I just prefer road speed. Some prefer rpm but i look at road speed as i takes into account diff and tyres so better real world result in my eyes And those saying go 10cm on a 2L i think you may make a peak number easier, it may even be a few kws higher; but the net result is terrible vs an 8cm on a 2l. Sure the RB20 is different to an SR20 but the result will be the same....no mid range and about the.same top end. If you are worried about.combustion effeciency and back pressure but in a slightly bigger.turbine or better flowing turbine in the same housing size. Seems that will give a better ovrrall result then putting too big a housing on a 2L

Can you do a run with road speed instead of rpm? Are you sure that rpm scale is correct?

The age of the caliper is not a factor for a road car. The condition of the rotor, caliper seals and lines and of course pad and fluid will dictate how they work. Do you run ABS? If you are doing street duties and starting to look at light track duties then I would get some PMU Club Racer or Endless CCX pads. Far better than the DS2500s which are not really different to the pads you currently have.

Can you accurately measure the space between the top of the caliper to the inside of the rim. Also measure from the face of the caliper to the back of spoke. I think the last set I trial fitted on my car were 9" +28 and they didnt clear my 4 pot 343mm brakes. If the measurements sound right I can come look at them after Anzac day. What suburb in Sydney?

Dont waste your time on a thermostat. It adds to the number of required adaptors and sections of hoses...over time the first thing to fail on an oil cooler setup will be the thermostat which can get gunked up with carbon etc...and why do you need a thermostat? Its a pretty silly think for 90% of Australian cars. An oil cooler isnt going to do sh1t when you are sitting in the garage with nbo airflow going through the core. And when you drive out your driveway and down the street at 30km/h there will be jack all air going through your cooler and bugger all temp drop. A cooler will only work when you have a large temperature difference, or delta T. So coolers will only really start to work when your oil temps are getting up to 70deg C in the first place. So, if you are doing it on a budget, get a good quality core and hoses and ditch the thermo stat. I do 10,000-12,000kms a year in my car and I have not run a thermostat ever in my setup which has been on the car for 11 years, and I lived in Richmond NSW that sees some pretty low temps and often in rural Vic/NSW and still on a std motor getting the ring thrashed out of it and has been liek that for the last 7 years with reasonable amount of power through it.

I don't think its a case of Vettel not performing. Its just back to 2010 where Vettel didnt really like the balance of the car and often Webber had a pace advantage, equally as often Vettel had a slightly better setup and pace. Remember up until the introduction of the blown diffuser in Hungary 2010 Webber had won more GPs, leading the points and had every bit of the quali and race pace Vettel did. BUT, come Hungary with the change in the blown diffuser Vettel instantly was a few tenths quicker. Webber won in Hungary because Vettel goofed...but it was clear Webber struggled with the car compared to Vettel. That continued all the way through 2011. Now, no blown diffuser and its interesting. Webber is a long way from dominating Vettel, but its clear he is back on the pace of Vettel and to date he has just had a little more fortune then Vettel so in turn is ahead on points. I look forward to the car development this year. I hope to see RBR get a bit more quali pace as if the are to be a hunt in the WDC they need to be on the front two rows for the race and solid podiums week in week out. Otherwise McLaren will just grind away and walk away with the WDC/WCCs

Worthwhile? Depends if your current brakes fade at the present? If they do then going bigger will help fade. If by worthwhile you mean the car will stop quicker then you wont be spending money on the correct parts going for bigger brakes, If brake fade is marginal then going to a better pad then the QFM A1R will yield an improvement itself as whilst they are a reasonable performance pad, there are plenty around that are better. Bit of course they are more expensive

Ditto...whether I agree with someones post or not...their post count doesn't really mean much. Each post stands on its merit....nothing to do with post count. Air is very farking lazy and will happily rocket down the path of least resistance....in light of what is going on in turbines and exhaust housings, provided there isnt any meaningful misalignment in the pipes or flanges etc I doubt you would realise a real performance difference between an immaculately profiled, fitted and tig'd manifold and what is being sold here. This weeks thinking for me is ( ) if you are expecting a performance difference you really need to look at the design....so runner lengths, 6-1 vs 6-2-1 manifolds, std log manifolds etc. Not whether you have near knifed edged collectors or mig vs tig etc

But from what I just read our only option with Foxtel is through the Speed TV channel and their commentators are muppets
-
I just searched the Foxtel site and they dont do anything Sky related and their searc says the race is live on 10 and not delayed. FFS they cant even get their own site right....i need to look at Foxtels

f**k it...time to throw mud https://www.facebook.com/TENsportTV https://www.facebook.com/onehdtv
-
Yep...looks like back to channel 10 and delayed telecast as the race starts at 10:00pm and the TV Guide says 12:30am  :ban:

I really hope in the world of HD you will be able to get some good high res prints of Webber's Petrov
-
John, what camera and software setup are you running these days?
-
Mint. Will have to work out a weekend where I can run my car on the Ace Dyno as I am real curious to compare our curves and outputs. And I am back in Melb soon so reality has just set in. I have two cars and no parking so may need to look at seeing if you have an empty spot at the Man Shed.

The hosts must be frustrated as well. I mean the amount of breaks and rubbish they have to present. The are car nuts as well and bet their hands are tied. Its such a crock that they dont just do a 3min intro and then go to BBC or Sky coverage for the WHOLE event, pre and post race as well as practice and quali sessions. But Channel 10 are failing in all ratings and cant help but think a clown is calling the shots over there
-
I have decided that Sky and Brundle miss having DC next to him. 3 GPs in and I think I amy revert to BBC coverage with Jake and DC
-
Dan had a disappointing race. The decision to go 2 stop not paying off
-
Who is taking bets? Will Webber be allowed to have a go at Vettel?
-
COME ON WEBBER!!!
-
Webber getting AIR...YEH BABY!!!
-
Webber instantly into purple sectors
-
Nice Mark...clear air and now GO!
-
If Webber cant win I will be pretty happy with a Schuey win

I really hope Kimi can get a result today. You have to think looking at the front row and the straight line speed of the Mercs, they will have a pack of cars behind them into the first stop and the likes of Webber will need to 3 stop to get soem free air and hammer. Has the potential of being a cracker!!!!
