Especially when they are not even races

Yeh, my problem is my Skyline is still a road car and after 14 years of club/track work it had really taken its toll and so much of it was worn and need replacing. Woudl have bene easier to go and buy a neat std R32 and put my good gear in it and go dedicated track R32..but meh...when the R32 is back on the road it will be a tidy and reliable bus and hopefully a tad quicker than it used to be to boot

Amazing work...huge crecit to you to be getting the results you do. You almost motivate me to get my car back out there but tired of being broke

Modified -9 Turbo, What Would This Behave Like?
Roy replied to No Crust Racing's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Sounds like a winner...worth a try as on paper seems an interesting combo. Who does it? Its your street car so doesnt really matter if its out by 100-200rpm and 10-20rwkws...still be ball achingly fast for a street car -
Brake Upgrade Front Only Bias Issues?
Roy replied to LuckyTune's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Its part of the reason why AP 6 pots are such a great upgrade for R32s with bigger rotors. Get more pad area, get more rotor so it all dissipates heat miles better than std but uses small pistons to reduce some of the braking torque you are gaining by going to a bigger rotor and better pads. So two steps forward and one step back means you still end up with nice front to rear balance on an R32 with std booster/masters. If you go to a caliper with bigger pistons, and bigger rotor and higher u pad well you are doing 3 things that are all going to increase your front braking torque and in turn front bias meaning you are going to be locking brakes like a champion. ABS masks a lot...those of us without ABS tend to be a little more "canary in a tunnel" and sensitive to the differences between various setups -
Brake Upgrade Front Only Bias Issues?

AP 6 pots hydraulically are actually a lot smaller than R33 GTR Brembos -
Umm..changing the corner may have something to do with Senna ending up on his lid there!

Whilst the track has been dumbed down a bit i still enjoyed. Bring back Imola and can Bahrain and i would be stoked. Actually...this gringo is starting to think the Mexican GP may make next year's travel itinerary

Fark me...Louise's smugness is intolerable this weekend

Hoping to ge a set of these unloved GTR turbos. PM if you have some on the go
-
Huh? -9s are bankable bolt on responsive 330rwkws....or not bolt on GTX headache turbos that require machined comp covers or custom pipping and 22psi + to really differentiate themselves from the GT series to get their best out of which on 98 will stll be capable of making +75rwkws more all on a std engine doesnt sound the logical alternate route to take....??? Dan if you only want 330rwks then just get teh -9s or the GT-SS, slap em on , tune em up and away you go . By the time you buy a set, get them machined, balanced with the cost of the new compressors etc....its end up way more expensive and at the end of the day you sound like you are only the boost you need to make 330rwks on a std engine on 98. As for reswponse and power...well the smaller -9s will spool quicker byt make less power...no beating basic physics when they are all the same family of turbo

Keeping Under My Bonnet Looking Standard (r32 Gtr)
Roy replied to mr_rbman's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Don't complicate things.Just grab Nismo AFMs since you are running N1s. Easist way to go when everything is weighed up IMO. The re-tune on the Nistune would be a breeze to boot -
So disappointed in Rosberg. I like the guy...feel when he chats to reporters he is doing so with a straight bat....vs his team mate that talks rubbish trying to promote the persona he wants to portray on the day. More importantly....drivers make mistakes but guys like Rosberg, Alonso, Button, Vettel , Bottas all go wheel to wheel as tough racers without the chop. Think about Bahrain last year. It was good racing as when Homo was off line and challenging Rosberg left him room only to be bashed into and forced off track by Homo. It takes away from the racing. So i got straight away what Britney was trying to achieve at Spa last year. Poorly executed but unferstand the line needs to be drawn somewhere and after Hungary he tried (poorly) to make a statement. So again today when Homo and "his sorry but its ok for me to drive other people off the road" start? Would have been great to see Britney comecaway with the win What killed me as just like at Monza last year Rosberg threw it away. Something you dont see Rosberg generally doing when under pressure from other drivers...just Homo. Like i said they all make mistakes...but Rosberg has made his second big mistake by throwing away his chance to win. Now post race he has to say to Toto and Lauda that no more....just like Wanka, i mean Senna and Prost...next time Rosberg just needs to put the car on the line and take his chances by putting Louise to the sword. I reckon get young Max in there...he would give him a Valentino... " i look at him and say fark...what the fark are you doing..." and give him a haircut

Rosberg...my god drisgraceful!

Rb25 Neo Setup & Modification Advice Ideas
Roy replied to Ke55pig's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
310 to 320rwkws should be a breeze with the 10cm housing. I made 310 on an RB20 with an 8cm housing If its a street car put an 8cm housing on it and with E85 if there is a tad too much back pressure it wont matter. on 98 the backpressure woudl hold it back and make it puing with boost and exhaust but with E85... I know the 8cm housing on the 20G on my RB25 was EPIC. -
Yeh, they are pretty cool things...but I actually prefer to MXL and MXL2 vs the MXS. The colour LCD are too playstation and I suppose I am just liking in the past of the Pi dash being what a dash logger should look like
-
So will the English prat Palmer get his ass handed to him by Pastor? I doubt it but hope so. i like jim a tad more than James Calado which is really saying they are all tools from different shelves! How guys like Frijns sit on the bench while...ok. Its the weekend and I should relax

Will be interesting to see how the 0.42A/R compressor cover goes vs the 0.60. I think others have mentioned the lower A/R may not match the higher pressure ratios of the GTX compressor. Keen to see results!

Rb25 Neo Setup & Modification Advice Ideas

I made 310rwkws with a TD06-20G on an RB20 with E85. Having run a T67 and TD06 and a billet 73HTA-TD06 on my RB25 I personally rate the 20G or the 73HTA better than the T67. Spin 20psi through one and you will make 320rwkws with a crap load more mid...though you will find you dropping the rev limit to 7,500rpm as the show is over by then. If I can get a 10cm I will be putting the 20G back on my car and selling the T67 -
Awesome! I have had my car so long now I remember back to 2004 when I thought i was the cool kid with my race seat and (new at the time) MyChron Gold LOL, time for me to get with the times

RBR have very good mechanical grip , or so they say. I did say chassis, which is suspension and aero etc. Anyway, difference of opinion I guess. The Renaults would look positively slow if it wasnt for the McLarens getting around. I suppose this weekend may tell us a thing or two about their chassis I didnt realise until the weekend that Vettel has actually overtaken Rosberg in the WDC. I suppose if we get lucky Homo will get a run of DNF aand car problems like Rosberg has endured of late
-
So RBR sector times at Spa anf Suzuka and their pace in Hungary and Singapore...they are showing some serious pace when you consider what max speed, speed trapand sector time thre FIA publish after rounds. Hopefully Nismo dadge Renault engines and Mecachrome crank out this ew engine which talk has the single cylinder test platform is a Big improvement over current ICE
-
And fair enough. I dont blame Fezz or Merc...i blame the rules. Shame you dont have independent engines by Cosworth, Renault, Honda in an environment where they can actually develop to get competitive with the right budget
-
RBR dug the hole ... no doubt. But i say BS to chassis argument. Look at how RBR had an average chassis at the start of the year. They were allowed to develop which they have done and easily one of the best 3 going at the moment. Argument could be made that they are the best. Now engines...all but 3 teams are locked into what they are given/bought. You could argue Williams get the same gear but this year they have been behind in spec and it is absolutely an engine formula. They tried to fix that issue years ago by freezing engines as a variable to within a few percent. Now thats its a variable let others catch up just as they can from an aero or susp or brake perspective. Freezing it when it is a huge variable is silly as Renault and Honda teams are forced to sit out a season. Good on Merc for getting it right...theybdeserve their championships....but imagine if other teams were banned from developing a blown diffuser...or an F-Duct etc....
