  1. Not the rotors. Its all tied back to the Performance Friction PFC06 pads I was running. They didnt like street driving and resutled in uneven pad deposits on the rotors. Then the problem was I didnt get the rotors ground when installed RB74s so had problems bedding the new pads because the old PFC06 material was still on the rotor. This mean the RB74s kept glazing. So after every session I removed the pads and gave them a rub on the concrete and all was good for a few laps until they glazed over again. Each session they got better, I am expecting at PI this weekend I may have to do it one more time but I think I have just about all the old pad material removed y just general use
  2. So car is booked in for rail install the week after next. About time I get the rails from underneath teh desk at work and in the car. Keen to get the interior finally sorted in my car....though a little sad that this will mean the demise of the ability to install road seats New weld in chrome moly mounts New OMP side mounts And new Sparco seat
  3. Pm me your number Matt we can catch up for a quiet one on Fri night.
  4. I need to change the oil in the 32 before Phillip Island this week. Pretty sure that will remove the desire from building a DR30 rather then hire cars and giggles
  5. Really? I am running the same spring rates (albeit with different shocks) and my car is fine. In fact I think it could be lacking a little spring all round and considering going up in spring rates now that I dont have my larger swaybars. Tossing and turning over that decision, I either need my old swaybars back or more spring. I dont think 8 & 6 on shocks that are of reasonable quality and condition are a problem on a GTSt running good quality semi slicks? I used to run what you propose spring rate wise on my old Bilsteins and on semis it scraped its door handles on the ground in the bends.
  6. Yep, sure it will be no problem as long as you kick in for the 1600 fund
  7. Well I am in for the Saturday. More running and longer sessions means I can finally get to do some laps and build up to some smooth laps. Will see what mood I am in after Saturday as not sure how much tyre I will have left after Saturday/ I am staying at Smiths Beach so will need to catch up, I am down on Friday afternoon having a swim and chilling
  8. Thats why I love the Schroth. Was in and out of a friends rally car and they are so easy to adjust....no kicking and screamign trying to tighten the lower belts because a different person has jumped in the car
  9. And if you are going to install rails for a race seat don't use the Bride Low Max or whatever they are called. Use the other Bride rails which seem to be better for race seats ie Don't use this one. I do and they are farking garbage. I have twice welded gussets and whilst it gets better , the saying "you cant chrome dog shit" comes to mind You can see where the side mount goes that it is essentially one big cantilever and easily distorts with some load on it These are the ones that are generally better from what I have been told. Though I have wiped them all and going back to custom...
  10. GTR OE is hollow vs Whiteline solid so slightly different. You wont find Whiteline part numbers for the bars that Russel runs. Like I said they are my old custom ones and not off the shelf catalogue items. When you factor in the money for deliveyr etc and their generally cheap price. Just buy a set, that way you have a proven swaybar receipt.
  11. Edit. Just ask yourself do you really need a harness in your car. Are you really going to track it. A seat and harness install can be very dangerous if not done correctly.
  12. HUH?
  13. I am with Duncan on most points. However with R34 seats you are really limited to running a 4 point harness. You can buy a 4 or 6 point but the reality is you cant use the crotch strap on a std R34 seat. So unless you have plans of going to a race seat then I am not convinced you need to incur the price premium over a 4 point harness as you are limited by seats. I personally think you are wasting your money going to Nismo harness, especially when you can have a top quality schroth, Willans, Sparco/Sabelt etc harness. If I could justify the money I think the Schroth Profi II-Enduro is about the best out there. My budget is only $800 for two harnesses as I am shopping for a set for my new seats. Having a daily R34, your best bet is a full harness bar that bolts behind the back seat, renders your back seat useless, but a harness bar or half cage are IMO a miniumum if you want to safely run a harness in a Skyline. So from there its jsut a matter of getting a harness that you like, try to get good quality alloy buckles and quick release straps.
  14. Must be something to do with being white I hope all is well with Neil and car. It was mighty impressive the progress he was making. With some luck its finished and will soon be able to be enjoyed after all that labour
  15. Hmmm, I can't complain in life. I mean I do, endlessly. But when I sit back and consider that what i toss and turn at night considering is do I pony up the money for Near Life Experience 2012 or a Tarmac Spec DR30. Sadly there is only so much money in this world. I suppose I could flog off the Sierra before I get too emotionally attached to it. LOL, I go through this before/during/after each major rally
  16. Russman has my old custom swaybars which are bigger then anything you can buy off the shelf. With regards to not liking to run Whiteline bushes in the rear end? What is so different about your geometry that bushes cant give you the correct alignment? Hell my rear geometry is just fine and I have fixed inner and adjustable outer bushes. Must be something different in the lengths of arms you have run
  17. September issue_590???
  18. Looks like I will be putting my entry in tonight. Just a few small things to fall into place So there is Ant and Snowie on Sunday, Richo...but anyone doing the Satursday? I want as many laps as I can get.
  19. Yeh, I have a very basic rear end in my GTSt, not the sort of torque you have with the T67/RB25 but with 17" Semis my car doesnt wheel spin in 2nd let alone 3rd. I would bin the LCAs and even the upper arms, if you still have the std arms then just throw a bush set in them. If you want I can send over a set of upper arms with adjustable bushes in them that you can trial. Using std bits may mean your car isnt the quicket corner speed wise, but you wont be the slowest. And you can be assured the car will generally be well behaved. The slowest guys are the often the ones with all the stuff under the sun in them and as a package it just doesnt seem to work. Hell if you ask nicely I may even send over a spare Whiteline front swaybar for you to trial if you want
  20. LOL, there is 12-15k just there

  22. Well i think the best starting point would be to get a proper wheel alignment in the rear end since you have all those adjustable arms. From there I would also be replacing the alloy cradle bushes with Whiteline type bushes and angling the cradle. The reason I have never installed my alloy bushes is you lose the ability to tilt the subframe and i generally credit the power down of my car to this simple mod of keeping it simple. Also, i would throw away the bigger rear GTR swaybar. Either go std all round or get some Whiteline ones all round
  23. What have you got in the way of diff, cradle bushes, and arms. You are running Greddy shocks arent you? What spring rates and swaybars have you got. Ride heights? I think we would all be guessing but if there was some in car video you could get an idea of just how throttley it is in the corners.
  24. Watching the race again last night. It seems Lewis is playing victim so much that stewards are finally backing off out of pity/sorrow for the guy. In Japan he runs a guy off the road after driving up to a corner in the middle of the road and uses the ewxcuse that I was unsighted and didn't realise he was there. Yet coming up to a far faster corner where there is no opportunity for a braking duel Lewis has a go and cant get out of it quick enough and Massa gets penalised. Looking back now I think the call was far harsher then when I first saw it. So sick of Hamo and his BS> Used to be c0cksuredness and arrogance. Now its playing victim and having a sook
  25. Great vid. You really have the car hooked up and driving it well. Did you get any footage of Winton? I am curious to see if I am losing that much to you in corner speed
