  1. Carbon wing still available and really needs to go!
  2. bloodsword27: As a seller, you have a responsibility and an obligation to deliver the item exactly as described in your for sale thread. Based on the information Jeff has provided above, it appears that the description of the turbo that you provided was not accurate, nor a true reflection of its condition, so with that in mind you are obligated to provide the buyer with either a complete refund, or a mutally acceptable settlement agreed upon by you both. It is absolutely unacceptable to supply an item that is not exactly as described, much less in a completely unusable state, then refuse to accept responsibility or offer a refund. Please get in contact with Jeff, and settle this issue amicably within 7 days, otherwise your posting ability may be restricted. Thanks
  3. HPI Dumps are 76mm. In comparison, Midori are 76.3mm (from memory) and the new Tomei's are only 68mm
  4. Just Jap is the Australian Blitz Distributor, and they have the Blitz Return Flow cooler kits for cheaper than you have been quoted. Check their website: http://www.justjap.com/store/home.php?cat=339 The Return Flow intercooler kits take nowhere near 8 hours to fit
  5. The HP you are chasing is not as simple to attain as just putting on a set of turbos - The engine will need to be built, and the hardware, labour and tuning you would be looking at to build a reliable 800HP GTR will more than likely cost you more than double the purchase price of the car itself. Have you driven a car with close to 800HP?
  6. Hey Marcus, you are one of the few in this thread that can add some quality input after your dealings with HKS Japan It will certainly be interesting to see how the kit goes, I can't see the Step Zero crank being weaker than a stock RB26 crank but time will tell. For interests sake I will try and get some more info for you on the ATTKD cars running the kit which should shed some more light on their longevity at the power levels we are discussing. At the end of the day the kit was recommended to me by my engine builder in Sydney, and my order was a bulletproof and responsive all rounder, and without taking this thread further off tangent, i trust the information I have received. For what its worth, I had plenty of my own doubts about this kit being 'cheaper' etc, but have been assured the setup I am getting will be up to the task, and I was lucky enough to get a fantastic price on my Step Zero which is one of the reasons I decided to try it out and take a gamble all while pocketing the rest of the money I was intending to spend on the Tomei 2.8 or HKS Step 2
  7. So is the 2.9 actually based on a 2.8 crank?
  8. Yep, pretty sure Racepace and 1 or 2 others have done a 2.9 which I understand was based on a 2.8 crank - Could be wrong though.
  9. They are available with an 86.5 or 87mm piston - There are a few other details in the press release .pdf that Martin HKS posted above.
  10. They do, they are brand new, I saw an ECR33 one there last Saturday in fact, give them a call
  11. Pretty sure they are around $599 give or take
  12. I looked at the Blitz and HPI radiators side by side, and the build quality on the Blitz was not that impressive - the HPI on the other hand was excellent, really nice welds and well made overall.
  13. Noel, obviously everyone has their opinion on the kit, and that is great - Nobody will really know how good or otherwise the kit goes until someone has one up and running. I went for the kit based on the fact it was highly recommended by a well regarded HKS Pro Dealer in Japan, that has built a stack of very quick circuit cars over there using the Step Zero, and to my knowledge none of which have yet found fault nor limitation with the kit itself, all at or over 600PS. I am not an expert but did some of my own research as well following the recommendation and for the price I was able to pick the kit up for thanks to a few contacts, it appears it will deliver what I am after, reliably, at almost half the price of the Nitto 2.7 for example. For what its worth, as far as the whole cost thing goes, I was originally looking at the Tomei kit, but after the Step Zero was suggested to me, and after evaluating what I am planning on using my car for at this point its pretty hard to justify spending (in my case) an extra ~$3k on the crank rods and pistons alone if I was realistically not going to need it. I can't quite see why you are in such disbelief over my choice, its my car, and really no concern of yours whatsoever. Im not making claims or talking it up here, just sharing some info about what direction I am taking on my build, it really is that simple. If you don't like the kit, move along and leave this thread for those that are interested in it and want to know more.
  14. Im not having a digg Paul, but I don't think i said the Step Zero will provide different results to the alternatives either, rather the specifications that HKS has released for the Step Zero, combined with the results I have seen from cars overseas using the same kit, plus the price point make it seem a very attractive option so I am giving it a shot. I already have a new GT-SS kit sitting around at home so at least for the time being they will be going on so the whole thing should be very responsive, albeit not with massive power unless I eventually switch out the GT-SS's for something bigger (Highly likely)
  15. Smart move, last thing you would want to do is make yourself look more stupid, wait.
  16. Come on now Steve, whats with the ninja edit? Are you that childish and spineless you need to resort to such comments then pull your little dig straight away hoping it won't be seen? Very sad. Now to entertain your comment, was there some sort of race I was part of and never knew? if so please do enlighten me. I think the way you talk on this forum really leaves a bit to be desired sometimes, you are extremely quick to talk yourself up and talk others down. Unlike you so often do, I haven't talked up what I am doing, rather posted some facts as many are interested in this kit, and stated that while resarching what kit to use the Step Zero was a very attractive option. I am really looking forward to seeing how it performs, not to run my mouth, not to gloat, but because I am keen to continue enjoying my car at the track. My car isn't intended to be a horsepower hero, just a fun all rounder, and yes the HKS Step Zero is something new and fresh to market so it will be very interesting to see if it goes really well, or otherwise. Time will tell. Cheers!
  17. Nowhere in my post did I say the Step Zero would drive any different to a Tomei 2.8 or HKS Step 1 or Step 2 I purchased the kit based on real-world results - Pretty simple, in fact the entire setup I am using has been spec'd out precisely for what I want it for.
  18. And back to the factual basis of this thread for those that continue to pm me asking me about my build. Right now by bottom end is in the process of being balanced - I have the Step Zero complete kit, with crank, rods and pistons all of which will shortly have a new home inside a new N1 block, with a brand new custom specification head setup which is being ported built and assembled for me in Japan There seems to be a large number of people that are very keen to see the real world results of this kit, and get an idea of its limitations. I am not aware of anyone else in the country that is running this kit yet but obviously that may be wrong. I would like to point out I was looking at the Tomei 2.8, HKS Step Zero, 1 and 2 2.8, and Nitto 2.7 strokers while deciding, and my decision was not purely dollar based, but rather it was centred around what i wanted out of the car and its application which is first and foremost circuit racing where response is critical, not high rpm. Obviously at its price point its a very attractive option for what it offers - The Step Zero is designed specifically for use with GT-SS type turbos, not big singles, and I was pushed over the line after seeing the results ATTKD has achived. Incidently, ATTKD runs this exact kit in the majority of its Time Attack cars, and it is responsible for some of the fastest Time Attack cars in Japan - That was enough for me. ATTKD/HKS advised that the pistons and rods included in the Step Zero are the same as the those in the Step 1 and Step 2, so the crank is the only difference and as Martin has posted above, HKS is always very conservative in their power ratings. Just how conservative is something I full intend to explore as the car will be setup with somewhere in the region of 500-600awhp initially, and I may well up this later and see just how far the internals will go. Hopefully I will have some photos to put up soon. Cheers!
  19. You really do dribble some crap sometimes Stevo.
  20. Thread closed. Your trolling has gone on long enough - If you want to post this sort of dribble, do it on another forum.
  21. Wait what? GTFO -------------->
  22. This is tempting, are you keen for a cruise down there Eric? are you planning on staying in Canberra or driving back the same night. Nick
  23. I was thinking about the Track Day, then I came across this: Fail.
