  1. You CANNOT give those plates away! They need to go on your car!!!! Best plate I have seen !
  2. And just hunting around the UK for some bits for my YB Cosworth build, it seems these rip off manifolds are already being flogged by various UK shops who probably dont even realise they are a rip from an Aus product
  3. When I was at the Ring in August I saw a few. Also saw a black one in Zurich! To look at up close they are amazing. Driving down the street the silver ZR1 I saw minutes later in Zurich and the 458s at the Ring are better looking cars.
  4. As I float between States with work, I am not sure whether I should register my car in NSW, Vic or QLD. Is one state better for registration than another. I was shocked to see that in Vic they want me to pay stamp duty on rego, despite my having owned the car OS and having the rego papers to prove it was in my name abroad. Is NSW the same with regards to having to pay stand duty? Qld?
  5. Or go to watch the GT races at a place like Sepang...I apologise for being a little arrogant but you know you can do a better job then the HK businessman that has flown in for the "Round". Doing that class of racing in Asia would be a laugh. There was one guy who was obviously talented starting from the back of the grid in a GT3. By 3/4 race distance he was in the lead. Watching hum under brakes into the final corner where I was sitting was a laugh. He was braking it appears at the correct location. Most cars were braking 50-100mtrs before him. It wasnt obvious until he smashed past them all under brakes. So many fat cat gentlemen racers. Cant wait to see them trade the F430s for 458s and their Lambos for Mclarens and see how many get carnaged.
  6. I was going to get tickets for Brabham stand but looks like I am in Belgium the week after so best save my money As for old school merch. I already am the daggiest dresser you will meet with old/new car fluff. Most is based around Porsche, Gulf and Steve McQueen
  7. I really hope Grosjean gets the nod. If he takes over I will start wearing my Renault-Lotus jacket with a little more pride. He is my boy! I originally bought the Lotus top because I was boycotting the c0ck gargling RBR team, and I have a sfot spot for Petrov. I admire Petrovs fighting ability and he is genuinely very good at defending position and has some pace. But overall I think in his second season alongside Heidfeld and more recently Senna he hasnt shown he has any speed advantage in either quali or race over Senna, an inexperienced rookie as such. So I think on merit you would have to pout Senna and Grosjean in the seats for next year. But I suppose Petrov will be haging around which all in all will make for my team to support next year. As for Vergne, he has done some solid results mixed with impressive performances. I think Disco Dan needs to get his head down and keep a march on the 12 months head start he has over him, as if nothing else his political power mixed with his ability and determination could see him jump Dan. As to who is the better prospect ? Who knows but it could very well be Vergne But, then again we could see a straight fight between the two RBR proteges next year... http://joesaward.wordpress.com/2011/11/21/de-la-rosa-signs-for-hrt-interesting-timing/
  8. Yeh, but they are no Ford Cossie. I mean where is all the rust in the body and leaking oil?
  9. So sticking with the 20 or are you going to start hanging out on the corner of school grounds with boiled lollies like all the other R32 RB25 deviants?
  10. Smart man! Always get picks of your car at the gates of race tracks you visit. I always forget and regret it
  11. Looking at the times Simon's car is doing then I dont think there is that much wrong with the Greddy Type S shocks he is running. An S15 did an easy 1:44 at PI the other day with Greddy Type R shocks, before its engine gave way. So again must be reasonable if doing those times so easily. Simon's thread isnt really the place, but I think Tein make fair, good and very good gear...Off the shelf Bilstein are a good flexible product, that can be valved to suit pretty serious applications. Just like ECUs and tuning, if you are going to play with suspension best put your belief in the shop that has runs on the board with that type of setup with plenty of proven results
  12. But what about the 4-5 DNFs~ I would still take a big lazy pushrod V8, flat 6 or V10/V12 over something that has to pull 9,000rpm for 24 hours. Still, was watching them at Spa a few weeks back. They are great looking things! Cant imagine the budget it would take to run one vs the Viper or Porsche
  13. That doesnt mean the spring rate is wrong. It means your shocks are too rubbish for the level of performance/grip you desire If you are running a POS pogo stick brand of shock then it doesnt matter what spring rate you throw at it...it will be rubbish. Run a basic Bilstein or Koni and get them valved to suit a higher rate spring and it will be fine. I run Tein RAs, was going to revalve my old Bilsteins but grabbed these as they have allow bodies. My car doesnt get wheelspin even in second on the street. Good tyres, good alignment and reasonable quality shocks and you can put 300rwkws to the ground without a lot of fuss. Dont see the point of running the cheap coil overs. If you are spending $1200 may as well save up and spend 2k for a far better result. Then you can run whatever spring rate that suits the grip of tyre you run.
  14. Whilst doing my usual hunt for RB20 parts I came across this. Thought I would post it up in case someone thinks they are buying a $100 Plazmaman plenum off somebody, then there is now a chance it could be a knock off http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-RB20DET-RB20-SKYLINE-R32-GTS-INTAKE-MANIFOLD-PLENUM-RB20-TOP-INTAKE-MANIFOLD-/190603578858?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2c60dbcdea#ht_5164wt_1037
  15. Yeh, so many S13/R32s etc all complain about not being able to get 180-200rwkws to the ground and these days I automatically assume its because they run "fully-sik" all sub frame bushes.
  16. How was traction...did you get around to changing anything
  17. How in the hell did you warp a head though? The motor must have been cooked at one point or another. I had a session where a lower hose came off my radiator and the coolant temp sensor was reading air temp whilst the car was at speed around Calder. As soon as I backed off and started my cool down lap the coolant temps shot up over 110deg C at which point I had no option but to shut it down hot. Got to the pits , fixed the hose and started filling it with hot tap water and started engine to circulate. 20,000kms the engine is still ok....so it must take a bit to warp a head! Provided the base engine doesnt have issues you can push a 20 pretty hard on the dyno. We pull safe 275rwkws, cant get it to keep pulling higher numbers with more ignition when all the temps get up high like they would on the track
  18. Mine lost a bit under 30rwkws when i plumbed back the gate
  19. I bought these seats and have only just opened them up to look and trial fit them on the floor of my living room. I love these seats and a little gutted that for my frame size the shoulder harness opening is a little too low for me. So no good and need to look elsewhere for a different style of seat. Comes with brand new OMP alloy side mounts. Actual seat Mounts Seat info http://www.revolutionracegear.com.au/index.php?PCID=10409&PSO=245&PSID=4464006920&PSV=Primary&CDO= http://www.sparcousa.com/pseats_comp.asp?id=656 Two available, Asking $1200 each inc mounts.
  20. End thread I am working on the fat and working on earning more money. Cant wait until i rock up in my ex FIA GT3 Ford GT Which is just a kit car I built in my garage running a 302
  21. Webber simply isnt doing the job required of him this year. Its no crime, but it is disappointing for his fans and no less him But, you have to laugh, last year with the cold blown diffuser and last years tyres Webber was consistantly beating Vettel RBR-Renault sort the hot blown diffuser, car becomes easier to drive and Vettel catches pace on Webber. Then compounded by this years tyres and Webber is struggling to beat the Ferrari and McLaren, I am not sure there is that much in it. Webber is a good qualifier but cant turn on the tyres. Vettel is the master of it. Button, Webber, Alonso, even Hamilton cant match his ability to turn on the tyres and get a close to perfect lap. I think the McLaren and RBR are very even cars. You only have to look at their respective race paces and amount of GP wins to see that they have the equal car, especially with the 2011 spec gadgets and their straight line speed over the RBR...the cars work out even in a race. Ferrari is definitely slower then the Mac and RBR
  22. I just want fibreglass. I am going to vinyl wrap the front end of the car so no point getting carbon
  23. Just looked up nismo strut braces and couldnt see any master braces
  24. Cool, another SAU-Motorsport Fight thread. I will add, the smart thing to do is buy an already engineered car for a song and go quick. But when you develop and build something, which is hopefully quick you will always get folk viewing the efforts differently. I am pretty slow by the times people do these days but everyone always comments its way fast for an RB20. Point is its slow and I have spent a fair whack on the car. Perception is it should be slow. V8 Supercar, call it whatever you want in 2011 terms, but its an ex front running Supercar from a Championship winning team. Now back to the State of Origin flame wars. Anyone with more then a std OE Nissan 2L engine is a filthy cheat in my books
  25. Nice vid and great work getting out there and punting it. I will add, though and I am not trying to be overly critical as me... I am a 100% armco eater at the track...but do waaay more braking before downshifting! Your car control looks great, just work on the braking way harder and longer before down shifting. You will kill bottom ends like a CHAMPION if you forever engine brake and pin high revs on the downshifts. (my opinion only )
