got to agree with that my girlfriend works as a PA for a state member of Parliament and every week they get literally 100-200 (up to 500 if it is a rainy week) complaints a week of hoons drifting around roundabouts, doing burnouts, revving the guts out of their cars etc in residential areas. Do you think those in charge give two farks about car enthusiasts claiming discrimination when they are copping abuse from constituents? Believe you me, we are in the minority by a long margin and as such are fair game as far as the powers that be are concerned. If enthusiasts are looking for someone to blame, then blame all the knobs who feel that it is okay to do this stuff in residential areas where there are people around. And if you are the type of person guilty of doing this then you have no right to complain. If you can't help yourself then at least drive away from populated areas to do it for farks sake ... if not for your own good then at least for all the rest of the responsible car enthusiasts. < /rant >

who was it aimed at? no-one in particular, you seem a little bit jumpy there Dan. I was referring to the new members of the car modifying community that come on here and other sites claiming that they want "ex amount of horse power" and then they will be the "queen of summer" whereas if they chased a fat torque curve they would surprise the dyno queens out there, when it comes down to "real life track racing"

Great story Col I must say it is quite annoying to those of us who have been in the car modifying scene for awhile to think that some people just chase horsepower with the asumption that it is the be all and end all of the equation. A well set up car with a "useable" powerful torque band will always be a credible contender regardless of how high the horse power is. Especially if you are into track racing instead of being a dyno queen! Read my sig for further clarification

Yep Government is definitely getting serious about road offences. My girlfriend works as the PA for a State member of parliment and another thing in the works is the introduction of cameras on "problem roundabouts" i.e specifically roundabouts in residential areas where there are lots of complaints about people drifting around them. Penalty maximum will be loss of car! mind you I actually think that it is a good thing, if you are the type of tosser that goes out at the first sign of rain and "drifts" in a residential neighbourhood you don't deserve to drive in the first place IMHO!

That's fair enough, but pictures can be deceiving. It's not until you see it in the flesh, do you realise that the pictures just don't do it justice. When I see it parked next to my car, it makes my 33 look old and dated. Each to their own I guess, I just think it's a bit lame for anyone to comment on something that they have only seen in a picture.
