Story going around that Trulli's 2012 contract is not necessarily a race contract and with RBR giving them rear ends etc then Vergne or Disco Dan could be in the Caterham in 2012 Meanwhile Vergne saying he could do the same job as Webber. Webber 0.2sec quicker than Vettel, Vergne 0.6 seconds of Jaime ...he's dreaming

That ANDROID GPS thing for my phone doesnt work because the shitty Samsun GPS doesnt pick up the signal and always drops out. Means I have to use my data logger if I want any speeds/times etc

Close...I am waiting for Jenvey to give me some pricing for my YB. This is a Mountune Barrel injection setup. 4 injectors in the inlet and 4 above the trumpets for staggered firing. With the barrel throttles vs butterflies. Its about 8k of inlet

Aussie Supersprint 2011 Eastern Creek
Roy replied to R32 Stuart's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
This thread was more fun when people were taking the piss But being serious for a moment...I am with mlr I swap and change between what I would love to do. A friend was selling his 944 Challenge car about 3 years ago and it was a top 10 State Series car with room for improvement. I was so tempted to buy it but the fear of $$$ from actual racing and rubbing and wanting to beat others means it would have stretched my talent and worse of all possibly damaged others cars costing them $$$$. So I passed....thinking about its often cheaper to run in Group Nc and have a car that you can circuit race, tarmac rally and sprint in. Or a class like 944. It isnt always expensive. Who is going to knock you in a twin cam Mk 1 Escort or RX3 etc if you rocked up to a Supersprint. I think the issue comes when you rock with up with ex FIA/ or National level race cars that I have an issue. Not because they are quicker or wealthier or better steerers...but being just quick enough to generally get thrown in the quickest group means I have to worry about cars that are 4-8 sec a lap quicker than me and they are not always so understanding of others in traffic. So if put in a different group means that is an extra class to run for the day, being a Sprint round and running a group for race cars will most likely impact the amount of sessions I get (being a slower street car) Just some general thinking. More than going quick I really try to learn race craft and traffic management. Its part of the reason I jump at the opportunity to sit and drive with a pretty top tier race driver instructor in the UK when I can. I think I have learnt so much from him but work in progress. Understand how to let the quick cars past without ruining my lap times and manage the traffic...which if I ever race will come in handy. But in the meantime it sure helps reduce the stress on busy circuits. I have noticed many of the race guys who are quick are heavy handed at Sprint days who ignore the stewards requests "only overtake on the straights or when you have been waved through or positive they have seen you" and even though I am looking in mirrors fark me they can come from nowhere pretty quick especially when for the last 5-10 seconds you are observing a car in front looking to pass...then in an instant CLOSE CALL -
Real men run 7.2:1 compression and 30psi. Well at least that's how the Poms do it

R32 or R33? R32 clashes on mine. Not paying 3 times what my engine is worth for a ti one either May attack my Whiteline one with a welder and see what I can butcher up Thanks people

You are all wrong. Us loyal to the RB20 know that if you have problems with the RB20 in your car....and you chose to replace it with another wrecker RB20....the Nissan gods ensure that the motor you get from a wrecker for $400 is special and will outperform the original engine. Its a proven formula. You stay loyal to the RB20....then there is an engine in a wrecker waiting for a new dad and the opportunity to give its all for its faithful owner.

5'10" - 5'11" But height is a little misleading. You need to sit on a bench and get a straight rule and measure from your tailbone to shoulder and compare to Sparco size sheet

E85? What boost you got up it? Is it just a matter of 9.0:1 compression with a head shave, port clean up, boost and E85?

I suspect part of the make up of GTR owners vs Porsche owners is the modifying aspect. Nissans have always been one of the more tunable cars around. And the GTR enjoys the sort of aftermarket support not seen by Porsche owners. Sure there are plenty of parts adn tuners of Porkas, but 15K exhaust systems etc etc normally see most Porsches 95% std. Ditto Ferraris etc. But buy a Nissan and you can go to work on them as though a blank canvas. Still, from what I can tell the GTR needs to get back out and get a laptime at the Ring as its slower then the Viper, ZR1, LFA, GT2 etc. Price or not, if you are going to claim its faster then seems thats the yardstick these days

Meh, my tips are in and Webz will win the final race of the year from Massa then Hamilton!

Yeh the Mar-M 247 turbine wheel is meant to be a good thing for high pressures and higher then normal temperatures. The shock loading of anti lag and launch control doesnt affect them as much as well

From the pics I have seen the MP4 in GT3 trim and warpaint looks AMAZING. The road car lacks a bit of the drama I had hoped from a new McLaren road car. But you appreciate the detail and design of the thing, but think it loses out in looks to others cars in its price bracket

Need to sell these to fund new seats. Offers?

So all this billet wheel fluff, does it mean the general garret turbo is now getting the same compressor as the motorsport range of turbz such as the TR30R etc?

Aussie Supersprint 2011 Eastern Creek
Roy replied to R32 Stuart's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
This is entertaining. Part High School Debate, part lunch time I suggest to those that take Supersprints seriously enough that it results in this sort of debate/animosity ... www.awardsandtrophies.com.au/Select/s24/MotorSport.aspx Just go buy a trophy OR go race door to door in something like Saloon Cars or 944s and realise that being a good steerer puts you with about 85% of the guys doing it. Just don't run me off the road when I am 8 seconds a lap slower then you and you think IO should take to the grass to let you through. -

Well looking at those fancy R32s, Series 6/7/8 RX7s and S14s etc running around in your Improved prod class, they are only doing 1:04s! And from memory all the big bangers in the top 10 at the WA Dutton Rally were generally only 62 sec mark -
Registration Costs For Imports

Thanks> Vic is looking pretty good. But I want to pull my old plates out of retirement from NSW...but also want new plates for this car. I think the only answer is to buy a 3rd car -
The worlds most handsome F1 driver has decided he is best to sit out 2012 so who will be sitting alongside the worlds second most handsome F1 driver? Thinking about it, Renault in 2010 had one ugly line up. To think after all those pretty boy ING ads with Alonso and PK Jr...they end up with the East European Mafia in black Bonds shirts, gold chains and big noses

Just dont tell too many people in Vic that simple bushes in the rear ends of S13/R32 is the way to go for great traction. I am posting vids of PI up this weekend. You will be amazed by the power down in 2nd gear with attitude on the car. Keen to see you vids...your times are mighty quick
