I am actually hoping parts of broken Lotuses end up on ebay. Pretty sure I can buy a complete 2014 car for a few shillings.

Fatz Clearing The Shed Out Sale (cool Gtr Stuff)
Roy replied to fatz's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Any chance of having std RB26 exhaust manifolds with heat shields in good nic? -
Ok, I have a set of 8" and 9" 3 pce rims and want to know who/cost etc can ssupply me new outers so that I can make them 10" and 9" to a suitable offset for my GTSt. I have spoken to a few places and have been told a rather scary number per wheel

When JEV can do 3 simulator sessions without spinning and crashing into walls or other cars

Yikes...2 seconds. So at a place like Phillip Island the 123s will be likely 4 seconds slower given the high speed corners and length of the track. Bugger. Seems AD08Rs are the go then
-
If A050 re the baseline over a 90 second lap how much are you givcing away running AD08R and then the likes of 595RSR and KU36, Achilles 123?

So...Sports Trophy! Hmm. Problem is will they care about a 2.5L Rb with a high mount ....not exactly early modern compliant. May throw a new headgasket at my oidl RB20 and go a bolt on hi-flow...back to being compliant ! That is the easy bit...the problem? $7k!!!! I think I would rather do Le Mans and hire a Caterham again Seems a shame they introduce a come get hooked class but don't price it accordingly

Woudl you be able to take some close up pics of the rear spoiler and the adjustment?

Had a hit in the front end that provided me the opportunity to go back to an ARC cooler so removed the slightly damaged R34 GTR cooler. Will post pics later tonight $250ono in Melbourne. Happy to post

What Type Of Fuel Did They Use In The Early 90's Atcc?
Roy replied to Chris32's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Can you say 6.5-7.0:1 compression for the lowly fuel quality and boost they used to run All I recall was it was a control Shell fuel. Have a look back to 87 and see the hoo-hah over fuel and you may find a bit more info on what they were meant to be running. The Texaco fuel was proven to be ok but you may find out what OK was after being talked about being illegal -
Come on Lotus. Get thsi guy back on the podium. Alongside Dan you would have the two biggest smiles in F1 http://plus.autosport.com/premium/feature/6314/autosport-2014-f1-driver-ratings/?_ga=1.218624601.1552146118.1407816397 11. ROMAIN GROSJEAN Average rating: 7.1 Grosjean remains one of the best drivers in the field, although there were moments when frustration seemed to get the better of him during a trying 2014 season for Lotus. Yet in a car that couldn't decide how it wanted to handle from corner to corner and lap to lap, at times Grosjean extracted stunning performances from it. Next year, the Lotus-Mercedes package should allow him to achieve the results his ability deserves.
-
But Autosport journos rated Dan as the best driver of 2014. Lewis had a good season but was a little hormonal up until the summer break. Be interesting how he goes into next season. The dynamic in the team will be a little different.

A Boy's Love For His Rb20
Roy replied to Roy's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
So because I love overkill and procrastination I grabbed some machine shims and threw them in a lathe to re-size them and then used them to to pack the space the new RCAs left -
Was going to drill out the rear hub but the hardened steel makes mince meat if drill buts so just went Nismo studs on the rear. Lol turned down the end so they are quick start like ARP and dropped off to zinc coaters with other bolts ... Overkill is my middle name

Fair enough. I get building a "different" car to the masses. I was looking for an E30 M3 for a while and ended up getting my 80s on with my Sierra Cosworth. Will end up with an E30 M3 one day, though sadly will never realise my dream of one running a Judd V8

THIS IS M.I.N.T!!!! May seem like a silly question. Why not the S54 3.2L and 6psd vs RB26 and 5spd?

Greddy T67 25G 10Cm Power Figures Anyone?
Roy replied to Michael's R33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Greddy differentiate their T67-25G and TD06H-25G for that reason. A TD06H-25G is actually bigger than a T67 in Greddy speak. They share the same compressor side but on the hot side the T67 uses the smaller L2 turbine. If you have seen a Greddy turbo with a 25G compressor and the TD06H turbine then it is a TD06H-25G...not a T67-25G or what is referred to commonly as the T67. Cant speak to the reliability of Kando turbos but it does seem possible that the later ones are a little more grenade like than the earlier ones and definitely Trust turbos. Trust turbos just keep on keeping on. Though these days with E85 and boost over 25psi I do wonder whether the would be as happy in the 25-30psi range as they were in the 20-25psi range -
I think Lotus's problem isnt ability but was just preparation as they had a pretty tubulent off season and final few months of 2013. Hopefully, even with limited resources the final few months of this season and some stability leaving up to Feb will see them come out with another solid chassis and aero combo and paired with the merc engine will be back to being a team racing for top 5 positions. The real question is Allison. If Fezz pick up the pieces and Lotus struggle then that will speak volumes about Allison's ability. Personally I think its time for James Kay to take the step up to a team like Lotus as he has doen great things with the minnow teams and be it Sauber, FI or currently STR their fortunes always improve under his guidance. Lastly, what is happening with Colin Kolles 2015 Forza Rossa Racing? I had assumed it was going to be Caterham re-badged but now seems plausible they grab the Marussia chassis? Or is this another example of FIA/FOM giving entry to a team that isnt going to even bother entering?

I have posted this a few times, but my English mate who has twice been out for the Aus GP went to school with a McLaren mechanic. One year was 2008 and when I asked about Alonso he said the English media love a one sided story and within the team the crew/wngineers etc loved Alosno and that when it came to the needle between Alonso and the team and between the drivers Lewis had a role to play in escalating tensions. Nothing was published about Homo being the first to throw a swing and start inner team BS and low and behold all these years later you now start to read how Dennis has said that the Homo played a role in the McLaren-ALonso tensions . Like this sh1t wasnt going on with Rosberg this year. I am realy hoping Alonso kicks ass at McLaren....not a huge McLaren man nut I have huge amounts of respect for Alosno and want to see the guy racing the Mercs

I have never been a great fan of Button and early in the season thought he was being shown up by the rookie Dane . But by mid year he had lifted his game and on merit deserves a 2015 seat

Worth Upgrading From Pfc To Haltec Platinum Pro?
Roy replied to BlackBox's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Meh to drivability. What the hell are you doing at part throttle? WOT all the way. -
Thread needs more GTSt and DR30
-
My fronts were bigger too. 14.3mm knurl or something vs 12 or something in the rear. Sounds like GTR and GTSt may be the same
