  1. Sorry I didn't mean to denounce you at all, think you've misunderstood me. I didn't call it "cheap" or anything, it's just that I expected it to be a little more expensive considering the method they employ. It's great that you've put all the effort into organising this, I by no means am taking this away from your effort or questioning your knowledge itself. Sorry if you've taken it the wrong way
  2. Interested, however can you give us a little more insight regarding the "company" that you've spoken to? Just wondering since they "manufacture" carbon fibre parts for F1 and race/rally cars and that itself seems a bit farfetched for the relatively cheap ballpark figure for that standard of work. Would be helpful to generate more interest I'd suspect
  3. Nice write up, looks great! I've got a set waiting in the garage to be fitted on - I was planning to put them on together when I get my wheels, but I think you've convinced me to put them on ASAP!
  4. No I'm pretty sure the NISMO and Nissan Aero kits are the same - for sedans. I think you are mistaking it with the coupes since their optional Nissan Aero consisted of a front lower spoiler/lip and the rear wing, whilst the NISMO kit had a complete front bumper, skits, rear pods and different wing (the larger one). Officially it's known as the factory Nissan Aero kit, but the guys over in the US refer to it as the "NISMO" kit. Andrew my car is sparkling silver. I'd be happy to let you check it out! Just PM me
  5. Great thinking! I'd too would stick to that car IF it was fully fixed knowing the chances of that happening again are slim to none (not ruling it out though). The CVTs are really great for what they are. You haven't seen any sedans with the Nismo (officially Nissan Aero) at all? I'd say you haven't been looking hard enough! I've already seen 3 sedans with the Nismo aero alone.... in ADELAIDE (not including mine )! They're also all the earlier series with the "doggy door" whilst mine's the later version with the revised boot!
  6. Sorry if you misread but mine CAN change "gears" when cold, just took it for a quick spin then! I've never tried gunning hard it cold since it feels weird at start up but just mildy did it then when it was still cold and yep - can change gears. It doesn't feel as powerful and solid like you said until operating temp. Mine's a 01/2004 build date, so I'm assuming it's the later CVT. What are the differences between the earlier and later CVTs? One thing that has interested me (and i'm too scared to try) is that if you gun while it's cold in manual mode say in first, then upshift, will the revs still rise or would it drop (like it normally would when warmed up) then rise again? Fingers crossed everything's resolved with your car Andrew without too much coin spent.
  7. Hi mate, I don't think it's a problem with your trans. Everytime I first start up and drive when the engine is cold, the car will keep revving (ie. it doesn't switch to the second lobe - where the revs drop and rises again) upon acceleration. When the car's warmed up (temperature reaches halfway), the revs will then drop and it'll be normal - where if you are at a standstill and accelerate, the revs will rise then drop as it switches to the second lobe (my theory anyways). I think it's a precautionary measure to protect the trans. Mind you I never take the car over 2000 rpm until the engine is up to temp, and it might totally be unrelated since you mention it's fine after a certain distance (4km)..
  8. Hi mate, got any close up pics of the buckle? Can it be repaired? Very interested if you consider sending them interstate.
  9. 5012. Willing to pay that little bit extra to cover postage!
  10. Hi mate I know you prefer pick up, but would you consider delivering interstate? (for the 350z shocks+springs)
  11. Hey mate, got a 350GT as well! Main North Nissan does my servicing, it's the same service schedule as the 350z but prices are same as the maxima's BTW Tien I'm keen for a cruise sometime. OH yeah turns out we both know Steven (from DC!)
  12. Excuse my ignorance but I thought the fronts were already rolled from factory? Unless you meant removing the inner fender "protector" things and rolling it further since those plastic fender covers are screwed onto the guard... I'm planning to fit a 9.5" +22 wheel up front with around 1-1.5 degrees negative camber and 225 tyres, do you reckon it's possible without removing the fender covers? I'm almost certain it'll rub at full lock
  13. No it's not exactly a Nismo edition, nor the body kit being a Nismo. It's officially known as the Nissan aero kit, a factory option I believe. The exhaust is known as V.S.S - Variable Sports Exhaust, another factory option. It's a bit difficult finding more information about it though. The switch is located on the lower left dash, below the steering wheel (at the same height where the VDC/boot switch are, but on the left side of the steering wheel instead of right-if that makes sense).
  14. Nice! My exact twin in Adelaide! There's no distinct difference in noise between the NISMO and the normal stock exhaust...though it gets more growly if more throttle is applied. Maybe it's just mine but there's also no difference when toggling the exhaust switch between the "sport" and "silent" modes..
