  1. Do they make one for the RB25 now do they? If it's like there VL plenum then yes they are good, but should really be the last mod on your list.
  2. I think the fuel cut defenders are the biggest scam on the performance market, of all the Skylines I know of running 12psi+ including myself, none have FCD's, the surge flat spot fuel cut feeling most Skylines experience is more likely over fueling and maxing out of the AFM, which can be solved by tuning the A/F ratio, eg.PowerFC,SAFC etc...
  3. The intercooler is from HYBRID in Sydney and was at a discounted price of $705 thanks to some guy on the forum, normally $880. My exhaust= Stock dump-3" to stock cat-3.5" to first muffler-4" to rear muffler-5" tip. 188rwkw was achieved @12psi using EBC (Profec B) so it holds all the way, which helps.
  4. Yeah I figured it out, if you open up the leather cover you'll see a nut which you can tighten with a long 10mm socket, I chose to remove the arm rest and use a spanner.
  5. Well Gerald and Nigel did ask whether I had a larger turbo or not after they did the SAFC tune, I said doubtful as I'm making boost at 2500rpm, apparently the last VG30, SAFC combo R33 they tuned made 195rwkw and they were suprised that I was only 7kw below that. All I can put it down to is a good FMIC, it's very hard to make hp with hot air which is why I always recommend an intercooler before a boost increase.
  6. So fill in the blanks 1. No tune, no dump = .......rwkw? 2. No tune, dump = ...........rwkw? 3. SAFC tuned, dump= 155rwkw.
  7. Race Pace which is the same dyno RAIST60 had all his work done on and yet couldn't get more than 160rwkw, so explain that to me?
  8. R32 I assume?
  9. OK how is the handbrake adjusted, at the lever, under the car or at the rear wheels?
  10. I made 168rwkw @11psi, same mods(no dump or hi flow cat though), stock AF/Ratio. How much did your car make INASNT?
  11. How much just for the dump? Has it got seperate wastegate section?
  12. That's weird, I made over 160rwkw @11psi with no SAFC! Have you considered that it's your exh housing that's restricting flow not the dump, I remember you saying your using the standard exh/h with a larger comp/cover and obviously larger comp/exh wheels. I had a hiflow turbo consisting of a larger comp/wheel with a backcut exh/wheel on my old VL turbo, it was the worst thing I ever did, it pulled good down low but the top end was terrible, the exh/wheel and housing was to restrictive for the larger comp/wheel, I tried a large dump pipe but it made no difference as the problem was at the turbo not after. The more boost I ran the worse it was, can't feed air in if you can't get the gas out, was what I was told by the guy who built it, NOW you tell me!
  13. Yeah the engine sounds awesome, GT40 BB turbo, twin cam with VCT on both of them! However I think they weigh around 1650-1700kg which isn't much fun to throw around if you know what I mean.
  14. Incedently INASNT, did you get a rwkw figure before you fitted the dump pipe so you can tell which device is making what power (SAFC,boost or dump pipe)?
  15. Standard ECU, injectors and AFM are probably good for around 220rwkw. The standard turbo can make 200rwkw, the only way I've seen it done though is with a PowerFC or Microtech LT12. As a guide I have similar mods to yours with a SAFC and @12psi my car makes 188rwkw.
  16. If you don't plan on replacing the turbo then go the SAFC. Remember if you go a large turbo you may have to change injectors and AFM which in turn will demand the fitment of the Power FC, it kind of snowballs in price at this stage. This is where I am at the moment, I'm looking for a suitable turbo that will run my injectors and AFM and ECU/SAFC to the max and if I can make 210rwkw then that's what I'll have to be happy with.
  17. The fuel pump is a Bosch 944, only upgraded to it coz I heard ppl say the stock pump was crappy, reg is still standard and won't be upgraded to adj until I max out the injectors.
  18. Raist60- where abouts did you buy this turbo from and how much? Can you notice the boost coming on much later or not? Does it seem to pull better in the midrange than the stocky? Are you still running stock injectors and ECU? What rwkw you got?
  19. At 12psi I'd say there would'nt be hardly any benefit in the extra money for the Power FC, however with a large turbo @16psi there would be, considering you may need a Z32 AFM and injectors to safely keep it in tune. It all depends on what power you want for eg. the stock injectors and AFM are good for 210-220rwkw so I'm told. As a guide FMIC,exhaust,SAFC,fuel pump and stock turbo@12psi achieved 188rwkw for my car.
  20. A used Profec B and it's very good.
  21. Eventually yes, there good for about 200-220rwkw(stock AFM), but if your going PowerFC then definately get one(Z32), better tuning resolution.
  22. If your only looking for 180rwkw then really your only an intercooler and SAFC away. I'm getting 188@12psi, will tune it to 14psi and if I can't get 200 then I'll change turbo's.I've only spent $1700 so far and $450 was on a EBC which I could've done cheaper with a bleed.
  23. Internally the tubes have fins (if that's the correct term) just like the fins you can see on the outside that connect the tubes together. I got mine off a guy on the forums who had a quick GTR built by HYBRID and was able to get them for $700, I hardly believe that by paying $2000 I would make more power, and remember 90% of Skylines would never see 15psi or 200rwkw+ so why try to sell them an intercooler that would be better suited to a 600hp GTR. The $1300 saving can be spent on ECU mods, EBC etc.. which is a must otherwise the $2000 intercooler is a waste of time anyway.
  24. By ICE at Race Pace. Boostmeister- I don't know what you mean by the tubes are too large, have you seen some of the Apexi and HKS intercoolers, there way larger than mine, so are you saying that there no good too? The core material looks exactly the same as the AVO item I used to have on my VL, and pretty much the same as any bar and plate cooler I've seen.
  25. Well I was trying to avoid using diff/impedence injectors cos then I'll be up for a PowerFC as well, you know you've gotta draw the line somewhere, just wondered if there was anything off the shelf that the standard ECU could handle. Can anyone confirm that the Mazda Rotary injectors have the same impedence as the RB25DET?
