gearset.

Anyone got experience/feedback using the aftermarket gearsets such as OS?
