  1. whatever you do, don't scare the cat when it's on your car unless you want to see a cat doing a burn-out on your baby. i have the same problem, and only had moderate success with a cat repelant spray. but i think it's still your best bet less cover, garage, poochie, or cat-napping. if anybody wants, i have a new car cover for sale. bought it from super crap autos - couldn't be stuffed covering the car everyday and unable to put it back in the bag so it's been sitting around doing nothing. pm me if you want more details. will sell half price if anybody interested. sorry for the highjack thread ... if anybody is interested in a garage group buy, let me know!
  2. It's the connections to the battery, they came loose. Triggered the alarm. Thanks for all your posts ... and yes I am a paranoid noob.
  3. Well said Bobby. Yes what I heard too. But I can tell you that with conversion to halos, the usable light and spread is terrible. I'd actually go so far as to say dangerously inadequate. More dangerous than say light scatter from dirty headlights with HID bulbs. From what I have seen on the OEM assembly, the cutoff is very good. Not glaring at all. They are well designed assembly even with the lenses high up. What they should be looking at is HID conversions on halogen reflector headlights ... now that's glary and dangerous. Edited for grammar.
  4. it is a compliance requirement. i think the reason behind that is because the setup does not have auto levelling or washers.
  5. thanks for your posts guys. i too am hoping it's a weak battery esp considering that it was cold this morning in Perth. but the car started without fuss yesterday. when i inserted the key this morning everything lit up as it normally does before the power cut happened and the alarm sounded. yes it's probably the depleated battery for the alarm that stopped the siren after about 10 mins. lol @ headlights not turning off when battery is weak!
  6. wiper blades i think! shame about the HIDs ... that's my pet hate on compliance. snipping off something so beautiful. xscapade, can you elaborate on the mirrors? that would explain why my side view mirrors are so crappy in optical reflective performance if it has been changed.
  7. Hey guys, has anybody experienced this before? This morning when I was about to start my Vee, the car lost all power to its systems and the alarm triggered. There were no lights on the dash, the alarm was not responsive to my remote, the flashing immobliser light on the dash was not flashing (both stock and aftermarket), boot release not working, windows auto adjustment not working, etc etc. The alarm rang for a good 10 minutes before it died out. Any thoughts or suggestions on what I should do? A fuse I can check perhaps, or need to have the car towed to an auto electrician / immobliser fitter? Thanks.
  8. Welcome and manual is the way to go! I get around 12.5 l / 100km in the auto with Ultimate 98. The good news is that I haven't had any attention from the cops. The bad news is that somebody broke into my house to try and jack the line while I was zzz. Hope this helps.
  9. Doh ... I can't make it again. Previously booked in for lunch in the valley on Sunday. But from the looks of the video of the last cruise ... mine will prob be the only "all stock" 35 ...
  10. I get about 12.5l/100km on regular driving using Ultimate 98. I did notice a small but measurable drop in fuel consumption (5%) after the last service with Motul. A bit unfortunate considering the Zee is about 20% less thirsty.
  11. I too am vouching for Tokyo Motorsports / Autoworkshop. And the Motul they use. My car just wants to sing after the service, but of course that's attributable to the oil used.
  12. wow 45 is pretty hard! i just pumped it up to 40 about 700kms ago, it's giving me just under 12l/100km which is a big improvement in mpg from before. the ride is harsh which i don't mind but unfortunately the car's rattling a lot more which is driving me nuts. oh i've got the stock 18s as well.
  13. LOL! Geraldton sounds like funnnnn! Me think it's time for a trip up North.
  14. Yeah it is possible that something may be installed upside down. That has crossed my mind. I've got the Infiniti service manual, think I'll have to open it up to take a look. Hopefully the assembly is identical to the JDM projectors. The lights should be JDM. I'm the first owner in Oz for the car. Fingers crossed ... no accidents before. I'll look for a nice white wall and flat ground tonight to see the cutoff. The adjustment screws actually had no effect on the beam spread. I'm robbed of the joys of having HIDs. I'm one of those ppl who really like HIDs headlights ...
  15. Hi Frank Yes, they're projectors. And yes both the lamps are lit. You can't see it clearly from the picture, but there's light on the left side ... it's like ambient light on the road, not direct beam as on the right. It is however coming from the left projector coz when I physically covered the right projector, there is still the same ambient light on the road. Looking directly at the projectors, you wouldn't know that they're so off in terms of spread. Cheers Ohh I forgot to add, I did try to adjust using the adjustment screws. It had absolutely no effect on the beam ... Also thansk to xscape237 for talking and posting the pics.
  16. Which would be this poor sod ... Wonder what happened to the thread. For the rest of you guys, here is "my spread" again.
  17. I'm assuming this is not the lighting spread I should be seeing from the driver's seat of my 35. They are from the projectors of an 06 coupe on low beams. High beams are not much different. Does anybody what the problem may be? Cheers. Edit: bmp attached not showing up ... sorry.
  18. does anybody have pictures of the dispersion pattern of the light coming out from the projector HIDs onto the tarmac by any chance? mine looks funny ... may not have been set up properly.
  19. Thanks for the support guys ... it's been such a downer today. Got the windscreen place to order one from Japan ... yikes 3-4 weeks. Been doing the run around between drizzles this morning. And I've only got a carport, not garage. I'm not looking forward to this. Frank ... 3 days fr Japan? How did they manage that?
  20. Hey guys I just had my front drivers window smashed - prob a break-in attempt. Does anybody know if the window can be sourced locally, or had any experiences that you can share or if the 350's window (had to ask) is the same? Unfortunately at this stage, it's looking tough. One of the national chains is telling me they need to order from JP .. 2 weeks. I'm in Perth. Cheers!
  21. Hey guys, I may not be able to make it ... Had my drivers side window smashed earlier this evening at Samson Rec Centre. Looks like it was a target of opportunity. Will try to get it sorted tomorrow. I know it's a bit of a thread highjack but does anybody know if getting a replacement window will be difficult here in Perth?
  22. Thanks Chris. So the factory bluetooth will work then?
  23. almost 45k all-up from japan. but that was a while back and with 6k on the clock.
  24. Thanks ELFGT350! Wow you've got the Rays 19" and manual ... sweet! Those I missed out on. LOL, I'm exactly the same way - wanted black or lakeshore. The colour change is awesome, kinda like Ayer's rock Because there were not many V35s around here when I was looking, I actually had to compared the different colours on GT5 P! As good as the rendering was or actual pictures of the car in Japan, it doesn't do the car or colour justice.
  25. Congratz Messiah! I too recently took delivery of a auto 2006 V35 and am loving it. Do you know what the difference between the SII and SIII are and in which months the crossover happened?
