  1. Wish my predictions were always that good. I guessed it would be either Kelly Racing or Rogers Motorsport to go the Nissan route. So Kelly is the first on board. I still think Rogers could jump ship too giving Nissan the two teams they will most likely be looking to support
  2. Just give her a good service. Dump the fuel and get some ULP in there to wash through all the lines. I would drop the tank and clean it out. Put 10L of ulp in there, diconnect the igniter and crank that bad boy and get some fuel flushed through the pumps and lines. You could always blow compressed air through the lines...perhaps people with experience with old E85 in the tank can tell you just how critical it is. But suspect as long as you give it all a good fluch with ULP then dump it as well. From there, just a good service, Check gearbox fluids, PS fluid, brkae and clutch fluid. AFM is clean., new plugs etc. A wheel alignment and check the brake calipers have not seized. Nothing major, just things to check
  3. Because the Skyline has no local market relevance for Nissan.
  4. I am told Lily Tenue is Belgian. If you have seen the Discoplis film clip you would tend to look on Belgian girls rather favorably But back to motorsport pics... Anf 2011 F1
  5. What is wrong with being Falcodores? GT1 cars are just spaceframes with panels. To a lesser extent the same with GT2 and even GT3. Get to GT4 and they are semi production cars. Nobody rights off GT500 cars as being sports sedans. I dont get why people right off them as being Falcodores...as though any race car has to be 100% based on a production chassis car. I agree that the people running around thinking their SS is a V8 Supercar is a worry, but at the end of the day that association is what is most appealing to many of the manufacturers. I havent read the COTF regs since early last year. The talk of Mercedes being interested seemed to be torpedoed by their desire to use a production engine rather then an badged control engine. That and they didnt want to have develop to much aero (spend $$$$) I hope they allow some freedom with engines. At the end of the day they engines that Ford run with are not that relevant to Ford these days, nor is the Chev so will have to move on sooner or later
  6. Even then, if it wins it will be as a rwd V8 Not a AWD TT V6
  7. Havent you been reading Marlin. I have a new turbo and suspension setup. When I do mods it normally means the car is slower than last time out (err yeh 34s...but the above still applies so would be happy if its at least as quick as it used to be)
  8. Sure did...all part of the plan to get into the 44s at Winton. Driver has to lose 25kgs
  9. Last time I was paying attention the COTF regs meant it had to be a 4 dr, rwd and V8. Because its now a silhouette series any manufacturer can come along and grab a chassis and put its panels on and be up and running for very low associated costs. So unless Nissan plan on importing some of their UA/Japanese V8 4drs the Nissan they will be running here will be a hotted up Maxima, with its V6 and FWD drive thrown in a bin...which isnt even remotely related to its road goign cousin. But who cares, the series like many touring car series isnt about production car racing...its a platform for a race series that at least look like cars some people drive day to day and manufacturer have in show rooms. The fact that they are all pretty close to being spaceframes with control suspension, gearbox engines etc doesnt bother me at all. it will be about the best race team and drivers more then the best manufacturer
  10. Be interesting if you would say the same thing if you watched the whole race flag to flag? It is good racing and the stewards allow them to play up a little. Being fwd (well most) you can get into the sides of one another without always spinning the other guy around. Also they have no power so slip stream and punting is rife. BUT, the coverage is always great because they edit the footage and the coverage is never live. When you are able to put a reel of coverage together then it is always easier to make what was a 35 min race look like an action packed 15min race And Jr Moffat, DJ etc can all get stuffed. They dont have the talent to have their seats!!!! People, including myself don't like Rick Kelly, but he gained hugely from sharing the other seat with Murphy and he got his head round the cars and is quick. It is motorsport so unless your Dad is a an exCAMS official, Ex driver, circuit owner or just vastly wealthy then you don't get the chance to throw your hat in the ring.
  11. Would have to be a Maxima wouldn't it? There is nothing else in their domestic line up that makes much sense.
  12. So what turbos are you throwing at the RB25?
  13. I like the vids. The car looks pretty sorted and has some good poke. The final left hander and sections of the pit straight look like ep[ic fun with steering the car on the throttle and having to brake with some steering attitude on the car! Love that sort of stuff ! Years ago we organised some Tas track days and pulled the pin due to NSW being cheaper/easier. Now that I am back in Aus for good need to start the annual Vic Motorsport trips back up
  14. People that complain about the quality of the V8 Supercars racing need to actually watch a GT500/GT300 race. They are boring as bat shit with cars very rarely actually racing. As a motorsport fan still great to watch due to the variety of cars, but its hardly good , close racing.
  15. People need to take their blinkers off! Do you really think the cars being entered by Ford and Holden are their best efforts? For the rules of the class they are. But given a clean sheet to enter "their best efforts" nobody would be able to afford to go racing! Just like in the Grp A days they all put in their best efforts in line with the rules. Any rules that allow a twin turbo car that makes more power, more torque and allowed to run 4wd with bigger tyres then rwd V8s and 2L turbos is a flawed class. There was a reason they were made to run weight penalties as the rules were way off what they needed to be to have a field of competitive cars. If I saw that the rules allowed me to run something like a GT3 Exige in the Grp A class, the result would have been the same as what the GTR achieved until the rule makers caught up with the inequality in the rules Nissan saw the hole in the regs and built the sharpest tool in the shed. Hats off to them. So I love how the great news of Nissan returning to domestic racing is met with negativity saying that they will be held back. Look at Europe, if we had it so wrong why have they started a series much the same as ours with the V8 Superstars? And people that complain about the quality of the V8 Supercars racing need to actually watch a GT500/GT300 race. They are boring as bat shit with cars very rarely actually racing. As a motorsport fan still great to watch due to the variety of cars, but its hardly good , close racing.
  16. STR and RBR bolting out of the gates today
  17. Why is it boring? It is generally good racing. My only gripe is that I dont really like any of the current crop of drivers. Lowndes is popular with most people, but I simply don't like many of the current crop of drivers. So its hard for me to get behind any particular team/driver. Racing is racing is racing...I will watch just about anything race so I am easily pleased
  18. Lot of detractors in these parts regarding V8 Supercars. So I wonder with Nissan back in Australia's premiere local tin top series are people going to tune in? What will be real interesting is who partners with Nissan next season. I hope they go with a proven performer like Rogers Motorsport, or Kelly Racing. Hopefully this will sew the seed for a one or two other manufacturers getting behind teams. That was one of the most telling things about the V8 Superstars round I watched last year. You had V8 Maseratis, Mercedes, BMW, Chryslers, Jags...the previous season you had Porsche with the Panemera.
  19. Nobody pays me for anything. I was like the stray little kid following Jarrod around carrying his camera gear hoping he would introduce me to some Belgian models The blazing inferno was a Chrysler 300C that didnt make it through quali....must have been a fuel fire or a catastrophic engine failure as it burnt for about 5 minutes
  20. Best of luck this week with the wedding Brad. Was only thinking the other day that Fatz is probably going to hit you up in abut 4 years time for some nice chrome moly monkey bars for his backyard and his little slugger to play on. I am betting your kids will have the coolest, custom fab swing set ever to be played on
  21. bloody faulty SAU triple post
  22. LOL, yeh the pains of being a photographer. We were sitting at the inside of La Source watching them all do skids on their first few outlaps for quali....Jarrod was busy taking pics I just sat there having a hand feed as I didnt want to miss any of the action in real time by watching it through the lens of a camera. At times it mst suck to be a photographer I caught these during the start of a race that weekend. The Jag was in the wars all weekend
  23. Ben the F1 link GOD!
  24. Where is Webber?
  25. Thats it, keep your cards close to your chest Woo. The special RB20 crate motors will only go up in price as demand increases. Just hope word doesnt get out
