With my car detonation was holding it back from making 300 safely, anything over 17-18psi the car was not happy on PULP. I'm sure a head gasket would have fixed that tho. Just for some fun i went out this morning and checked the part number (had to look hard with lead light the eyes not what they used to be). Mind you i couldnt see the other number as the line was in the way. GT3037 56T 70177-5007 And from Mr Disco. Garrett family of GT30 UHP Turbine based turbos , aplication HKS / Garrett . Next time you say you have a "GT30R" it could be any of these or maybe others . Some people just know everything don't they^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I actually only paid 3K for the complete HKS set up, cant see ya getting a complete Garrett turbo, Dump pipe, turbo to AFM pipe etc etc etc for 1K unless you know something i dont. Oh BTW internally gated 3076's that i know of have trouble with spike if you dont relieve the gate (more money) something i didn't have to worry about.
-
I'm not that interested that i'm going to measure wheels etc, just seems (to me anyway) that guys with 3076 Garretts flip off HKS3037's as being nothing more than a pretty comp cover. I believe otherwise which is why i purposefully went down the HKS path to the detriment of my hip pocket........(350rwkw on E85 with standard manifolds seems to reflect my thoughts also). Again these are only my opinions read into them what you will.

re-engineered compressor and turbine wheels. You missed that bit^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Whats 1.3 bar around 20psi? Like to know why you think thats the max cause mine loves 23psi and some. Maybe your talking a PULP tune not E85.
-
Taken from Nengun. The HKS GT Series Turbos are based on ball-bearing Garrett units and like the HKS Signature Series have re-engineered compressor and turbine wheels along with specific A/R and trim levels. HKS carefully tested Trim and A/R levels along with different inlet and outlet diameters to achieve optimal power As you can see they are quite a bit different to the Garrett 3076. HKS have built the turbo around the engine so to speak. Garrett have everyone in mind with their turbo housings/wheels etc. I think thats what Dangerman was referring to.

Agree with the ULP comment but reckon the E85 masks the size of the 3582 on a 2.5ltr. Should tune for PULP for fun one day and see how the car responds. Another guy i know with 3540 running PULP on a 25 is quite laggy but hey his tune might not be optimum. Years ago when i was playing with V8's (ally headed clevo's mainly) my main aim was always averages not peak power and thats where i think the 3037 is the right choice for a 25.....Throw a 25/30 into the mix then its a different story 3582 would be a better choice for sure again my opinion only. Trying turbo's on same car wouldn't net much difference imo, the engines both done similar work. Either way they are both weapons.

Lets just say i'm more than happy with the midrange/top end of the HKS3037. Gotta compare apples with apples, i'm still running standard manifolds (which lets face it would be pretty much at their limits) and Adrians has a Plazmaman intake and etm high mount. If i was a betting man i would put my money on Adrians in a Drag race with the extra top end. 100kph roll on in fourth i think would net a different result. Different animals but both lots of fun

Read again mate i'm having issues in third at 350rwkw
-
Any surface in third with anymore than quarter to half throttle coming onto boost results in wheelspin. When i was running 274rwkw i had no issues with wheelspin in third and second was quite controllable as you and Nismoid are finding. Been actually thinking of running off the 18psi actuator for a lazy 300-320 to see if its any better in the traction stakes.
-
Yeah you got grip i'm jealous. I'm learning to get it to the ground tho with very moderate throttle imputs. I'm over mashing it and leaving 3rd gear strips down the road (sometimes anyway). Nothing wrong with response tho, excellent turbo for 2.5ltr imo.
-
Have to double check with adrian but i think his spins to 7800, mines limited 7250. Don't think that rpm on the dyno chart is accurate somehow....Both cars dyno'd in 4th gear.
-
Hey Dangerman hows things mate. I think Lithium is refering to my HKS3037 on E85. Heres a plot with Adrians and my car on the same dyno (Willall's) GT3582 vs HKS3037 .68 Lee Edit: Picture not working properly but is on the last page of the E85 thread up the top.^^^^^

Guilt-toy Now Running On E85 !
(OO)Firty Free(OO) replied to Guilt-Toy's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Just rang the servo i usually get my E85 from here in SA. The guy told me the government is not allowing the sale of E85 at the bowser anywhere in Australia. May pay to ring your supplier and double check. -
Just rang Enffue at Mawson Lakes, the guy there told me E85 is not allowed to be sold anywhere at the bowser in Australia.........Not good news at all

Guilt-toy Now Running On E85 !
(OO)Firty Free(OO) replied to Guilt-Toy's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yeah was a bit of fun comparing our cars altho I'm not really too surprised on the end KW difference. What surprised me was the torque was very similar considering the different turbo sizes. -
HKS 3037 Pro S running E85 will do the job quite nicely.

Cheers Mate spins people out, car came second at the last dyno day i entered and people couldn't believe it when i popped the bonnet. It's sporting the following mods E85 (love this fuel) PFC Standard Exh/Inlet manifolds, cams head gasket HKS 3037proS (23psi) Decent 3-3 1/2 inch zorst Sard 850 injectors 88-94% injector duty Nismo FPR running 45psi base pressure Splitfires Platinum plugs 7 range Bosch 044 intank Blitz LM cooler Hey presto 350 ish rwkw

Pod Vs Air Box
(OO)Firty Free(OO) replied to ClutchBurndout-:('s topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Takes a lot of Air to flow 330rwkw cant be too restrictive, used to spin people out when they looked under the bonnet and it looked stock. -
Pod Vs Air Box
(OO)Firty Free(OO) replied to ClutchBurndout-:('s topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Know what ya mean the standard turbo gets quite annoying with a POD Standard Airbox fine imo, I was running 330ish rwkw with one (K&N panel filter as well of course). . -

Thanks for the update Fishpaste, i actually went to Enffue Mawson Lakes today and the people there are still telling me it will be available in the future...... For those interested see the link below from the dyno day a couple of weeks ago. My car is the first red 33 (pulled a wheelspinning 309rwkw first run went on to spin up 356) and Matts (whatsisname) is the second darker maroon coloured 33. Also note the Black 32 which is chad (Dstroy) off this forum. Also worth mentioning was the top 3 spots were filled by SAU members running E85 http://s2.photobucket.com/albums/y33/kfsRu...Day%2014-03-09/ -
Pga-sa Interclub Dyno Day #3 - 14th March 2009!
(OO)Firty Free(OO) replied to car_fanatica's topic in South Australia
Hey Matt, Cheers for posting your sheet up as i was interested in seeing what difference our tunes would show up on the dyno. Apparently you can run as lean as .90 before you start losing torque with E85 which goes to show how forgiving the fuel really is. Does your Microtech run the VCT? Not too sure if GWW is reading correct or not but would have definately been interested to see Adrians car on there. Wait til next DD i guess. I read your post on GT's thread and got me thinking i should maybe ring Enffue to see if they can shed any light on the matter. Long story short the Manager was nice enough to return my call stating they have over 1000 ltrs at the moment and are expecting another delivery next week. As to the future of E85 at their station he said he was under the impression that they will continue supplying the fuel. Next few weeks will tell the story i guess with the receivership, cant say i'm overly enthused on paying $2 plus for a litre. Lee -
