    Shell V-Zone

Did anyone go to Shell's launch of their 98 RON fuel, V-Power? I heard they had a V-Zone opposite the Bell Tower and it has some cool stuff in there. F1 car, Ferrari road car, remote control car race track, etc? Looked quite good from what I could see.
  2. Well finally, Shell V-Power has landed in WA to compete with the likes of BP Ultimate 98 and Caltex Vortex 98. Anyone tried it yet, apparently it has been available at some sites across Perth already for the last few days. I know I tried it in the R34 GTR when I was living in Melbourne and did notice some difference.
  3. Will these be coming in 19s? If so what sort of pricing?
  4. Bump for the manifolds...not only do they aid performance they make the note out of the RB26 superb. I have had mine on for over 3 years without any problems, a great addition to the RB
  5. That is the standard front bar with the Nismo oil cooler vent/duct fitted
  6. Superb Vehicle...lots of parts on it that I would love to put on my car! PSI-FED, if the colour is the only thing that is not ideal, I suggest you buy this car, if you are serious. I totally understand that it's your purchase and you should get what you are after, however, as you will only ever be able to buy a R34 GTR second hand the likelyhood of finding the 'perfect' car is inbetween very unlikely and none at all. You may find a Bayside Blue example, but it will definitely not have all the drool worthy bits that are on this car. Ben, if you ever think of selling some of the parts of the car e.g. wheels, skirts etc contact me
  7. JonnoHR31, the best regulator is the customer...if you suspect someone was ripping you off you can report it to the Consumer Protection agency. It is their reason for existence to help you out and investigate this. It is often the case that the most powerfull people, the customer, don't do anything 'cause of the attitude of being just one person and that is why some business's et away with ripping people off!
  8. thanks guys, will check out the above optiions
  9. Anybody know where you can get cheap window tinting for your car. I need to get some for the 'bunky' not the 'R' and just want it to be cheap and ok, don't need it to be fantastic
  10. Fact - The base fuel that the majority of fuel companies in WA use is from the BP refinery. I say most because some cheaper brands like Gull, Peak, United et al, import some of their base from Singapore as they may get it cheaper. Hence, why you never know what type of fuel is in them Fact - All the majors spend millions of dollars on chemist, physicists to come up with mixtures that give them an edge over their competitors, so even thought the base is the same the end product is totally different. Fact - BP Ultimate 98 is the only 98 RON fuel that is made as a 98 fuel from the start in WA. Shell do not supply their Optimax anymore anywhere in the world, they supply V-Power over east because they have refineries in Geelong (Vic) and Clyde (NSW) and ship/truck it to QLD, SA. Transport costs prohibit the supply in WA and they do not want to give BP their ingredients for them to make it at Kwinana, competitive forces at work. All the other 98 fuels in WA are made from additives, so to speak. Fact - Not all fuels are the same, and anyone who thinks so is kidding themselves. A perfect example of this is Ethanol fuel, even with the same Octane rating you get less energy from it then an equivalent RON non ethanol fuel. Sometime you can get more power from 95 RON than 98 RON fuel if the density of the 95 RON is greater, but only if your car doesn't need the heat protection of higher RON, e.g. turbo cars. Fact - They all have to comply with governemnt regulated maximums in sulphur, benzyne and minimums in RON but there are a lot m ore other factors that are not regulated and the different fuel companies use this for the competitive edge. How do I know all this, I work for one of our fuel majors and have lived both here and in Vic. I can honestly say that the best fuel in WA is BP Ultimate 98, but overall the best is Shell V-Power, as I used it when I was in Vic. So, go on and use the cheapest fuel or the most conveniant location on your pride and joy and you certainly will not be getting the most out of it and possibly damaging it.
  11. Anyone interested??? Offers around $50k Will look at swaps with cash my way for certain vehicles listed above. Will be putting it on carsales this week. Surely has to be some interest...good R34 GTRs are getting very hard to get in this condition!
  12. Have been thinking about the sale and am willing to trade/swap on a sports sedan/hatch that is 4 door e.g. Sti, Evo, Golf Gti (to have fun) or 4WD like Navara (towing the boat) plus $25k - $30k my way (obviously). Also, am willing to negotiate at or around the $50k mark, but this will not include any of the standard parts and will be on the standard tyres (Nexen N3000), although these will be an option for the prospective purchaser. You will not get a car close to this for that sort of money!
  13. Phone number for enquiries has changed to 0457 988 899
  14. Oh yeah, I have also recently put on a set of Yokohama Neova AD08 in the 245/40/18, which have seen about 300-400klms. So literally near brand new!
  15. All car club forums such as this, WRX Car Club, HSV Car Club, FPV Car Club, MX5 Car Club etc along with flyers at shops like Wheels World, such as Tech 9 Tyres, etc together with Performance Work shops like X Speed, Garage 101, Fabcar Racing etc would be a great for extra visibility to your audience. I agree that we need to make these sorts of events occur more often here in Perth, as compared to what happens in Melbourne, we don't have anywhere near the level of events like these, even though our performance car scene is just as large, if not larger. Good luck and hope to see you there at the event.
  16. Price Drop to $54,990 Car is back in Perth and has now got 56,xxxklms on the clock. Has just been serviced and is still in absolutely pristine condition. Price includes most, if not all stock parts. Terms and conditions of sale are subject to negotiation.
  17. lol...of course he is going to say that Peak 98 is the same as BP Ultimate 98, he works for them now and sells their fuel. It's quite amazing how all these theories are constructed. FYI, there are seven fuel refineries in Aus and dependent on state the majors i.e. Shell, BP and Clatex purchase of each other. The other fuel companies buy from these refineries, overseas and whereever they can get cheap supply. What is definitely not the truth is that different brand 98 octane fuels are the same. Yes, they may buy the base fuel from the same refinery, but what happens once this base fuel is at the different terminals makes the difference. So no, Peak fuel is no way as good as BP Ultimate 98 and no BP do not supply every station in WA. If you really want quality 98 octane fuel in WA it has to be Ultimate 98 or Vortex 98 as a second choice. All the other 98 octane fuels may meet the RON but what they don't have is the energy to match it with these fuels. Also, Shell don't supply 100 octane fuel anywhere in Australia and haven't done so for about 18 months. They just didn't sell enough of it and it was expensive to produce. They also don't supply their V-Power fuel because it's additive package, being the best in the industry, is logistically very expensive to supply where they don't have a refinery. As motoring enthusiasts, don't let anybody tell you all fuels are the same. It's like saying the Chinese rip off of that expensive HKS turbo is as good 'cause it may use a common part. How do I know all this...I used to work very closely with these products in the industry.
  18. Hi, I am putting up for sale my current pride and joy, an R34 GTR, which is in absolutely immaculate condition inside, outside, under the bonnet and under the car. Anyone who is as fussy about their car as I am will appreciate the condition of this car. I am only selling this car as I really only ever use it sparingly and it is being increasingly difficult to justify this much expense just sitting around. Since coming to Aus. 2 1/2 years ago this car has only travelled approximately 6000klms and has only been driven in the rain less than a handful of times! BACKGROUND I imported this car back in May 2007, after selling my R32 GTR. As mentioned, this car was graded 5A and was as it was when it rolled of the showroom floor when it was purchased new. When I got it into Aus. I went through it with a fine tooth comb and gave it a major service. The car is a 10/99 build date but first road registered in 1/00 and some of the non standard options that were on this car are listed below and were fitted to the car prior to it being picked up when brand new. Nismo 320 km/h dash - Installed when original dash had 10km on it Side airbags Nismo front brake package - Slotted rotors, braided brake lines and pads Nismo catalytic converter - since been replaced with new exhaust GTR floor mats Since purchasing the car I have gone about modifying it with only what I think is the best parts available. The majority of these mods were done in December '07 with further enhancements done progressively. The majority of this work was done in Perth by X-Speed and are listed below MODIFICATION LIST Engine: K&N Air filters HKS Type SPL intake and intercooler piping kit HKS GT2530 x 2 turbos with HKS actuators HKS 680cc injectors, fuel pump, fuel rail and fuel regulator Splitfire coil packs Tomei Poncam Type B Int & Exh camshafts - 260/9.15mm HKS Duralumin Cam pulleys HKS timing belt with pulleys and tensioners changed N1 water pump Racepace Motorsport oil catch can Exhaust: Tomei Expreme exhaust manifolds HKS extension kit - turbo dump pipes HKS stainless steel front pipe HKS Silent Hi Power exhaust 3.5" MetalCat catalytic converter Electronics: Apexi Power FC D-Jetro HKS EVC V boost controller Optima battery Drivetrain and suspension: Tein Type RA coilovers - aluminium monotube with height and bump/rebound control HKS GD Max twin plate clutch Cusco brake master cylinder stopper Nismo clutch slave and braided lines Exterior: Colour coded front spoiler Nismo smoked indicator lenses Performance: 441.9rwhp/329.5rwkw @ 18psi on X-Speed dyno backed up at Racepace Motorsport dyno Apart from the performance and condition of the car, it has only been looked after using the best of equipment for servicing, washing etc. It has covered to date a genuine 54,xxxklms Price: $63,000 You may find cheaper R34 GTRs, you may find more modified R34 GTRs but what you won't find is one which has got the combination of both power and faultless condition. So please no low offers, 'cause if you want a bargain this is not the car for you. If you are a GTR and appreciate that you pay for what you get then please contact me on 0424 504 253 [email protected] The car is in Melbourne at the moment but is still registered on WA plates Please no time wasters, no swaps or trades ONLY SERIOUS ENQUIRIES Pics attached, interior pics to follow
  19. Hi, I have a slightly modified R34 GTR and ever since attending a track day the car will not hit maximum boost like it used to prior to the event. The car is running HKS GT2530s with supporting mods and was tuned to make sure it 100% healthy before the track day. On the day I ran it at the low boost setting of 13.1 psi, which it was tune checked at. It is also tuned at high boost of 18.4 psi. The engine is super healthy as it made approx 276rwkw on low boost and 329rwkw at high boost when tuned and serviced before the track day. So, the symtpoms that I have are as follows; Firstly, boost set at 18.4psi using HKS EVC V and prior ro event was seeing this easily. However, after the track day it is stuggling to hit this mark. It will see mid to high 17psi. FYI, it will continue to see the lowboost setting of 13.1 all the time. Secondly, there is a fair bit of oil in the inlet pipes before the turbo. I have HKS intercooler piping with the inlet pipes before the turbo and I can see that I have oil collecting in them, expecially in the rear turbo. Thirdly, there is a smell of burning eminating from the area closer to the rear turbo. I have done some quick checks on the car and there is no smoke coming out of the exhaust, the turbos continue to spin very freely on shutdown and stop at exactly the same time, I have cleaned the oil residue from the inlet pipes. I have a Power FC and have monitored the hand controller and have not seen anything untoward on it, except that the injector duty cycle seem to be operating a little higher than before. Can anyone help me by offering some advise on what checks I can do to maybe fix this or at least eliminate some possibilities, or even tell me what might be wrong with this prior to me taking this to the workshop. I have been told, by the workshop, that this could be due to the car not having a breather tank and after the track day with the oil getting hotter than ever, it would have breathed oil into the intake causing this problem. Anyway, your assistance would be appreciated. Cheers

  21. Where are these wheels located? Also, are the tyres really 265/35/19 or 265/30/19, which is the correct size for GTR? I think
