that dirty 30 is actually in the process of being dropped into an autech that made it's way into my shed.... hence only wanting a stocker for this one. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/414350-advice-for-stock-30dett-turbo-and-ecu-choice-please/ does anyone have a website for NPC? i'd love to spend as little as possible! and are people going for a GT-T or 33 GTR? would either be cheaper? Darrin, when you say all RBs are the same, does this include a 30? because i should have a few of those laying around somewhere.... which would be awesome.

so i need to do the clutch in my RS4s very soon as its constantly reminding me that its about to shit itself completely. laziness and a full shed dictates that it'll get done on a weekend at work which means i wont be able to have the flywheel machined on the spot. so, i have a flywheel from an RS260 sitting there somewhere, are they the same as an RS4s? my guess is yes but can anyone confirm it? would save me a lot of f**king around if they are because i can have it machined during the week and then just swap them over. on the clutch side of things, has anyone found a stock replacement clutch for under $700? thats the lowest i can get through work for a clutch industries unit. all i want is a standard replacement jobbie, dont need anything better.

Advice For 'stock' 30Dett Turbo And Ecu Choice Please!
pintaline replied to pintaline's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
ok so cam gears, no probs. exhaust isn't stock but it can wait either way until it's back in and running. likewise for the fuel pump, agree it's essential but at this point im going to focus on getting the engine together and back in the car. finances have just taken a hit and i'm building a car trailer at the moment as well so for now, i think it's choose turbos, bolt the thing together and drop it back in the hole as that'll take me long enough. has anyone had any experience on the N1 rebuilds on ebay? how would these go? they're a bit closer to my budget and have warranty unlike second hand units. -
im in the process of building a 30dett for an autech stagea and i know sweet f**k all about turbos. so, im after opinions on what to use. the engine is being built as close to stock as possible and will be a daily driver and i dont intend to push it at all. angry overtaking is about the worst of it. the bottom end is a RIPS block that i picked up second hand (but never used) and its the basic block with stock internals. i dont intend to get anywhere near its full potential at this point in time. Basically, if nissan ever made an RB30dett, i want mine to be what it would have been. so, i had originally been advised to just keep standard turbos but the more i search here, the more people say its a bad idea. can anyone confirm this even in a 'stock' application? if they're no good, what would be the best replacement? i want to stay with twins (unless a single+manifold+lines would just work out cheaper/better) and again, what nissan would have fitted if they built it. would love to use stock dumps, lines, manifold if possible. next point is that im trying to keep costs down. this doesn't mean i want cheap shit that will break in 6 months, im just trying to spend as little as possible on good gear. example being new stock turbos from another car or well-known second hand items. next question is ecu. whats the best thing to run it safely and reliably? once its tuned and running happily, it will be left alone so something basic to run it but keep it alive forever would be great. advice please!

thanks, i found some Tein struts pretty cheap, if fulcrum ever get back to me, they'll be heading there for servicing then in they go

how much would you be looking for?
-
called KYB aus distributor today, straight up NO on anything JDM. Im thinking ill just leave it for now and figure something out another day when i have some spare cash or when something pops up cheap. genuines were quoted at $190ea front, $330ea rears and that's trade!

yeah but i see $1400 of coilovers as a waste of money because i dont need or want coilovers. kiwi, im guessing you guys have useful suspension shops over there? i fit suspension at work and i buy from pedders or monroe. neither of which are any help. RHDjapan have kyb's listed but not to suit a manual. $332 shipped for a pair.

what are they worth? from everything i've seen, more than i want to pay.

so i was wondering if anyone makes standard shocks for a C34? i dont want coilovers of fancy shocks, just standardish replacement. has anyone ever bought genuine nissan ones and knows how much? or does anyone else make something??
