Its no excuse but you have to remember you are paying 1/4cof the price of what Trust want. IF we are lucky thats mostly down to support/service and maybe the occassional quality probpm me your number. If my oil line will fit yours then you can have mine as i never plan on using them

3-0 Webber for quali. I wonder if Seb will throw his toys out of the pram anytime soon

Rb25 Stroked To 2.7 Or Rb25/30?...ideas And Recommendations?
Roy replied to henson's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yeh, RB30 crank/block, forged rods and pistons, Tomei/Nitto oil pump, aftermarket sump all for less money then even the cheapest RB28 stroker kit is hard to go past. OR you can just be a cheap skate and use an RB26 bottom end for the extra few ccs. If money isnt an option then may as well go an RB32... -
Rb25 Stroked To 2.7 Or Rb25/30?...ideas And Recommendations?
Roy replied to henson's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Nothing wrong with just buying the turbo you are after and running it on a well tuned RB25 on E85. If you grab something like a 3076 or T67 and throw E85 at it you will make 350rwkws safely and reliably. Sure a stroker will give you more bottom end, but meh... at what cost. If you are doing track work there is thousands to be spent on radiator, oil cooler etc before you worry about a built motor. Also if you are going down the road of a built motor then you need to really look at oil pump, sump etc which in themselves instantly add 2.5-3k to the price of an engine build. The secret to any RB that is going to see prolonged open throttle like you expect at the track is to go to a tuner with a proven track record with circuit cars. IF the engine fails then it will likely just spin a bearing which leaves you with a perfectly usable head and block etc to use for the stroker or RB25/30 build. But I suspect that once you have the std RB25 humming along at that power you wont be worried about building a stroker engine to make 30-60rwkws more at 4,000rpm which is a power band you never really se when you are up it and having a go. -
What Brake Calipers Are On 34's?
Roy replied to Little's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Oh god. Shop somewhere else. If they cant sell you a pad for an R34 GTT then odds are they are going to send you the wrong think even if you tell them the right information -
Just saw this now. Sexy boot. Car must be uber fast. Do dry call batteries require battery boxes?
-
Does the brake master cylinder have 2 ports or 3? (ie is it an ABS or non ABS unit?)
-
He had his chance. He struggled to match the results of his team mate in F3000. It would have been nice if his team mate wasn't Juan Pablo Montoya and it would have also helped if his engineers spoke english. He generally raced well and made positions, but the problem was Montoya would qualify at the front and his results hosed Lowndes on a whole. I would loved to have seen Power get a chance....he seems to have the gusto that may have meant he had a chance in F1

Does it have the snorkel?

LOL, I know, but the lil RB20 just keeps on rocking. Cant bring myself to replace it when with that money I can go on holidays, or say...buy more brake kits I can't wait to throw the 18G on and see how it compares to the 20G on the lil RB20

R33 Gtr Off The Line In Gtp! Awesome!
Roy replied to runningmanz's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
But STILL cool! If you have any more old stuff then post then post up. If you happen to have the Gold Coast Sports Sedan support races for Indy then I would kill to see them. The one where Jane Scott puts his Sierra up against Carlins 300ZX -
Hey, if I had the option then thats the way I would go as I appreciate they do end up with a better result. I tend to look at the few people that have gone single scroll to twin scroll setup sand looked at the differences. Fair point about the EVOs but you need to factor in the boost differences from the factory, the turbo wheels themselves, the addition of MIVEC to some models, the developments in the heads and cams etc. I am no EVO nut, I leave all that techno fluff to my mate...but I think the engine and wheels the later models are running has more influence then the twin scroll. But I would take it if I could, expecially on a 6 cylinder where on paper it will have more merit then a 4 cylinder edit...if you can find a T3 twin scroll housing that will fit onto my TD06 then will throw it on my car with the HKS manifold. Pretty sure that manifold is going on my new cheater motor. But i think if the 73HTA works well then I will end up with a 76HTA FP twin scroll on my chook cooker
-
The results I posted are not a GTX3076. LOL I hope he doesn't mind me posting pics. Dont really agree that the twin scroll makes up for a big difference. If anything its the 1:06 housing that makes a difference to what you would normally see as at 120km/t it made the same power as my car (we use different wheel sizes so that factors into it) .
-
To the best of my knowledge (95% sure) the engine is 100% internally std inc cams. It has a 6 boost split pulse manifold, 1:06 A/R turbine housing, Jun copy plenum and that's about it to go along with the 3076

There is a lack of good looking women in my parts, but have car shit up to my ears. By product of being single and not having a mortgage A friend recently went the E85 route for his track only R32 GTSt (c/w dirty RB25). Perhaps his 3076 has a little more flow potential then the 20G but i suspect you could give 320-330 a nudge on E85 based on his result I am going to give E85 a nudge as my car is very sensitive to ignition these days so talk is it would benefit more than some on E85. I suspect I wont get a back to back result with the 20G, rather the 73HTA wiht 98 vs E85 as I am praying that this lump of alloy isnt a steamer like everything else I have thrown at my car the past 24 months

What did he write about the Sierra's. I only learned to read at 15yrs of age

LOL, You guys are as defensive about the modded std manifold route as I am with people who sh1t on RB20s Each setup and approach has its merit and advantages, and each have their disadvantages. I am not pissing in anyones pocket with this statements but in my eyes Artz result is about the most impressive in this thread. The power and response using 98 with a modified std manifold is damn impressive. It will be real interesting if with the new clutch and some more boost how the result will change. And I am by no means a high mount for all occasions guy. I was rather disappointed in the results of my 6boost manifold not being able to match my Greddy manifold. Others may have the same or different result...but for me I was disappointed. There are reasons why I like the high mount option, but many why I don't which is why I have a HKS low mount manifold laying around in my parts bin to be used if current engine goes bang. I am told tuners can tell when a setup is working well by how engines respond to different levels of fuel, ignition, boost etc. If back pressure and levels of ignition the engine can take are not holding you back then I doubt there is much to be concerned about. Since my general thinking is 280rwkws (some dynos are different) is about the limit of the 20G wheel on 98 then in your case the setup works well and its doubtful there is much value in doing anything to it other then some more boost vs returns.

I always read his site as he often gives an alternate perspective/insight into things. You read it long enough you realise he has his pet agendas but still posts plenty of interesting insight into the "world of F1" rather then just the usual races and cut and paste articles so many other F1 sites have

I don't think the temp of the inlet charge makes jack all difference to the temp and pressure of exhaust gases. I suspect it is more a function of back pressure from the modified std manifold (assuming Artz is running a 10cm housing). I have made my thoughts pretty clear on the std manifold in the past. They get the job done, but at at the sort of power many are making I think you make the power easier with a better exhaust manifold, and often more power and with snappier throttle response.

Man, listen to the Lotus Propaganda machine roll into town. A $30 million loan means nothing in my book. If it was a straight up sponsorship of 30million over multiple years then perhaps it starts to look like they are serious....otherwise....I really hope Kimi and Romain start kicking goals and get some money into the team with results
-
Interesting, a friend had HKS cams in his RB25 that deleted the VCT and its always dangerous to judge and form an opinion on the basis of one car but perhaps there was maybe a difference in throttle response and maybe 100-200rpm, hard to tell with the change in cams...but not 500-1000rpm. I would expect the 500cc, 0.5 bump in compression and VCT would at least give you at least a 500rpm improvement
-
What about something like a VW Caravelle or Mercedes Vito? I am looking at one as a camper/tow car.
-
Yeh, between United and Caltex it will be pretty easy for me to run E85 now. I am still going to just use Datalogit to switch back to ULP for daily duties and making sure I dont have E85 just sitting around in the tank and lines when I am away with work etc. So can someone start to explain the difference between Artz's RB5-20G result and DVS JEZ's? Surely VCT and tweaking a tune doesnt make 1,000rpm difference in response???? I ask because I have read that on some setups E85 can make a setup spool a little slower....have not seen any cases of it yet and wondering if its a factor in this case

A beef injection may fix that lazy eye. Wolff may not have the goods to get the job done
