I know, its the wallpaper on my laptop and phone Yeh, I looked at an early model one to buy and import rather then the Sierra, but bit like the E30 M3 they lack the grunt to be entertaining, as you cant punt the things to their max on the street with regards to braking and cornering. They do look the part with the guard lips and wild wings.

Love the ZED, is that a Cosworth plenum as well? When I was working in Singapore a friend had a crate Cosworth engine in his ZED...went well and sounded AWESOME

The Jags were part of the Classic Endurance Race. There were plenty of E-Types as well as Low Drag Coupes (which are to die for)

Elsewhere around the pits there were some other cool things....most of all, the watch that almost had me handing over my credit card. I am a huge Steve McQueen fan...I have my Steve McQueen jacket, now i need the watch I shudder to think what this thing is worth

As part of the race meet Porsche had a massive stand and had what must be close to my dream, cool daily driver. Immaculate condition, old school, with some period racing bits to make it cool And of course a classic race meet wouldnt be the same without 80s Touring Cars

Hey, some get married and buy houses...others hold on to their youth for grim death So whilst we were in Germany we hung around for a few days. We were lucky enough to see all the historics racing at Nurburgring at the Old Timers meet. We had to go to Frankfurt (a shit hole full of drugs and nasty hookers...) to drop Jarrod at the airport. Me and Lee hung around for a few more days going back to Nurburgring for more laps and a small tour through Brussels and Belgium on the way back to the train at Calais The biggest problem about the Old Timers meet is the fact that you can probably afford some of the cars. So if you are a diehard for old cars they will haunt you for weeks, dreaming of owning one of these buses, living in Europe and competing at legendary race tracks against other very cool cars

Where did you get your brake caliper bracket from? My god it clocks the caliper around a hell of a lot

Compomotive Rim Refurbishment Options

Just arrange for it all yourself. Get online and find a metal finisher in your area. They will drop the wheels in a bath and strip the paint. The you can can give them a good run with red scotchbrite....though with those wheels you may be better off just giving them a light hit with a media blast (may not be required if the the paint strips easily / powder coating comes off pretty easy, the anodized type paint finish of Rays wheels is a pain in the ass to strip. Then go to your local powder coat guy and get them in whatever colour you want. -
I think Kimi is plenty motivated to drive a car as fast as possible. What I think he has no time for is all the media appearances and fluff associated with beinga driver in F1. I am sure Williams will be nowhere near as demanding of his time then McLaren and Ferrari. I think he was still plenty motivated in his last season at Ferrari. you only have to look how bad Fisi was in the same car to realise just how bad the car was....remembering that Fisi almost beat Kimi at Spa in a Force India a few GP earlier....he could not get anywhere near Kimi when in the same car. And as the year rolled on without Massa and the car setup went towards Kimi then the pace improved.

Nothing is ever perfect and everything is a compromise. Cars do three basic things and a mix of all at times. The accelerate, the corner and they brake. A tyre that is good at one may not be good at the others or even all three. Generally more sideall will give you better longitudinal grip, braking and power down...but if you are trying to go through corners as well..... like I said, everythings is a compromise. Frankly, a low profile 19" car should work perfectly fine if its a good quality tyre and your suspension is set up for it. If you have big, baggy side walls then you can generally run harder suspension as the tyre acts as a damper. If you have low profile tyres with no side wall then you need more compliance in your suspension

LOL. my car does back flips at the best of times. Not sure I like this whole $2 DRS system on a car that I am driving. I suppose it can be fixed into position though

Isnt that graph in hp? Based on my experience of my car on his dyno makes a lot more sense then the claim of 305rwkws. The below is my car on an old 235rwkws Racepace tune that equaled about 244rwkws on his dyno. Not long after this I went back to Racepace and we leaned on the tune a little more with 100ron and made a comfortable 260rwkws (track tune) So Based on finding 25rwkws on the Racepace dyno lets call it 245+25rwkws on Dr Drifts dyno....so about 270rwkws

The gurney flap would make a difference. But a dual plane wing is technically a better solution. You need one of these...but woudl cost waaaaay more But, truth is I dont pretend to know that much about aero. To me its all wank for 99% of us. We end up with ugly cars with parachutes attached...but there are a few basic concepts that seem best to follow

Even though i have two bootlids I would rather not have either of them drilled full of holes that are not being used. They are both re-sprayed body colour and if running the winged bootlid I still want the car to look neat
-
There are twin blade R33 rear spoilers. Pretty rare and expensive when you find them. Think they were a Nismo option or off the 400R
-
Thanks for the heads up. It would be good if I could put a leading edge lip on the front of my undertray. Will e easy to do, only problem is I drive my car daily so god knows the Cossie is a nightmare being only 50mm off the ground...dont want the R32 to be the same so would have to be removable for daily driving duties....the ideal solution I have is too expensive so wont go there
-
Well, I have a front undertray, though its not on the car at the moment as it makes a wheel alignment a pain and I need to get the car aligned and the oil cooler installed properly as the panel beater all that time ago didnt have the time to mount it properly. Also makes it a pain to get to the brake air guides etc which I can now finally finish because the Stoptechs are on and never coming off So when the boot lid goes on I will have the undertray on
-
I have two bootlids, one is plain, the other has the std R34 GTR wing on it. I only did a 6-8 laps at Winton with the rear spoiler and I dont think it makes much of a difference. When I get a chance I want to throw the wings and boot lids on a trailer and test one day at Winton...since I am moving to within a 45min drive of Winton for a project there are going to be plenty of Friday practices that I run down for

Yeh, looking at those photos there is more space then first appeared on tv. Thats racing on a street circuit

I did just lost the plot with a coughing, laughing fit watching the first 45 seconds....nice work Martin. I LOVE the commentary. I guess that was your first session -
R34...my rear boot lid is drilled for the R34 wing currently installed so would like to use the existing holes

Voltex, Cusco...does anyone know whats a reasonable product that I can source locally? Or if I have to import one, a place where I wont be charged a fortune for freight Something along the lines of...

Yeh, the compressors are meant to be new and billet. Some of the US guys say they are mainly a Garret turbo so who knows where the 20G name basis comes from. Some inducate its a TD06L2 turbine with Garret centre and custome compressor...I cant really find out to be truthful.
-
The billet wheels are meant to be lighter, and flow more for no increase in diameter. How is that a bad thing? Also the water cooled cartridge is a thing I would like as well. Dont get me started on BB vs non-BB, I was saying there was more to a turbo then being BB back in 2003 when i went my TD06 instead of 2835 and i copped years of flack for not going HKS but instead going "TRUCK TURBO" {lol, and proud}... so agree on BB meaning little. But a newer compressor that they seem to rate for an extra 20hp that would mean better transient response ... why wouldnt you ask for it...ditto the water cooled centre????? ...that all said, if there was only a few dollars in it, wheels, housings etc all the same....I would still like a BB centre over a plain bearing turbo. Provided the cartridge is of good quality
