R34 Gtr Vspec 2 N1 Tarmac Rally Car $69,999
Roy replied to essay's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
A few posters look silly in this thread and its not the person trying to sell the car. The same people who dont "get" this car also wouldn't understand why you would spend 40k on a 1963 Lotus Cortina that isnt registered but is log booked for Group Nb This car is a great performance package that lets you do numerous forms of motorsport and is damn reliable and well maintained. Hard life? Maybe the shell but even the paint/body is in great condition. The components in the car all get lifed and refurbished as part of ensuring its reliabilty in competitiveness. Remember it competes in tarmac rallies and won Targa Tas...you dont do that driving around in a car with flogged/worn out parts. Good luck to the seller. I have seen this car in person several times and you wouldn't know its history looking at the great conditions it been maintained in. Anyone that was at Albert Park F1 in 2013 would have seen and heard it belting around the circuit....its a damn good thing! -
Tragic isnt it
-
Machining and fab time/costs. Get something close to what i want for < $200 then I am happy
-
I am looking for good quality and reasonably priced uprights at the moment. If anyone knows a place that saves custom machinging etc

But its how the gases get from the exhaust valve to the turbine that also plays a big part. In the ays of E85 you tend to be able to mask a lot of things but I can tell you in the days of 98 if you wanted the most out of your RB20 or RB25 then a manifold helped. My 2c is whilst std manifolds make the power, you notic a big improvement in how the car drives and makes its power when driving it on the street or flogging its guts at the track. My other 2c is if you can get a 6 into 2 into 1 manifold then it will work better again vs the 6boost like 6 into 1 manifolds

See...that is uber cool. Love to see an off its head go toe to toe with Blaise's chook cooker RX7. I will build it and Dr Woo can win in it!

Very keen to see the historic F1 cars take to the hillclimb at Goodwood in a few weeks. Sux to be a broke ass punter walking around what is going to be motorsport heaven

And it continues....thjis time STR . Form Autosport on JEV.... "While there's been some bad luck this year, the fact he has made Q3 three times (and would surely have done so in Bahrain but for a sudden change in the fuel-flow meter readings that forced the team to turn down the engine) shows he has emerged from the biggest disappointment of his career a stronger driver." Would be simple to throw a bit of redundancy at them by getting them to run two meters

The thickness of the flange to the head and what appears to be some scale on the manifold made me think it may be. An easy option would be bolt the manifold to a dummy plate, grab an oxy and lever it 5-10mm. Heat the right places and science will do much for the work for you. Much easier than cutting and welding

I think the Porsches speed is fine. I think their energy recovery system and general hiccups are what are going to be the problem at le Mans. I can see it now. Flying all that way, camping for 4 nights and Webber's car will probably retire in the first hour without Mark even getting to turn a single lap. I have never beena good luck charm watching his F1 races. I hope WEC changes our fortunes!

What is the audio like? That is whats most important to me... I think the Hero 3+ is the way to go , just need to confirm the quality of the external mic
-
So considering a new camera for an upcoming holiday. I have an old Radcam and an old circa 2011 GoPro. Is there anything new to the market that is a better proposition? It will be an open top car so external mic is a must so that wind noise doesnt ruin the footage.

Porsche on pole ...yeh baby Sadly Hatley didn't get to di two final kaps so the 20 car is only 5th

What is the inducer/exducer size of the compressor? I am about to buy a new manifold so no longer restricted by Trust 3 bolt flanges on my TD based turbos

10:30pm tomorrow night! Quali tonight...not sure what time...something like 3am from memory

Not a problem with your ABS but rather your choice of caliper! Why I have never liked this option as an upgrade. If you don thave ABS you would think the setup is crap. ABS in part masks how badly balanced the setup would be with EVO calipers....but will always make the ABS have a heart attack simply because those calipers and rotors will cause the brakes to lock sooo easy

Pumped about this weekend. Bring on Spa. Gutted I am not able to get a job in Brussels as this would be a dream weekend to stroll down and camp at Spa for the WEC race.
-
Still got this and trying to pay for a holiday...so...bump

Just run those housings. They are circlip compressor covers so easy to clock them however you want. Just weld alloy inlets to the compressor cover...I think they would simply be too big, even on an RB30....though would be sure to make uber power considering a friends twin TD06-20G 2.7L made something like 550rwkws on race fuel years and years ago.

Fatz Gtr Reliability Testing
Roy replied to fatz's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Yeh, when I first went for a ride in a car with RPM modified Teins I went out the next week and bought some and sent them off to RPM. They are damn good things and suspect its all in the valving more than the spring rates. Had to grab a second pair when I went GTR rear cradle and got the chance to do another set...largely the reason why my thing even as a rwd car cant blazed 2nd gear with 330rwkws...just traction and hooks up! What sized rim are you running? Thought of throwing some Carrera Cup slicks at it? -
Some T517z ot T518z turbine housings and you are away
