Quick question- What is the best route to take for power cable direct from the battery to the boot? Best way through firewall? Under carpet or under side panels, or combination of both? I need to run cable rated for about 15A. ( this is for an UHF transceiver, not actually for audio gear but the same issues apply Cheers

Yep, flanged. Not sure what you mean with 1" hole - or do you mean when the valve is closed? If the latter then you simply go easy when it's closed, if you want to put the foot down - then open it to full.

What size system is that out of interest?

Sounds good I'm getting a Varex fitted this Thursday. I've opted for the oval/twin tip version, so it should look fairly stock and the valve shouldn't be visible at all. So hopefully much less attention from the cops...

Sounds like you got the oval version? I have an oval version on it's way to me - with dual tips... it should look a lot less 'hoon' than the huge cannon I have currently fitted, without any real performance compromises (he says, fingers crossed!)

Yeah... they're still using the same weeks old story. I'm not truly convinced this is the real reason. To me it makes no sense at all that a handful of failed catalytic units has this much impact. Oh... all at the same time, mind you - And at different companies refineries as well. Quite remarkable! They would surely have some redundancy built into their systems in the event that some of their equipment fails? I mean, this is a multi-billion dollar industry, not some back yard operation. The same problems still persist for this long? Maybe they should, umm... fix it? Perhaps I'm just too sceptical/paranoid, but I mean, come on. Thanks for the link mad082.

Exactly Plus, I can't be arse queueing up just to ask a question to which you'd probably get a useless answer. Maybe I should buy some octane booster myself if this keeps up. I have been told (and read) that there have been problems at the refineries, beyond that I don't know.

The past couple of weeks I've been unable to find Shell Vmax in my area (Wollongong to Nowra), no big drama as I usually prefer BP Ultimate. Now today BP was out of Ultimate... what's the go?!? Doing some searches brings up comments here and there on the subject but there seems to be a lot of here say about the cause and how long this is gonna go on for. Just wondering if any of you are having no problems getting good fuel, if so what area you are in? Cheers

True. Sometimes they're a little too "bling" for me, certain ones anyway. My stock tailight lenses look a little dull/faded, as do the (rather useless) reversing lights. I have some plastic polish and might try to revive them a little when I get the time. Hey that reminds me - I've noticed that some 34's seem to have one reverse light clear and the other is red (or has a red globe)??? What's that about, anyone know? Here's a perfect example: Cheers,

Seems that the consensus is that I tint 'em! Thanks for all the replies and ideas - I'll get the tint done within the next few weeks. First job off the rank next week is replacing my 3 week old Xforce muffler with a Varex muffler (wish I did this to begin with but was talked out of it!) The current muffler is sometimes just too loud/boomy and with the silencer fitted, too restricted - so the Varex seems a much better compromise - the only negative is that the existing system is 3.5" and the biggest currently available Varex is 3"... but I feel it'll have minimum impact. I've done a lot of reading on the subject and I think the Varex will be okay just as long as common sense is used... So I'll have a near new muffler up for sale soon I hope Erm, oh yeah... we were talking about tinting weren't we?!? Man, theres no end to the stuff that I 'need' to do to this Skyline, lol.

Agreed! I'll put this one at the top of my list methinks... East Bear, right? Also agree - the GTR doesnt need touching Unless you really need ventilation in the bonnet perhaps... Yeah I'm in two minds about getting LED tail lights, some just don't look right and some are 'okay'... although my opinion kinda changes a lot depending which day you ask me I do think the original tail lights look a bit dated with the amber lens though. I have a feeling I'll be fitting some to mine at some stage, just as soon as I'm convinced which ones I like most. Also, I reckon the brake light on the boot needs to be LED as well, to match the tail lights. Not sure if anyone makes them though? Mind you, with a bit of thought it could well be a fairly simple mod to make yourself...

With the remote kit installed it's gonna be so good! Well worth doing, I wish I could adjust mine on the fly like that. Maybe one day... heh

This is supposed to fit an R34 - I fitted it but couldnt select 5th or reverse... hmm (!) It it otherwise new (apart from being installed and removed, obviously). Billet stainless shaft with Chrome coating with 'Nismo' stamped into it. Came in a plain brown box, so is it a genuine Nismo Item - I doubt it?? It is also 'supposed' to fit 32's & 33's but frankly I do not know if that is correct or not, as it didnt work properly in my 34 box. All parts as originally supplied included in original box. So I am selling on the basis that the above info is understood - perhaps somebody else has a better clue than I and can take advantage of it $55 plus postage or welcome to pick up.
