  1. Hey guys, the other day i was was soldering my z32 afm plug onto my series 2 r33. this is wat i connected: original Afm------------------Car-----------------------z32 (markings) 1-----------------------Orange + Blue-------------------- (B) signal 2-----------------------Blue + White---------------- © + (D) Joined the two ground wires. 3-----------------------Black + White------------------- (E) 12v while i was soldering my lil sister decided to turn the key to ignition (coz she likes the blue lights on the cd player) so some of the wires touched, but i heard no noises, i pulled the key out and continued, figured the worst that could happen was a busted fuse. when i finished i pluged in my z32 and turned the key to ignition, and my safc2 is reading 100% airflow, so i plug in the ecutalk cable and it too is showing 5.1v which i thought was wierd as the car is off. so i try turn it on n nothing, it just wont turn over. sometimes it almost does but. so i solder back the stock afm, thinking maybe the z32 is faulty but i hav the same problem. i checkd all the fuses under the dash and they r all fine. then i thought it might be the ECU. so i tried turning the car on without an afm connected n it starts. it idles round 1100rpm and sounds normal for a cold start. ive double and triple checked the wiring and its correct according to every wiring diagram i can find on the net. i plan to put a z32 ecu with a nistune board, but dont want to continue without solving this problem. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. its just doing my head it!
  2. yeah u can, but not until u tune it. i returned the one i had with 5 pins n got one that has 6.
  3. well i just finished testing on ignition stock afm: 0.2v z32: 0.54. and now i put the stock back and its reading 5v and car wont turn on.... f**k!!!!!!!!!
  4. anyone confirm that its fake coz its onli a 5 pin plug???
  5. he removed it, and we didnt make a box for it, but ive got mine in my gtst boxed up to insulate from the engine bay heat. as for the heat shrink it should be fine, ive got plenty of it in my engine bay and never a prob. yeah some of the nuts n bolts r ball breakers lol good luck with it
  6. i did this on my mates r33 gtr last weekend, does the r34 have 4 wires for the stock afm. if so the u can find which is the power using a mulit meter and the ground one is usually the slightly thicker black one. connect those two up properly. then u just do trial n error with the other two, if u get them worng the car just wont start, swap them n there u have it lol hope that makes sense. as for the power fc, its either in setting or etc. have a play around u will find the afm section and u simple choose the vg30. and yeah we found the brackest where a bitch, but they do fit. hope that helps mate
  7. im obviously going to tune it. going to run a z32 with a nistune board. but i purchased a z32 afm the other day and only when i got home and started preparing the plug i noticed it is onli a 5 pin plug and socket, not 6. so is this a dead give away or do some come with the 5 pin plug, its in great condition, the sticker is straight and looks gen. i contacted the previous own how still claims is gen and said i can get my money back if im not happy. also doesnt have the nissan logo anywhere???? here r a few pics
  8. thank you very much Paul, i have to say i appreciate all the work uve put towards helping others like me.
  9. sorry for bringing up an old thread, is it ok to hook up the z32 to a stock ecu to just check it it idles at 0.5v using the datascan cable to confirm it is ok and genuine??
  10. i might just wire it all up n tow him the car, ive got a trailer. onli reason i wanna wire it up is coz it saves me $200
  11. hmm ill have to double check with him, he will be installing the nistune board, but he said its ok aslong as i have both z32 ecu and afm fitted, if i have the stock afm it will lean out. thanks
  12. Hey guys, ive done my research and ive decided tht nistune is the best way to go for my r33 and the power figues i hav, this way i can still keep all the safety features. so im going with a z32 ecu. i know it has to b out of a 300zx between 89-95 model, and i know the wires i hav to change. seems easier then it was hooking up my safc2. the onli question i have is, my car is manual, does that mean the z32 ecu i get has to b a manual, i think i was told it doesnt matter, but can anyone clear this up for my as ive found a cheap auto one and i plan to wire it up myself to save some cash. my understanding is if i run the z32 afm with it, ti will run rich, but i will b able to drive it to my tuner thanks Adam

My problem is that my standard fuel pressure reg has prob stuffed up, as my injectors arnt the problem, its the fact that i have low pressure in my fuel rail, so when the injectors open less fuel then normal goes through.
