321H is better again due to the extra carbon and the toughness it gets. The whole warping thing is a bit off base. You need to consider thermal expansion and Stainless has a higher rate of thermanl expansion then some other materials, including mild steel. So the whole warping things is mostly a problem with the compromises you have to make due to space. If your manifold is designed to allow the manifold to grow with expansion then contract as it cools then they dont warp. If when they grow they pull due to no movement in the exhaust and inlet then when they cool they will cool to a different position and you people claim they have warped. Or as they heat the weight of the turbo and gate make the manifold want to sink in the engine bay then again tehy will cool in a different position. So support the weight of the turbo and a stainless manifold will be happy. So its normal for a manifold to expand when hot, the whole warping thing is to an extent inevitable due to something going from 20deg C to 900deg C but take some precautionary steps and they will be fine. If you look in the world of motorsport you do get some ideas for inlets on the V10s and V12s where more then 4 cylinders needed to be fed in a bank of cylinders. The big curve ball is they often run restrictors so manifolds are designed around maximising torque and before airflow limitation and driving like a big diesel truck My Cossie has plenty of aftermarket manifold options that have been forged from their days in the WRC

Well, this just strengthens my view that the guy will never be back in an F1 car http://www.planetf1.com/news/3213/7423895/Kubica-Breaks-His-Right-Leg-During-Fall

I think Williams signing Senna could be a good move. I think he woul probably come cheap if not bring money, is hungry and I think he proved he may actually have some talent worth fostering. I would never have said that 12 months ago but considering no testing, no seat time and new team...he did amazing (i dont think that is overstating it) job at Renault. He needs to clean up his racing but I think he will be doing the job required of him at Williams... Hopefully some of the re-structuring going on at Williams will mean the cars speed will get to a place where if a driver like Senna cant deliver the speed and results, then the team will be attractive enough to a gun to come have a steer.

Yeh with a puny 8cm housing on my 18G it is smaller then my Greddy TD06 setup that I am retiring...but am curious to see if it makes more power then an RB20 2530 setup...but with the same if not better response then a 2530 setup. My TD06 is going off to get some fancy dildo spec alloy compressor so whilst its off being rebuilt will throw the 18G on and compare all 3 setups back to back over about a 2 week period. Greddy TD06-20G:8cm vs TD05H-18G:8cm vs TD06-73HTA. The claim is the new compressor on the 20G will give me T67 power with 20G response. Will see. If that claim proves wrong and with the new compressor comes extra lag then it may be interesting to throw in the T67-25G I have. Problem is trying to convince the tuner this will be interesting to him to see the merits of each turbo setup...otherwise I will be sinking 2k into tuning just out of curiousity In the back of my head I am curious to see what results the billet compressor gets as there are places in the US doign 68mm billet compressors for TD05H. That could work out to be a nice RB20setup, better response of TD05 but with 20G power

So I was going to go to a car audio specialist in Vic and get the work done but have decided I would roll up my sleeves and give it a go myself. The main reason I wanted the help of the experts was their assistance in piecing together a nice setup...but after a few poeple recently molesting my new car I would just rather do it myself. So peoples thoughts on these components: Deck: Pioneer DEH-8350SD http://www.pioneer.com.au/au/products/22/121/61/DEH-8350SD/index.html Amps: Either of the following 5 channel L5.1110 - http://www.soundstream.com/los/lil-wonder_amp.htm Kicker ZX700.5 http://www.kicker.com/ZX_Amplifiers Speakers: Front - Rockford T2652-S : http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/product_details.aspx?itemid=112907 If I get them out of the US they fall inside muy $350 budget. If I go local I am thinking T1S652 http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/product_details.aspx?itemid=112896 Rear - Rockford T1693 6x9s. http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/product_details.aspx?itemid=112902 Subs - I am still trying to work out a good quality 12" pre-boxed sub that will fit in the rear of the car. Rather go with a proven boxed sub from its manufacturer, as going custom puts me back looking at talking to a shop to fabricate the box for me. The car is an 87 Sierra Cosworth so will be getting custom pods for the front kick panels and new tray in the hatch to support the weight of the new speakers and hide the sub. I want to avoid installing the front speakers in the doors as I dont want to cut up immaculate door trims on an old car. Is that going to affect the sound I can expect from a reasonable quality front split setup? Budget is around $1100 plus sub box + materials and bits for install.

Whats the difference between the TD05 and TD06? I wouldnt think there is enough wheel difference to make a difference. Is it because the TD05-18G you used was the T518Z rip off so has a different design housing? Well I just ordered my TD05H-18G. Be interesting to see if backed to back with the TD06-20G. I am hoping I still make 250rwkws and hopefully make at least 25rwkws more at 4,500rpm.

Of course they do. Not many cars out there can be driven flat knacker lap after lap and not many guys out there have a pit wall full of people looking at the live data to get on the blower and tell them to look at problems. The reason why logger shave info on them with common alarm lights it to let the pilot know when temps are getting too high from too many revs, following the car in front too closely. Diff or gearbox temps getting too high. Oil pressure dropping...it may only happen on the straights when they have a fleeting moment to look...but I am sure they are looking at data otherwise why wodl they spend all that money on the dashes

But she is crazy hot...though should never speak Williams seems to be going the way of Tyrrel I know they exist as a race team that owns everything so dont have some of the pressures of other teams in debt or with need for infrastructure....but they are going backwards and have not had a very good season since Heidfeld-Webber where they were at least hunting podiums and top 5 finishes. They look at looong way from there these days. I really hope they turn it around in 2012, but even thought Maldanado wasnt terrible and Rubens can still get the job done on his day...but they need momentum and that means a top level driver, and a 203 year plan to build engineering staff and pace

Would A Track/race Gtr Be Faster With No 4Wd?
Roy replied to bigmikespec's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Those times still hold true for a fast GTR. Problem is there aren't any track only GTRs running around Vic...Most are fast street/track cars which are still 1-2 sec off the times you posted as full weight street cars on semis -
Spring Rates For Motorsport - What Do You Guys Have?
Roy replied to OLLIE_NZ's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
I would be guessing...i will say though that if you are running HKS Hypers they have pretty high rates to start with and not sure putting a different spring on them is really going to give a good result. I would personally even out the swaybars with the same brand out back....and save your money for some better shocks which come with the valving to suit spring rates suitable for slicks. -

Very interested. Can you throw up pictures that work. Is it currently removed from the car?

I am a bit nervous about handing the car over to people. New car itis and the first person to have touched it and charged me good money has hacked it up a little. I can do that with the best of them and it wont cost me anything. So , figure this will be a back to my youth thing and will do it all myself. Thanks for your advice though. I still need to buy the speakers and subs so may swing by a few places this weekend and listen to a few brands/models
