Melbourne is cold, wet and boring, the only good thing to have come from there is the Casino... even then i can loose my money in Star City.... I got nothing good to say about that place apart from it being apart of Australia. QLD better then NSW? GTFO, the only good thing about QLD is the weather and even then it isnt always that much better... The drivers better? the drivers in QLD must have been taught by blind school kids because jesus you lot are crazy... NSW by far and away the best, with only 1 fault... its expensive as all hell to live in, but oh so much better. Maybe if QLD payed there own way then NSW could be fixed up a bit. One more thing to the QLD's... the so called best origin team, lost to the worst orgin team ive seen.

Importers We Trust
-FIGJAM- posted a topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
Hey All, Alright, i look through this section time after time and see the same questions asked over and over. I think we need a sticky thread or something decent so that new members and new buyers can just have a quick look. The importer that i used to get my R33, was Japstyle in Landsvale NSW. Salesmen's name was Loc. Top yard they have, very clean cars and decent prices. Any help that ive needed with the car, they have been more then helpful and have not charged me a single thing for it. Cheers, -
Haha thats true because it can "damage your application" or something along those lines... ok let me rephrase, did anyone look into applying? i was going to but ran out of time... thought about it for too long...

Check out JapStyle in Liverpool. Website is www.japstyle.com.au . Nice yard, tidy cars, go in and speak to Loc, he helped me out. Cheers, -
Yea i understand both sides of the coin believe me. Now we dont have clients coming in all the time, and when we do we are on our best behavior. I know it prolly sounds like we are acting like a bunch of zoo animals but it isnt as bad as what it prolly sounds. Yea we may have a joke with each other now an then and call each other gay or whatever, or say a mum joke, whatever its all in good spirits, but then if it goes too far... it just sucks that this is what the world has come to.

i wont be able to make this one cause play soccer on a Friday night, sorry guys.

I am in the office with the girls, however the office is dominated by males. I dunno, i think perhaps the political correctness is a bit over the top now days. I cant blame the bosses if we are in the wrong under those acts, nor shall i. I just dont think its right. Speeding can take a turn for the worst and kill someone, me calling a mate a fag isnt going to kill him. Unless its true and he kills himself.... Not able to read a catalogue? that seriously is f**ked!!
-
I think its a bit harsh that they are stopping us talking to each other ho we would in normal everyday circumstances. As i said none of us take offense to what we say to each other, but if we are breaking the acts then there isn't really anything we can do. I believe that it is a joke that i cant have a laugh with a mate but its how the world has become. No i work in an office so rules i guess are different, even if they shouldn't be. Ill just have to bite the bullet and go along with their rules because they are the boss not me, its there business not mine. I guess Ned Kelly said it best before they hung him "so its come to this? Ahh well such is life". If i can't take the micky out of someone, so be it. Ill just have to do it on the sly or look for another job. Cheers for the feed back guys, very much appreciated. I thought the acts only worked if someone was the target of discrimination, not just because someone gets offended by what is said.

Its good to see that some people have the same view as me. And just to clear the air, no i dont think that just because im in the reserves that i should get away with what i want, but honestly if i slip f**k out does it really matter? we arent even talking about older women here, they are in there 20s. How have i carried on? Im 19 years old, swearing is something that we do, if i cant talk to a mate and say oh f**k yea or even if i for some reason drop a computer on my foot and i cant say f**k that hurt, then i think the country that im prepared to fight for is going up the shit. How i want to talk is up to me, im polite, but if someone doesnt like what i say to a mate then one obvious solution comes to mind; dont listen? I dont see how ive carried on.. ive tried to be honest here when im askin for people's opinion and tell the honest truth, by the way we act and talk around our office. Havent just tried to say my story, like i said, its not just sayin ahh ya poof, i cant say anything about him... regardless because as the girls say its not nice. but its alright for them to turn around and call someone who doesnt work in our office a retart... where is the justice?
-
I understand what everyone is saying, that they are offended and i wasnt sure if the way work was going about it was correct or not. Thats what i wanted to clarify. Yes people are offended, so ok we have to stop. So im not aloud to call a mate anything because it doesnt matter what is said someone can and probably will find it offensive. As for the language, i dont go around saying f**k this f**k that, what the f**k stupid c**t and what not, im talking about when shit hits the fan or your frustrated you cant say a thing. I guess the 40s are back and ill have to start saying golly and dang nam it. The fact that i am an adult i think i should be able to say what i want, im a active reservist so why shouldnt i be able to f**k? honestly. in that regards, everyone swears even my parents swear. But meh i guess ill just have to abide by what they want, as bad or stupid as it is.

yea sorry i should say that us boys who are apart of the whole havin ago at each other aren't offended by what is said, but the two girls are. We aren't saying that people can't do something cause there a gay or a girl or whatever its just like a you know oi you big fag whats the go with this? you know what i mean? thats why it shits me that they brought all this in and yea. We cant even swear now because its offensive. Honestly i think people need to grow up a bit sometimes.
-
can they take offense even tho we arent calling them it? it is between us boys not anyone else, not even referring to them or there friends.
-
Ok so i have a very general idea of the two acts and what they say. Where i work the boys always give each other a bit of shit. Nothing seriouse and none of us get offended by it. However the two girls that we have in the office seem to get offended by us calling each other names, especially fag, poof etc because they know gay people and it offends them. NO ONE IN THE OFFICE IS GAY/LESBIAN. Work has decided to try and enforce the act stating that we cant call each other names, gee each other up a bit, tease each others mums and what not. I feel like im back at school. Anyway they are claiming it is against the law under the two acts. My arguement is that as for harasment, noone takes offence or is upset by it so what we say to each other doesnt fall under this tree, because it doesnt create the bad work place and what not. But the discrimination one im not sure about. Are we discriminating because we call each other a homosexual without any of us being that way inclined? without there being anyone in the office like that? can someone shed some light for me because im a bit ticked off about not being able to be me and have a laugh or a joke in the office with my coworkers. Cheers,

I live in campbelltown, owned the car since december last yr and ive been pulled over about 6times for "random" breath tests, i guess some people are just lucky. whilst others suffer. I agree, the defect laws are there for a reason and should be abided by, you get done for a defect to bad so sad pay the fine and get that shit fixed. However you need to remember that just about all if not all cars made back in 95 have the same levels of emission and whatever else, thus should be treated as such, not just me because i drive a skyline. Im lucky because ive never been defected, touch wood.
-
Thats sounds exciting... Has anyone else noticed that there is alot of people in IT.

nah sore it out in c'town, exact one a few months back for i think under $300 not completly sure tho, just know it was this one and cheaper because i was considerin buyin it. -
i agree with alot of what has been said above. Unfortunately the minority has ruined it for the majority. But if you look at the time where the whole P platers crashing n killing themselves or others was going on, there was only a couple imported cars involved, there were a few just plain simple commadores, falcons and god help us capri's. what i think is wrong is that when im off my P's i can buy whatever car i like, loose my license whatever and continue to drive that car even tho i am one of those guilty parties that is "hooning" around. Imports are popular now days because they are nice too look at, have a nice sound to them and movies and games. Price, well the price for a 95skyline is anyware between 10 and 15grand, a 93 94 commo which will flog the skyline is how much? 5grand? i think its pretty indespuitable that we are targeted more then other drivers. However if you get defected because there is something wrong, boo hoo too bad so sad. Just fix it. On another note, just because we are young doesnt mean we are any worse drivers then others, figures show otherwise, but id like to know how many "random" breath test we get done for and how many blind eyes are turned?

they are also cheaper then $330 in JB now days, just so you know -
Sheng you bring up some good points, but regardless, import drivers are targeted more then others ESPECIALLY IF THEY HAVE P PLATES. i used to own a 89 honda civic and i drove that like i stole it and i was never pulled over, even when cops were right next to me and i was clearly speeding i was fine, yet if a copper is behind me in my shinny R33 i get pulled over every time and i drive more carefully because i dont want to waste the money that i spent on it. Of corse the coppers arent going to say hey look a skyline lets pull him over blah blah but doesnt mean it doesnt happen ya know? I think the media has alot of responsibility in the way we are treated now days, if those figures are accurate then i dont understand why the laws have changed. I honestly believe those who are creating the laws shouldnt be there because for some of them, they are the people who lost a child due to "hooning" and they are not in the right frame of mind when setting the laws up. unneccasry accleration? come on, as long as the wheels dont spin and smoke up the lights what does it matter if i take off faster then everyone else? if i dont speed or break the law dont pull me over. My two cents.
-
Grats, that isnt an easy place to get into. One of my mates from school got in there couple years ago, he is lovin it.
-
i know is sucks and he prolly did pull u over for no reason, but it does happen. The law is 2hands on the steerin wheel. ive been pulled over and the copper actually said to me i have one ticket left, what do you want it for? i took it to court and surprise surprise i lost. but good luck with whatever u do.

so whens the next one? ill come if its not raining...
