Happy Birthday Mr Ed everyone sing along with me ..... A horse is a horse, of course, of course, And no one can talk to a horse of course That is, of course, unless the horse is the famous Mr. Ed. Go right to the source and ask the horse He'll give you the answer that you'll endorse. He's always on a steady course. Talk to Mr. Ed .... etc etc

V35 Coupe Kicking Some Butt
Nexus9 replied to silver gts-t's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I'm impressed with that, especially it's torque when exiting corners it would have been interesting to see if it didn't get held up so much by the other cars after the s2000 got to the front nice link thanks -
I feel for you dude I will keep my eyes peeled for you as I am on the road quite a bit for work. Hopefully you get your car back undamaged and the thieves find the arse lovin in prison they are so obviously aching for!

A Definition of Acceleration. * One Top Fuel dragster 500 cubic inch Hemi engine makes more horsepower than the first 4 rows of NASCARS at the Daytona 500. * Under full throttle, a dragster engine consumes 1-1/2 gallons of nitromethane per second; a fully loaded 747 consumes jet fuel at the same rate with 25% less energy being produced. * A stock Dodge Hemi V8 engine cannot produce enough power to drive the dragster's supercharger. * With 3,000 CFM of air being rammed in by the supercharger on overdrive, the fuel mixture is compressed into a near-solid form before ignition. Cylinders run on the verge of hydraulic lock at full throttle. * At the stoichiometric (stoichiometry: methodology and technology by which quantities of reactants and products in chemical reactions are determined) 1.7:1 air/fuel mixture for nitromethane, the flame front temperature measures 7,050 degrees F. * Nitromethane burns yellow. The spectacular white flame seen above the stacks at night is raw burning hydrogen, dissociated from atmospheric water vapor by the searing exhaust gases.. * Dual magnetos supply 44 amps to each spark plug. This is the output of an arc welder in each cylinder. * Spark plug electrodes are totally consumed during a pass. After halfway, the engine is dieseling from compression, plus the glow of exhaust valves at 1,400 degrees F. The engine can only be shut down by cutting the fuel flow. * If spark momentarily fails early in the run, unburned nitro builds up in the affected cylinders and then explodes with sufficient force to blow cylinder heads off the block in pieces or split the block in half. * In order to exceed 300 mph in 4.5 seconds, dragsters must accelerate an average of over 4G's. In order to reach 200 mph (well before half-track), the launch acceleration approaches 8G's. * Dragsters reach over 300 miles per hour before you have completed reading this sentence. * Top Fuel engines turn approximately 540 revolutions from light to light! * Including the burnout, the engine must only survive 900 revolutions under load. * The redline is actually quite high at 9,500 rpm. * Assuming all the equipment is paid off, the crew worked for free, and for once NOTHING BLOWS UP, each run costs an estimated $1,000.00 per second. * The current Top Fuel dragster elapsed time record is 4.441 seconds for the quarter mile (10/05/03, Tony Schumacher). The top speed record is 333.00 mph. (533 km/h) as measured over the last 66' of the run (09/28/03 Doug Kalitta). Putting all of this into perspective: You are driving the average $140,000 Lingenfelter "twin-turbo" powered Corvette Z06. Over a mile up the road, a Top Fuel dragster is staged and ready to launch down a quarter mile strip as you pass. You have the advantage of a flying start. You run the 'Vette hard up through the gears and blast across the starting line and past the dragster at an honest 200 mph. The 'tree' goes green for both of you at that moment. The dragster launches and starts after you. You keep your foot down hard, but you hear an incredibly brutal whine that sears your eardrums and within 3 seconds, the dragster catches and passes you. He beats you to the finish line, a quarter mile away from where you just passed him. Think about it, from a standing start, the dragster had spotted you 200 mph and not only caught, but nearly blasted you off the road when he passed you within a mere 1,320 foot long race course. ... and that my friend, is ACCELERATION! -
It was definitely the R33 GTR that broke 8 Mins see this thread for times http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=84230

I am sorry you feel that people aren't taking you seriously, unfortunately you are a victim of your own hubris. You made statements that people have questioned you on because some of us are genuinely interested in what you have done and how you have got there. Unfortunately you decided to understate what had been done to your car so as to make us think that for $3500.00 that we too could turn an XR6T into the same performance car that yours is. As for your statement that you aren't going to lie, well I must admit you have confused me because your very first post in this thread you claimed that you had only spent $3500.00 on your car, then it changed to $4400 then to $6500 and that there were only minimal mods done, yet after further questioning we find that the mod list seems to be a bit more than that as well. Realistically for someone who doesn't have access to trade rates and the ability to do all the work themselves, it would cost the average Joe considerably more to get the car that you have. It is the "boy who cried wolf" syndrome you are experiencing and you are getting upset because people don't know whether to believe you or not. There is a saying "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me" All the same, congratulations on your car as I am sure a lot of care and attention has gone in to it and you should feel proud. I really like the XR6T and know that it has buckets of potential. In retrospect it would have been nicer and you would have received a lot more respect if you had been upfront about it from the start. p.s I am serious that you should call one of the performance car magazines as I am sure they would love to do a story on your car.

hmmm what kind of computer sales Colin? Is it retail or serious enterprise level system integrators? If it is the latter I may be able to help you out.

Happy Birthday Dirk hope you had a great day
-
oh no Pred and one of the Kelly brothers in the same house I reckon you both would need chastity belts and double locks on the bedroom doors
-
I have to agree, there are just too many changing specifications and unrealistic claims for this to have any credence. I agree that it is fast and powerful for what it is and good on him for getting the car to that level ... but the other claims of over 300kph perfomance for $4400 (trade prices or not) the fact that there still has not been any list of modifications etc etc just isn't cutting it for me he's selling it but I ain't buying it

Fastest Production Cars Ever
Nexus9 replied to GTS_300_Coupe's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Interesting list pity it is limited only to cars released in the American market and only contains American and European Cars -
I have tried really hard to give the benefit of the doubt on these claims, but it just all doesn't add up for me I am afraid especially when you say that you have only spent 3.5K on mods.... but then you go on to say that you have had the gearing changed amongst all the other mods. You have a car that produces more power than the APS Ford XR6t (with phase iii upgrades and which is also known as the fastest top speed XR6T in Australia) you also have handling that enables the car to be completely stable at 300+kph speeds, yet the APS car, a car that has hard evidence behind it, was an absolute handful at 300kph. All this for $3500.00 .....amazing I will be happy to believe you when you post up ... your mods, how much you have really spent, a dyno sheet, a time slip, hell any type of real evidence that even comes within 50kph of your quoted top speed. I am an open minded person and I love all cars, regardless of their brand, whether they are N/A or Forcefed, or they are 8's or 6's or whatever. If they can perform then I take my hat off to them. Mate I will buy you a beer if your car can get even close to what you have claimed. You should get onto one of the car performance magazines, as I am sure they will be champing at the bit to do a story on the fastest top speed XR6T in Australia or the world for that matter. But until there is some type of evidence, I am sorry but I remain totally sceptical and unconvinced of your claims. I really want to believe you as I would love to see an Aussie car do all this, but in all honesty you aren't making it easy.

a company can charge what ever they like for their services, but generally you find that companies who charge a premium for their services are also giving superior services at the same time. Unfortunately in this case they went out of their way to call him back and to alienate a potential customer who has in turn told a few people about his experience, who in turn will tell a few more people and so on. I know I have already related the story to at least 20 people, who are probably telling other people as well. As I said it's a small world and actions that this particular workshop has taken has cost them who knows how many potential customers. Price has nothing to do with it but attitude certainly does and in this respect the saying is true "the customer is always right"
-
p.s please PM me the name of the workshop as i would definitely like to avoid them and steer as many people away from them as possible people like that do not deserve to have customers I suggest anybody else interested in which company to absolutely avoid at all costs to ask for a pm from Col as well.
