hey all, im about to start an RB30 twincam conversion on my stagea, need some advice on who are the best people for the job. ill be doing all the engine removing/refitting myself, just need someone to modify my NEO head and do one last mod on my 30 block, then bolt it together. i bought a RIPS 4wd RB30 block, its all set up for the conversion except for an oil supply to run VCT because id like to keep it active. so that and the head mods and they need to be able to tune it for me when ive got it all back together... car is 4wd which narrows down dynos in the area but if the shop is good enough and only has 2wd dyno, i can make it run in 2wd. so who do people recommend? i know esp do good work but ive also been told they charge alot for it. at the end of the day, im not rich but i dont want a shit job either. D.

yeh, $600 for the car, $200 for a new engine from wreckers. never working on a holden again. ever. D.

New Canberra Stagea Owner (advice Needed Please)
pintaline replied to JP510's topic in Australian Capital Territory
yay! another stag! got a few getting around town now.... welcome! make sure you pop in over in the stagea section if you haven't already, tons of info... D. -
nope, but ill be doing one better in the next few months... RB30DET time! hopefully going to get my bumper painted too, sick of having a panda car. D.
-
i will now eat my words, at work this morning, walk outside and sitting in front of me is my first job. a grey series 1 autech, canberra owned. i told him you were looking for one to check out and he said he may pop in here at some stage D.
-
he had for sale stickers on it for a while but i think he pulled them off.... very tidy car. not an autech but it is a factory manual, just like mine.... i've never seen any autechs in canberra or heard of any here so chances of finding one here are pretty slim. but, come on over to the stagea section and ask the question there, you may find someone in sydney... i think that's the closest you'll get D.

cheers but it's gota be under $1000 including rego.... i'm tight as and if i was going to spend more, i might as well spend it on my little ford escort i have sitting here. also, the less i spend on a runabout, the more i have for my new engine. also looking for rwd but if the right front drive car came up, i could swap it with my brother for my old 31, so that wouldn't be too bad in the end! D.
-
interested, how much you chasing? keeping a close eye on allclass, most of my cars come from there and have sold alot of parts there also. keep them coming guys, ill let you know when i find something D.

hey all, i'm looking for a runabout car, need it pretty soon... like end of the month kinda thing. looking for anything rear drive, fairly cheap to run, reliable, ready for rego and it's gota be cheap! like under $1000 including rego. looks aren't important at all, dents are ok, wheels and tyres can be shit but i need it to go thru rego pretty easy as i dont have the time to do any work on it. it's only gota last about 3 months while i have my stagea off the road for an engine swap. as long as it starts every time and gets me to work really. ANY rear drive car considered, just let me know if you have anything or know anyone with anything cheap thanx all D.

if he'll do the centre console gauges for the rs4s/260rs and do a good package price, i'd be keen... last time we tried to get el gauges done, they needed too many people... i'm sure we can find 5 easy.... there was around 10 keen for the last lot D.
-
ill also be going down the RB30 route very soon, already have a RIPS block sitting in the shed waiting for the time to put it all together D.

Gauge Face Replacements On Ebay
pintaline replied to pintaline's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
the plastic they use is thin and not a dark thick plastic like nissan do so they sometimes get a shadow in the middle of the gauge. parts of the actual gauge gear behind the face sometimes gets inbetween the backlight and the face so it stops the light from lighting up the whole face evenly, creating shadow patches. i think that makes sence..... D. -
link $72, they're the thin ones tho that show shadows sometimes but a bit a black paint on the back should help that D.
-
all the same D.
-
if northside's not a problem, JAXquickfit mitchell will look after you D.
-
pretty sure that thing is part of the traction control system on R34s... stags dont have traction control so no extra thing. i'm pretty sure that's what it is... it's the reason it's so hard to change the throttle body on an r34 because you loose traction control. D.

Help? R34 Owners Please Read...
pintaline replied to Factory 5's topic in Australian Capital Territory
get a stagea!!! i love mine... she's a little heavy on fuel around town but it still hasn't been tuned since it came from japan... but a power fc will fix that very soon (mine's a manual) anyway, get one. they're getting nice and cheap now for autos and a 2wd one will be a little cheaper again. even the m35s are getting cheap, you can pick one up from around $20k, vq25 turbo...... a mate of mine got a GT-T 2 door, loves it but admitted to me the other day that it has no space for anything... unlike my car if the boot space in a 4 door is anywhere near similar to the 2 door, i wouldn't recommend it for travelling... My R34 Gtr Front End Stagea Build Thread
pintaline replied to darrinspencer's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
yeh they're still about $700 cost price fronts 19x8.5, rears are $750 for 19x10. the wheels are used on some racing cars in europe and some well known racing teams use them. similarly made wheels are used in F1 from the website... "The Enkei GTC01 is without a doubt one of the most technologically advanced alloy wheels available. It uses a special form of casting known as Duraflow M.A.T Technology as used on Enkei's Formula One wheels they supply to F1 team Vodafone McLaren Mercedes. The result is an incredibly strong wheel that is also exceptionally light. Available in a wide range of fitment options including staggered fitments." i was at the 2010 wheel range launch recently, they're very very nice looking wheels and extremely light for the 19x10 i was holding. if they were cheaper, i'd already have them on my car! i can find out all the available sizes and offsets tomorrow if anyone wants... those wheels look awesome! anyone know the exact model/name and where/who to get them from?? would love a set in 19s..... D. -
just found this on ebay, apparently, neo injectors are the same as holden LS2 and LS3 engines and also turbo FG falcons... fg's and R34's use a different plug but these people supply the new plugs to suit. link my have already been known but i thought it was interesting... maybe some holden/ford injectors are bigger than stock neo ones? D.
-
pop the headlight adjusting one out and make sure it's plugged in, mine was unplugged during compliance. for the second position for your fog lights (with the 2 symbols), do you have 2 reversing lights or just one? if only one, the other light will have a red panel which is a rear fog light. this position turns that on D.
-
someone needs to make a bonnet with the R34 'Z tune' vents in it. i'd buy one... D.

225 and 235, different sizes so different rolling heights. i wouldn't want any more than about 3mm difference in rolling height front to back on my car and the difference between a 225 and 235 will be bigger than that D.
