  12. well if you are gunna do it, please make it interesting. Tell some jokes or teach us something, don't just mindlessly post rubbish about what you are eating, what is on TV, the weather outside etc etc you know, classy whoring
  13. Disagree with those two. the first one is a time and place thing, in a residential neighbourhood, you should get the fine ..... in the middle of nowhere with no other traffic you shouldn't get the fine. THe 2nd one definitely should get a fine, it is dangerous to change lanes without indicating, it is extremely annoying and can be dangerous when people don't indicate on roundabouts. Indicating allows other drivers to know your intentions so they can adjust accordingly. Plus if you don't indicate it is just damn rude and inconsiderate as well.

  15. awwwwww that is sooo cute Gordo I think you should have some of the Homo sausage as a reward.
  16. If you are sort of comfortable with it, I would stick with it for a few months and learn as much as you can. Just remember all business sell something and as a sales person you keep everyone else in the company employed, so yes people may not like sales people but at the end of the day, without you they would not have a job. You are young at at the bottom now, but if you stick with sales and get good enough to get into corporate sales, you will earn more than anyone else who works in the company. Some Sales Execs earn more than the CEO's of their companies. Think long term (10 years or so) and it will come your way eventually. Try and do some Sales and Marketing courses in your spare time when you can. And keep your chin up
  17. also the first numbers to be tapped by the government..... be very careful what you say over the phone
  18. House to house selling is another form of cold calling. Are you comfortable with what you are doing? Can you see yourself learning any sales skills from your experiences to date?
  19. Yep you have to personalise it to yourself for it to work. What about the retail side of where you work, what does that entail?
  20. hmmmmm interesting. They give you a script to follow?
  21. How else are you generating leads for them if you aren't cold calling? Inbound enquiries? Excuse me, if I come across as nosy
  22. So as a "PR person" they are essentially using you as a lead generator?
  23. Once you had a person who was interested, did you make an appointment with that person for a field rep to go and see them?
  24. Cold calling isn't bad as long as you have a premise for doing it, here is an example of a cold call that I have done. I heard from a customer in Umart that St Hildas was going to put a tender out for businesses to supply computer hardware for the school, so knowing that premise I rang the admin part of the school and found out the who the person was who was in charge of the tender process. I then rang that person and had a quick chat, made an appointment to see him to see what it was they were looking for and how I could be the one who could provide what he was looking for. It isn't that bad when it is like that, because generally they want to take the easiest route to solving their problem. Someone plonking a phone book down in front of you and saying start with "A. Aaronson" and try to sell something to someone who has no need for your product is the lowest form of sales and is why sales people have a bad name.
