Need Lightened Flywheel for R32...Have Clutch
VSPEC32 replied to GILTY's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Funnily enough, I was just about to post a similar item. I too am looking for info on lightened flywheel's, specifically for an R32 GT-R. Want to stay with a standard (albeit uprated) clutch, but would really like a lightened flywheel. Any info would be appreciated. Gilty, are you saying in your post that Just Jap have lightened flywheels? Cheers Brendan -
Well, although she's not on the SAU forum, my wife drives the family GT-R on a everyday basis. Wine Red R32 GT-R with kids in the back. Still to come to a cruise, although we did drive (seperate cars) at the SilviaWA/SAU joint cruise the other week. Cheers Brendan

I can personally vouch for this bloke. Fixed up a few difficult to reach dents in my old GT-R and will be calling on him again to do some on my new GT-R: Rod Daniel (Technician) Dent Wizard Australia Pty Ltd Mob: 0409 700 022 Email: [email protected] Approx. cost per dent (fold/cash) was between $30-40. It's best also if you remove the inner trim prior to him getting there, that way he doesn't have to waste his time doing (which means less cost). Cheers Brendan

FS:: Genuine Nissan GTR sideskirts - MELB
VSPEC32 replied to inark's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Could you please confirm whether or not these are the standard GT-R skirts or the Nismo version that kicks down at the rear section. Thanks Brendan -
We'll be there. I'll be in the Silvia and Leilani will be in the GT-R. I know it should be the other way around but it's her daily driver not mine. Should be interesting with the PowerFC and Boost Controller being installed on Tuesday. Cheers Brendan

Andrew Give Tammy Fazio a call at Silvalake (they're an insurance broker) - I've insured my last and current GT-R with them at a half way decent price: SILVALAKE FINANCIAL SERVICES GROUP Ste 7/1297 Hay St Perth WA 6000 (just next to Miss Mauds upstairs) Tel: (08) 9481 3855 Fax: (08) 9481 3866 Cheers Brendan

BoOsTeD_RB26 We were staying at the Emerald Lodge. Think we were just going to pick our kids up from my sisters place just out of town. My wife was asking why people don't wave at here when she's driving the 'R (which is the majority of the time). We were down for Amberly on Sunday, but they cancelled it (fookers). You from down that way or just visiting? Cheers Brendan
-
Thanks for letting us know. Unfortunately I won't be able to make it to this one. After driving down to Margarets last weekend, we're pretty much over driving distances for a little bit - especially with the amount of fuel that the 'R goes through. Will keep an eye on the events section for the next one. BTW, should able to keep up soon if I manage to get the Apexi setup I'm wanting (PFC, HC & BC). Cheers Brendan

You've got me too Gav - well at least the wife who drives it daily. Was anyone down south on the weekend with a black GT-R. You went passed on Walcliffe road.

When you say late R32, would this include models from 1992 onwards?

Few interesting bits....

Get back to me on the PM I sent you. Thanks. -
Summoner I've seen the Gun Metal grey one that Ken has and it is indeed a very nice looking 'R. Has all most of the Nismo bodykit options too (rear lip, side skirts and I think N1 ducts - clarify that Ken). For under $30K it would be a great deal and a good place to start your 'R ownership. Don't forget though that on top of that you'll need to add license and rego, plus insurance. Cheers Brendan
-
I've always found the keypad option in the car should make things safer for your car. Had one in my previous 'R, have one in my Silvia and just waiting for another to come in for my current 'R. You can set them up to arm automatically or punch in the code to arm them. Cost is about $250-$300 installed I think. Then if by some chance they managed to get your keys, they're not getting anywhere. Gives you time to wake up and get them while they're trying to figure out why the car ain't starting too. I'm in the same boat as Rhino - both cars in a carport where a rolladoor is not an option. Cheers Brendan

Time to ditch RAC, which insurer (I'm not a pimpley faced kid)
VSPEC32 replied to rev210's topic in Western Australia
You'll find that brokers have a different set of criteria than the retail area of the insurance company. And agree with the shop around theory. Don't waste your time with the bigger companies as majority (with the exception of Western QBE by the sounds of it) have a no imports policy nowadays. Cheers Brendan -

You could give Silvalake Financial Services Group a call. They're an insurance broker that have insured my last two GT-R's. My first was costing about $1500-$1600 for about $45K coverage. My current one is $1080 for $26K. I am over 30 though so that helps, but have found them to be cheaper of famous by a coupla hungy on the last quote. Speak to Tammy at Silvalake and she'll take care of you: Ste 7/ 1297 Hay St Perth 6000 Tel (08) 9481 3855 Fax (08) 9481 3866 Cheers Brendan BTW, they are underwritten by SGIO. -
Hehe. 31 in March and already onto my 2nd mid life crisis - I mean Skyline.
-
Well they're coming down in price and most just need a good tidy up to get into top condition. This red one has a few small dents and a little paint work required (door mirrors are quite bad), but it's cheap to have small dents removed and basic painting done and worth it when the car looks the goods. I did have some problems with one of the AFM's, but that's fixed now. Of course a future mod will be to go to Z32 AFM's to help the turbos breath well, but that won't be until the PFC and BC are in.
-
Yep, that'd be me. That was a top car which now resides in your home town of Melbourne. Pretty much showroom condition with the right amount of mods. Unfortunately is was just costing way too much (being a rare and top quality V-spec). This one now will be modded a fair amount over the next few years (along side my Silvia). Having the Nismo turbos already in makes it just bolt-on parts now to get the best out of 'em. Cheers Brendan

Thanks Gav I think Mat P was looking at going for a small cruze on Sunday so maybe you can come along. We'll be putting the family in th back and going for sure. Cheers Brendan:)

Here's a few preliminary photos before getting some in a nice locale. Cheers Brendan
-
Tempted? Of course, who wouldn't be. But a little too far out of the price range. We weren't originally going to get another R for some time, but the opportunity came up and we took it.

G'day Brett. Nice to meet you. Glad to help out the missus see the light. The grey/blue one you saw the plates on was my old 'R I sold last year. Was costing me too much. This one was bought as a replacement to a Camry Wagon, which although a good car, we (or I) wanted to get back into an 'R. The wife is very happy with it too. I must say though that a 4-door is definitely a requirement for kiddies until they're walking and able to climb up into their own chairs. This is mainly due to the child seat needing to be put in upright and not in the lay down position for infants. We did try that once or twice in the old 'R, but the front passenger was a long way forward. You can check out my previous 'R on my web site (see sig). Cheers Brendan
-
Yep, brought the plates out of storage and put onto the 'R. The cabin size is considerably bigger (mainly length) than the Silvia. And the boot's a little bigger too. Had basic pics taken yesterday, will post up once I get them (mate took them). Cheers Brendan

Well, I wasn't expecting to be posting this so soon after selling my last one (R32 V-spec), but here I am. We picked up another R32 GT-R yesterday from C-Red. It will predominantly be driven by my wife (with kids in the back), so if you see a red wine coloured R32 GT-R with Buddy Club P1's (Hypergold) on it, give her a wave. Number plates are VSPEC32. She's on fairly stock condition at the moment, with the only mods being K&N filters, Exhaust and a couple of Nismo turbines. Power is a little low at this point because the turbs are only running at 0.5 bar and they probably only start working well around 1.0 bar. The P1's are brand new 17x9's with some basic (but new) Nankang 255 section rubber. Keep an eye out for this one over the next couple of years. Plans include PFC and associated Apexi EBC. Brake upgrade (I'm wishing for some Brembos as were on my last one), suspension, clutch, pump and injectors. Anyway, keep an eye out and say g'day. Cheers Brendan
