  1. Ah yes, the American rolling start! I'm surprised it doesn't get mentioned in the magazines; I only went snooping when I read that the 3.5l FWD American Camry manual was posting 6 secs to 60mph on either C&D or R&T. I thought that can't be right. Does anybody have their 0-100 and quarter mile times verified at a track by any chance? With the revup motor on the later G35s, were they the ones that had the oil consumption problem? I'd love to have the HR engine but imagine if we have that problem here! Unsupported and without warranty ...
  2. who did you go with for detailing here?
  3. 32 from Perth, just under $1k to cover $45k with the bear (HBF). but the premium has been adjusted for discounts because i have health, home and contents and corporate membership with HBF.
  4. hey guys, i'm interested. missed the last one coz' i didn't have a vee yet. i'll go with the flow. richard, thanks for organising. paul, respect! all the way from geraldton.
  5. Hey guys, how's everybody doing? Long time lurker; refrained from introducing myself until I got my Vee. Recently took delivery of an 06 Lakeshore Slate V35 auto with 6k kms on the clock and what is hopefully new car smell! Puma
  6. wow! that's great news ... hope i get my car by then. i'm in perth tho ... hmm ...
  7. Hey Bobby I feel for you. Everytime I part ways with a car I used to own, it feels like heart wrench. But looking after the family is important. Hope you'll stay around in the forums; I'm sure everybody agrees that it wouldn't be the same without you.
  8. So I was told about the chain as well by my mechanic on my Maxima. He also mentioned how difficult it is to change the spark plugs, which is why they're platinum and only scheduled at 100k kms. Not sure if that's entirely true and if it applies to the V35 (being RWD vs FWD).
  9. CHO50N, i know what you mean about the falling prices. the strength of the dollar only adds to it (the aussie dollar took a severe pounding at the start of the year). i've bought mine at the start of the year and paid a premium for it coz i wanted the car for the long haul. it's still being complied and to see the prices fall and dollar rise after the purchase and before delivery is quite distressing - plus the loan for the car keeps going on and on. having said that, my only real concern is if we get flooded with cheap v35s and the car becomes the weapon of choice for ppl who attracts the attention of the cops. i just don't want to be stopped by cops for no good reason like how the R33s and the sylvias are in some areas because of the way they're driven by some of the ppl who own them.
  10. I recon the easiest way to tell is the instrumentation panel. Series 1 has the speedo to the left while Series 2 has the speedo to the right. Also the gearstick is different for an auto version. Everything else can be a little bit subjective depending on wear and tear.
