  1. Lay off guys. I think there are about 6 Skylines in the country that dont have bent chassis rails. I know mine are banged up from hoists and trolley jacks. I have also rounded shit loads of bolts. And dropped a car off jack stands/trolley jack with only 3 wheels on the car (iw was very , very late and we were all very tired) He isnt taking on any major works, jacking alloy nuts on a strut bar isnt going to damage the chassis...it may bend/shear a bolt as was the case... Start slow and research before you spin spanners and GO FOR IT. But as badharidave said, make sure you are jacking the car correctly and using the stands correctly. My old cheap trolley jack used to drop pretty quick and had to always put wheels under the car at a minimum if I had to get under the car at the track and didnt have stands. Wheels damage underside of car so using the stands of the front of the rear cradle, front tow hooks, castor rods, gearbox cross member or engine cross member is the go. It depends what I am working on as to which point i use for stands
  2. I cam barely get in/out of bed because the boxes are so big so need them gone so I can afford another set of seats
  3. What areas of the Falcon chew the money? Curious, as I woudl have thought they would be reasonably economical to run given their turn of speed
  4. Not sure what to make of Sutil. Hulk on paper will be interesting up against Di Resta. Would think that Mercedes will be looking at their respective performances and how Schuey is going
  5. I have only seen a back to back of a Trust TD06SH-25G vs HKS 3040 on RB25s, both with std bottom ends, Greddy inlets, baby 256 cams and Pfc. Very similar setup. The 25G was more responsive and made more power on the same dyno, Would be very curious to see the results of a good T67-25G vs HKS 3037/3076 comparison. I am not sure the 3076 would be a clear winner for out right performance
  6. Any pics or info on how the oil pump gears went in? Pressure differences ?
  7. Just man up and run so much boost that you dont even need a wastegate!
  8. I was only debating this week that I thought Dan would be at STR and any Red Bull money that was going to be used to fund seats at other teams would be used to find seat for the establised STR pilots in the hope that it will turn into a paid contract. So i am tipping Alguersuari at Caterham and Buemi out in the cold with a 3rd seat at RBR
  9. LOL, Ive have had my TD06-20G for 7 years. They were rocking horse shit in Aus when i put it on because of their "Truck turbo" reputation vs the swanky BB Garrets/HKS. They do seem to be everywhere in plague proportions these days and that because the results obviously speak for themselves Still...be a man and go Trust rather then Kando edit...if my car as stock I would go Kando...they are gaining a great reputation in their own right
  10. Already looks great. What wheels are you throwing at it?
  11. Do Spa and camp! Beauty of Europe. Everything is within driving distance
  12. Personally I am yet to see any dyno sheet of a TD06-20G (be is TD06S or TD06L2) make +300rwkws on 98 pump fuel. I would love to see some, especially SR20 plots as those that I have found and compared to my RB20 plot have been found to be wanting.... And has anyone ran one of those internal gate housings? They look horrible for effeciency?
  13. Cant believe you are starting down this road without supervision from an engineer
  14. Do it and get pics for us all to oggle over
  15. Yeh, I am in Spa in March...dont think I will be back that late in the year so German GP or one of the Spanish races. Spain may not be the greatest race spectacles but as far as a destination and some fun imagine it will be pretty good. Would love to do Silverstone but fark going back to the UK Spa has a few good spots to spectate but not much cover. So when (if) it rains make sure you have some wet weather kit. My pick of seats would be the downhill section after Bruxelles. A lot of the spectating points dont have stands so general admission tickets are an option...you just have to fight all the campers But if you have a pit pass you probably wont leave the start/finish area Someone should start a thread for OS F1 races in case a number of people are going. I am getting a car inspected next Wednesday so may have already sorted a car for the next European summer
  16. But is Abu Dhabi any different to Dubai? Not sure the circuit is all that good for spectating as long straights with slow corners? The V8s being there will help, and maybe if its a couples get away but not sure its the sort of city you can have too many laughs. The quad bikes in the dunes is fun though
  17. Depends what you are shopping for I guess? Pay off a local taxi driver to be your driver for the trip, throw him a retainer and he will be happy to follow you around. Considering Sat-Sun is GP, and its about an 8hr flight, you will be hard pressed to do any shopping unless you get an late Monday/overnight flight home. Then I suppose you can shop Monday. The main thing is the big Fri/Sat night with great food and beers/laughs. Go to the right part of town and the local pubs are good fun with a good mix of people. Just have to put up with the chain smokers at the pool tables
  18. Its a fair point. I was ready to enter this year and didnt care where I finished. I just wanted to give my car a punt and would be interesting to see where I cam against other rwd 2l road cars on semis. You pool together your own competition The reason I didnt do it as entry, tryes, brakes and travel meant that I could go hire a car and drive Zandvoort using FF points cheaper My point is for the money to just enter and try and get the most out of your setup its going to cost the same as a pretty cool 3-4wk OS holiday
  19. Dont do Italy! Spa isnt much better for spectating. I say do Hockenheim. I am probably doing the German GP next year...a friend suggested Abu Dhabi but not sure. If you want to do an OS race then I strongly recommend Malaysian GP. KL is a great city to play up in with a few friends, the GP tickets are pretty cheap and you can a great view of the circuit...many, many corners. Win win...and you can do it all in a 4 day weekend
  20. Its good info , so post away! I really want to like the PFC06. They are mega bitey but do give a great pedal feel. Its just I dont have ABS. I used a set of PFC01s in an old F40 setup and I liked them...PFC06 are meant to be similar to PFC01 but an endurance pad. So they may be more suitable if I was running a bigger GTR booster and smaller 324mm rotor. But on my setup they mean way too many brake lock ups. Hence my move to a low friction RB74. I can really jump on the pedal and get good modulation. I really want to find a cheap pad that works well with 343mm rotor and 4 pot caliper. Dont want to be paying $600 for pad
  21. Oh well, the MX5 owner who is far more experienced than me didnt know the Lotus was about to blow by as seconds earlier he had checked his mirror and didnt think it would closing that fast...and how do you know what was discussed at the driver briefing? Anyway mot meant to be an argumemrent...just an amazing vid
  22. I thought that a number of runs with the new pads would clean up the rotor?!?!? Not sure, have not had this problem before. It could be a simple case that I have gone from too race a pad which would glaze over because it never got up to temp...to too much a road pad that doesnt like the heat of the track. The lil RB74 is a pretty basic pad and when i pulled them out to de-glaze them by rubbing on concrete and see that the pad material is already cracking So, will just stop being a tight ass and get some pagids
  23. My Stoptech as the same size as Brembo F40s which are the same as std R33/34 GTR Brembos at 44/38mm. They are working only ok as I have run too racey a pad comound (endurance spec PFC06) and need to get the rotors ground to get rid of the old pad material as the new pads wont bed and i am getting uneven pad deposits
  24. Its a much of a muchness. I prefer the caliper to be two piece with with a boltable bridge rather than having to take the whole caliper off to change pads like with the Mono 6. The AP can also have a spacer plate put into it so that it can take V8 Supercar sized rotors, the extra 9mm diam isnt that big a deal its the extra 4mm in width...but you will be fine with cooling offered by the Alcon
