  1. You are on to something there. But the problem is you are talking 2k worth of GP tickets. I drove past Nurburgring the weekend of the GP this year on my way south to France...was tempted to go to the GP but the tickets for the Hungarian GP had already cost enough. In a way I was happy MW didnt win as I would have been gutted if he had got up and I had been too tight to pay for a ticket Didnt realise Belgium was so close to the previous GP next year. Traditionally Spa is the first race back from the mid year summer break.
  2. Thanks Woolls...the piston size is what I am most interested in and whether they change based on the rotor diameters they are paired with
  3. What time does a std R35 do? I 15s or something? Big improvement
  4. Lets be clear. An 87 Sierra, even with 6 pot APs, 420hp and plenty of love, care and maintenance is a bucket If you are not quite right in the head you will see that as part of its appeal....its loud, rather crude styling, rattly hatchback, loud-harsh engined appeal At the end of the day you get in it and grin like an idiot and again if you are soft in the brain you are proud to be seen in it. Having been a passenger/driven in all sorts of cars, including exotics...I cant think of too many other cars I would be proud to say I own ... like I said a little soft in the head and no doubt the reason I dont get as laid as often as most
  5. IT IS A SHOPPING TROLLEY!!!!!!!!!!! Just like the VL and VN, M3, R31 etc etc. The Grp A rules were for manufacturers to hot up mass produced cars after building a limited volume of the hotted up buckets to go racing. I loved the category, but Nissan cheated (were smarter?) and when they built the next model built a car around the regs. Can you imagine if the R32 GTR was just a later model R31 GTS-R still running an RB20 so it would be in the same class as the Sierra (2L, RWD) One day I will have an E30 M3 to go with my R32 and Sierra. If I can find the right M3 may have it as soon as May next year Though dont think I will ever have the money to get the VN Grp A...as much as I would love one
  6. If only Malaysia was the weekend after...its a good GP to go to...only i cant go that weekend
  7. I am 80% sure that if you put the same pad in your Brembos you would say the same thing. Pedal feel is all in the pad you use and the piston sizes. Which reminds me ... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/385180-k-spot-d2-attkd-etc/
  8. If anybody has a set of any of these can you please help me out with the following: Brand: Piston QTY: Rotor Size: Piston Diameters: Cheers
  9. Well, SKY team looks pretty shit LOL and Croft is a lead commentator ... i didnt mind him on the Red Button for practice sessions...but the main seat for races is completely different as you cant just talk gossip...you need to offer insight. Oh well....farewell BBC and will have to see what I do on the Fox front. Does anyone really know how it affects us Aussies with One HD?
  10. The braking force of the std brakes is fine...especially if you run race compound pads The problem is they cant handle the heat. So you need to throw as big a rotor as you can under your rims. Get a caliper with a good size and range of pads and this is all about heat management. If you have massive amounts of aero and downforce then you can consider trying to increase the braking force and reducing stopping distances. Its surprising to some with massive brake upgrades to rock up to a corner at the track and find that cars with well sorted std brakes and supension/tyres can actually outbrake them. So just work on absorbing and disspating the heat with your brake upgrade. You get shorter stopping distances with tyres and suspension that control the pitch of the car and suspension travel under braking loads. You dont shorten braking distances with brake upgrades
  11. And its no real decision...you woudl have to take this over the GTR...as cool as the GTRs are, they are just waay too much money when you can get this for 1/3 of the price Shame you cant paint it up in the earlier colour scheme
  12. Yeh, if the numbers I was told about the Japanese cars are correct then I think its going to take a Powerball winner to get one landed here and racing. Was it one of the usual suspects looking at the Calsonic car or a fresh face? I was told the other weekend that this is for sale...(Taisan) I am not 100% sure but I think the 1990 & 1993 winner was the Impul/Calsonic GTR. In 1991/1992 Hasemi Motorsport Hasemi Calsonic Interesting to see that Dunlop, Bridgestone and Tokohama all supported different GTR teams. In Aus the GIO cars often suffered being on Dunlops vs Gibson on Yokohamas...plus they were of course a customer car and somewhat privateer team
  13. Sorry, typo..yes lake Mulwala so 75kms. Although I just realised there is an SAU-NSW track day this weekend and I need to get up to Sydney for Xmas so not sure if I should do Winton or Wakefield whilst in transit home?!?!!?
  14. So one day for 3 forms of motorsport then a whole day of cars sitting around in the sun? Spread the events across two days and have a parc ferme where cars can be viewed. What the hell does a SNS have to do with competition cars anyway?
  15. Looks like you will never get this project finished...i think you should have a fire sale and concentrate on the Radical. I will give you 4k for the R33
  16. Its frustrating that the engine swap costs as much as the RB20...even though they are cheap you still dont like losing engines. By the time you put an oil flush through, coolant, oil, timing belt and swap over pumps or new pumps....plus your time...it sucks to lose an engine!
  17. I have heard of a few people having problems with spark plug tips...probably nothing to do with it but what plug gap were you running? These days I am mega delicate when gapping plugs as I would hate a plug tip to kill my mega dollar crate motor
  18. Brad, you usee Varigon or something similar? Man, talk about Rollys Royce approach. I like it. I am no welder but even I notice the difference when welding with Varigon. You can get away with way less amps and welds so much nicer. We have to use it in the pharma industry as otherwise you cant achieve a no heat tint fusion weld. ...the second I know when I will be in Syd over Xmas I will call...
  19. That PF1 post is a piss take. I would not assume Crofty is going to be part of Sky broadcast.
  20. The last of the Caltex Bond Sierras is for sale. Has all the late model post Grp A kit homologated so is lighter, 6 sps etc. The other is a Japanese Grp A car which would be interesting to get your hands in to see ince and for all how it lines up to the local GTRs
  21. So Sky to announce broadcasting team today....who will be joining Brundle? I hope DC is in there somewhere
  22. Eww K-Sport...the other ones are ok...the ones with the twin bolt bridge. I just hate the look, but they do seem to work well. But would still rather 6 pot Alcons on 380x35mm rotors
  23. Well I will be in...if you want to come and stay at my place at Mulwala then you are welcome...only 5kms from Winton...
