  1. LOL...leave the sniper posts out of what is a decent enough discussion over turbos. Plus discop mentioned a YBB Cosworth engine in his post so one of the best posts ever on SAU! I am only after a punchy 260+rwkws from my Cossie. The thing is low compression so happy to run up to 26psi. I just have to get my head around running a turbo with wheels the sizes of the EFR 7064 and 7670 and still be able to get good reponse and torque as the engine only pulls 7,000rpm. I think I would be happy with 6758 but sounds like the twin scroll T4 7163 will be the go. What hot side options are there with regards to IWG and A/R for the T4? Geoff...will these end up on your site or should I just drop you some mail in a few weeks?
  2. R32s are good things. I have punted mine and loved it for 14 years. But they are old buses. I have barely driven my car this year as for the second time I have to go through all the suspension and driveline and life everything. On E85 i made 310rwkws with my std RB20 with a TD06-20G. Had a load of bolts on though so over the years it didnt hurt so much. But to throw those bolt ons in one go its probably close to 10k tuned and running at that power. An RB25 with all std manifolds and a $100 high flow turbo and $800 eco and injectors and afm will make the sme power for way less. The front & rear susp geometry in an R32 isnt as good as an R33...R32sa are pretty much more expensive these days. The wheel arches are smaller....and gearbox not as strong. Though the RB20 in my opinion is way stronger and the reduced torque often makes for an easier car to drive quick and with the extra few revs they can pull along with extra boost they can handle are often not out of their depth racing bigger dispacement RB cars. But, if you dont care about the looks of the car, just want a strong reliable car that can be quick and interesting to drive...then hard to go past an R33 GTS25t
  3. The various Lotus 7 replicas out there can be good things if you buy the right kit. Some are rubbish...others better. Caterham adn Westfield seem to be the pick of the litter. But they are not cheap cars by the time you get them to Aus and built. But epicly quick for outright pace when you [unt them hard https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNsunDsRIzA
  4. R33 is the way to go. Can buy them for 6-8k with fmic and coilovers. Have way stronger gearbox, can make an easy 250-280rwkws with a high flow. Guards accept bigger tyres and bigger brakes std. If you put the 25 gearbox on an R32 you are generally within 20-30kgs of being the same weight so R33s are not as heavy as people make out and they have better rear end geometry and also front end geometry. The fact that they are often cheaper than R32s.....if you can handle styling they are quite easily a lot more capable as a basically std car than an R32
  5. Good luck this weekend! Hope the 32s can muscle into the tops of the timeslips
  6. Its interesting because I have to reach for the excuse jar for Dan. I had through that the stats would have added up rather favourably for Dan given his form post Silverstone.
  7. The world is 1D and B&W and flat. I cant think of a race since the sumemr break where Jev has been near Dan on the road...too many car probs etc throwing variables at them. Though Dan and STR were silly not to give the position back on the weekend
  8. Interesting to compare Dan and Jev? But the real point that I am stoked about is Romain has been in teh points the last 7 races ,inc three 3rds. The Singapore DNF is the only hiccup and he was in a strongh position when that happened. He is finishing the year nicely!
  9. I will have to speak with Gary to find out where he gets his promo girls! So that's what it takes for Winterbottom to not sook like a 5yr old that dropped their ice-cream
  10. Makes complete sense. They split strategy to ensure that an RBR car beat Lotus to the win. The way the cookie crumbled it was Vettel that won...and he is the guy needing points to wrap up the WDC. So thinking big picture RBR got the strategy perfect. That is a given....the discussion is whether the strategy hurt Webbers chances of a victory and I think it did hurt his chances of a victory....the challenge was could be beat Romain on teh same strategy? Based on the lack of pace from Lotus on teh hard tyres he was in for a good shot...
  11. Read those articles and you will see that the talk is around the second stop at 25 laps and RBRs desire (sensible thing to do) to cover the Lotus of Romain by splitting the two cars. Webebr himself said that he couldnt cover both of them. If he tried he could have lost out to both
  12. But she has a Scottish accent and is faster in a car than I ever will be. Thats a winning combo in my books. But its that accent that moves her to the top shelf
  13. It wont matter for squat If Disco Dan cant put the thing on the same row or same row +1 as Vettel then it wont matter about his approach to the racing. He has looked very good since Silverstone and RBR state that his test was smack on Vettels pace fuel corrected at Silverstone. So will be interesting to see a guy with a tank full of energy renew the challenge on Vettel Meanshile...watching the post race Sky footage....I think I love Susie Wolff.
  14. Well the kit you have allows you to run a bigger rotor with better wheel clearance. It is lighter than the Advantage caliper. But those things are all bee's d1ck things. The one main reason why your calipers are superior is the titanium pistons work waaay better at keeping the heat from the pad out of the brake fluid. But again, the Advantage kit is pretty damn competent on most track GTRs. Especially if you are going to get stung for $600 for a pair of radial mounts. $800-1000 for the hats and bobbins to work with the V8 Supercar rotor...then lines and pads. Buying $1500 calipers can quickly add up to serious money if you dont have a line on good combination rotors and hats. If you are going to run those calipers I personally would go brab some off the shelf 380x35mm rotors, either aftermarket or off an R35 and then just pay the money for the radial mounts
  15. Needs more silver!
  16. LOL, Its fine that we see things differently but I know how this ends. I name the races where I think Vettel was ruthless and you will defend them...so not going to bother. It dates back waaay before Malaysia 2013. How about it started in Fuji 2007! Vettel did nothing wrong and I didnt dislike him for his error...but I hated the fact that he robbed Webber a shot at Hamilton and the teams first ever win. That would have changed the dynamic of Vettel coming into the team if Webber was already a GP winner like Vettel.
  17. Exactly. There is no denying that Vettel is a dedicated, calculating and very talented guy. If you read back through what James Allen, DC and even Joe Saward have said over the years that the culture of the team is very foccussed on guarding Vettel. For me Malaysia was the first obvious thing that Vettel did publicly that the team couldnt spin away. There are so many seeds that hint at what control Vettel had within the team. Does it change anything? Not really. Webber simply isnt as quick every weekend. If he was he would have bagged 2010 but he had a rather poor final few races (typical of his form eveyr seeason...strong in the middle, hopeless at the start and finish) I hate Vettel because he has only ever been himself publicly for 10 days. His actions in Malaysia and the subsequent week when he came out and simply said "I was quicker and I get paid to win" If he towed that line I would respect him more. But he goes back to his PR cover of not being the arrogant, cut throat prick he is. And the main reason I dont like Vettel...is how he puts his team mate to the sword. Doesnt help that its Webber, but anyone who drives liek Perez on Button is wrong. Vettel pulls moves on Webber that he knows wouldnt fly on other cars as he knows when push comes to shove he has the support of the team and Webber will take avoiding action. Perez does the same on Button and thats the reason I hate Perez. Looking at how Kimi and Romain play....MEGA respect to how Button and Hamo races and how Rosberg and Hamo race....but Perez and Vettel put their team mates to the sword in passing and I dont like how they use the politics to help them get places on the track
  18. If you have a subscription to AutoSport they have a good read on the Japanese GP. Basically RBR did the logical thing and split the strategy to cover Romain. It was all there for Webber to still be able to win...but meant he had to clear cars with low traction out of the slow corners....and in their opinion the best thing about splitting the strategy was putting Mark and Seb on different parts of the track so to avoid issues.
  19. The old Paul Newman flick Winning and the old James Garner flick Grand Prix is actually very, very good
  20. I was VERY Drunk when watching the race so last few laps were a bit sketchy. What was it, a 15 secon lead with 10 laps to go? How much older were his tyres then Vettels? Only 2 or so laps wasnt it? Anyway....thats Webber shot to sh1t for the year...Seb will hand it to him at all other races except maybe Brazil where Webber can sometime pull a result. COME on Romain...now that Kimi is betraying the brotherhood to go play with red cars I want him to gag on C0CK and watch Romain kick on with hopefully a win somewhere.
  21. Looking at your site it suggests that you can get twin scroll T4 housings for the 6758 but isnt available in the drag down box. I am after a punchy turbo for my 2L YB cosworth. Engine runs low compression and runs 26psi at the moment so if I can get something a little more punchy that likes boost I could get a streetable bit of grunt
  22. Was so happy at the prospect of Romain winning...but just couldn't match the pace of RBR
  23. SUCH A THROWN FIGHT
