  1. How about over 1 sec quicker then JP at PI in crappy, cold and damp conditions. It wasnt wet wet, but there was light rain through the day and even for the brief moments when it was dry it was still frezzing cold and miserable. Better, dry conditions would no doubt be quicker again. Friggin cheaterer cars
  2. Hear Brawns comments about when Honda have a worthy car they need to get one of the drivers who are a step above the others, like Alonso! LOl, fair enough he discounts Rubens from that sort of thinking, but means he doesnt rate Button as that great if he is talking about drivers a cut above I think Vettel is odds on for RBR promotion next year, but i do believe its his place to lose. Bourdais is far more experienced and has been able to race through the midfield in a few races, showed great presence and pace in Aus and showed well in qualifying. He has done everything right so far, and if continues to capitalise on opportunties that present himself i can easily see him leap frogging Vettel, who is still very young and possibly worth money contracted to other teams. Real question is whether Vettel continues to show he may be something special, as we recognise Bourdais is good, but unlikely to be special. Vettel can continue to get out qualified by Bourdais he may be in trouble, as one thing about Indy car is it will have hardened Bourdais in preparation for tight racing
  3. There is nothing wrong with the HKS air filters. My compressor wheel doesnt have any signe of damage from dirt/particles and the thing makes 260rwkws at 18-19psi so you cant say they dont get the job done.
  4. Yeh as soon as i saw that HK accident i was thinking, oops there goes the 14 years of fataility free racing. I cant believe that teh cars can submarine those tyre walls, They should be buried into the ground or teathered down. But good to see Webber running reliably to 5th, i cant see RBR getting the pace that will make them podium contestors. True to previous years, it seems Williams have lost the pace they showed early in the season At least BMW and the worlds most beautiful Polish race driver are real contenders. Kubie is doing to Heidfled what Webber did. Only he has a more reliable car so its highlighted even more. Nick to lose his seat at contract time for some hot young talent, or my tip a clever old Spanish Renault driver should he decide that Renault cant give him a shot at the title in 2009
  5. Only have 6 beers to get me through to end of the race. Maybe i need to down a bit more satay chicken to slow up on the piss front. I love being at my folks place, eat and drink like a king
  6. They were saying as far back as Aus GP that they had suspension upgrades to go on teh car. In Malaysia they said they had major aero upgrade in the wings and that was the first time i read that they has a new suspension system similar to what was previously banned. Renault are pretty good at developing parts mid season. Far stronger then Williams, Toyota and RBR who often go walk about mid season as they are slow with new development I dont think they have gained two seconds, but they have gained a solid 0.5 per second looking at the times they recently had in testing etc and in qualifying form it appears they may be able to dial a bit more out of the car. Plus running light in Spain means you can jump a few places on the grid. Did you see how close qualifying was? It was silly close and you woudl only have to go 3 or 4 laps shorter to get great track position
  7. That is one of the best installs i have seen. Its a credit to you or your mechanic. So many people install their coolers in a way to damage them after hours of use hot
  8. Reanult do seem to havea good map for drivabil;ity and launching the car from the line. Hell, it even means Mark gets the RBR off the line pretty well these days. Hoping Alonso gets out front. Probably sops early and races for a strong top 4 finish. With Webber home in 5th as Massa gets caught up with a fast starting Louise meaning the top spots will be up for grabs
  9. I need to walk more anyway, school kids now scream "Feee Willy" and other intolerant shit at me when i walk past their school. But the past 6 months i have stopped the casual driving of my car as it has been costing $85-90 to fill up. Part of the reason track days are just a little it out of reach at present it the $250-300 in fuel to get there, race and get back. But my gold my car loves V-Powr Racing
  10. I did this all back in 2001 so who knwos what it costs today. The King springs were around $450 installed, and re the bushes check out what the adjustable camber bush costs in the Group Buy. I now runs arms by Noltec so cant remember what i paid for my last set of bushes a few years ago? $250 installed aligned maybe? Its a guess. Shop around and get prices fo ryourself that way idiots like me on a car forum are not leading you astray
  11. What is happening with teh Hoigh Octane movie they were planning on mkaing. Those DVDs were a crack and was looking forward to their movie
  12. Smell? They have come out and told the world they hoped for good gains with their new aero, front suspension and a return to a system similar to the mas damper but within the regulations dictated by the FIA. They have mae no secret that they were hoping this big round of changes was going to help. Whether they are now a top 3 team remains to be seen. My feeling is they are probably about the 4th fastest team, because even if they are light on fuel, they are moving in the right direction and typically Williams lose their way mid year, Toyota's pace always falls off after a strong start. So that only leaves RBR and like Renault they are relying on one driver at the moment... Cant wait for 10:50pm tonight Will be real interesting to see Mclaren. We keep hearung about Louise in GP2 and his ability to come from behind. Well we havent seen this in F1 yet...so lets see what the y boy can do with the sort of pressure that WDCs wear
  13. LOL, if Aaron is there, the rest should stay at home an watch their favourite porn vid.
  14. Looking good. Great to see Webber ahead of Trulli. Great to see Alonso up the front, and great to see McLaren could only get 5 & 6. LOL, the more they stuff around in the pack the more credence the stories about Alonso's contribution to the McLaren team. Especially with Alonso an Renault getting quicker. Will be interesting to see what happens in the race with fuelling
  15. Do not consider using any other fluid other then Castrol Castrol Syntrax 75W/90 http://www.castrol.com/liveassets/bp_inter...90_B1278983.pdf I have used it for the last 90,000kms in my RB20 gearbox and i have run over 230rwkws since 150,000kms on my gearbox. I now have done a total of 190,000kms on my RB20 gearbox, with plenty of track work and the last 18 months with 260rwkws. The oil is good stuff.
  16. How close is Q1! 1. Kimi 1:20.701 2 Trulli 1:21.158 3. Alonso 1:21.347 15. Nakajima 1:21.69 Thats the closest we have seen in a long while
  17. If you get the chance you shoudl have a drive of mine. Its always good to get the feedback from someone who has a similar car, you work out your cars short falls pretty quick with that sort of comparison.
  18. LOL, looks like i may have scored a gig OS so with the comfort of knowing that i have a job in the bag when i head OS perhaps a 6 week splurge on motorsport is just the thing before i leave the shores. All this chatty chat is driving me crazy, i need to go out there and bin it proper trying to get into the teens
  19. But Jim is apretty private guy and doesnt like the lime light
  20. An R32 GTSt with a good exhaust, intercooler and air filter will basically make 12psi without a boost controller. Was that eh case? If not then you could have another problem
  21. Meh to valve springs and all that. Just get a nice turbo rated at around 400hp, something like a TD06, 3071 etc and get it well tuned with adjustable cam gears. I run a TD06 on a std motor and on plenty of occassions have ran it to a 8,800rpm rev limit with 18psi or so jammed into it. Though i tend to try and run either high revs or high boost, not normally both.
  22. Yeh the problem is though when you change engines you need to chamnge the engine number on your rego papers, which means an inspection at the local motor registry If you mod the RB20 then the numebrs match up, even if the thing has so many mods its equally as illegal. I guess you are not inviting trouble by havign to take your car to them. As for alink...if you hunt around the Vic roads website there is actualy some clear and useful information on it all
  23. They are for sale on yahoo.jp Have a search and you will come accross it
