I am not convinced Hulk is solid under pressure so tonight will be interesting to see if he has a brain fade again. BUT, irrespective I hope the performance of Hulk gets him a seat in a Ferrari next year

Nice...good to see the Caltex Sierra flying on the weekend. Shame the Nissan brigade had their dramas but good to see the GIO car out there. Keep an eye out on Speedhunters for a write up by R32Bigboy!

FARK YOU! That is all

Have a good look at the Kando T3 housings. Theya re nothign alike the T25 housings. They are the sme as the woeful internal gate Trust housings from that era Back in 2003 when I threw my TD06 on the RB20 every result was with the internal gate version of that turbo, inc on RB25s. If it wasnt for my mate telling me to trust him I would never have tried it...as the results of the internal gate vs external gate have always been chalk and cheese

Combined with high front wings that made the ride heights look retarded .... I think this years cars look far better than 2007! I look forward to seeing next years cars

Disco, but yet to see any machine dNissan housings do the same job as the HKS based housings when the same wheels are used. Has been a while since I looked but good turbos often gave poor results due to lack of proper rear housing. That Kando housing is poo based on the many results of those that tried to use them...plus a quick look at the wastegate gases path

Was at a historic race meet on the weekend and spent Sat night looking at old Arrows and Tyrrells etc that were for sale...so easy to blow 500k on old chariots

I had a TD05 for my RB20...gave it to a friend to run on his project SR. I think they woudl be a good thing with an 8cm housing on an RB20 but I had the 6 boost manifold and Trust 3 bolt housing for it....I got no idea how to get a TD05 based turbine to be internal gate to a T3 flange
-
Yep...was a thing of beauty...if only Prost had beaten that Brazillian hack in it!

Yeh.... I am on the lookout for a blown 2530/2535 as thats what I want to run a GTS2860 on the std manifold on whatever R31 coupe I end up with. Just have to bloody find the car as I desperately need a daily at the moment so I can fix the R32

LOL, you are assuming he wasnt quicker in my car than me..which he was But then he got old and started a family and sold his S14...years later I may be a better driver than him I had the 73HTA backed to back with my 20G and it woudl suggest the 68HTA would be a decent enough thing on the compressor side, but what hot side to run it with for a bolt on solution for an RB20 ???? I personally think one of the Garret GTX 2860Rs would be a go but its hard to come by a blown HKS 2530 so you can get the turbine housing to suit. Been casually looking for one for a mate for about 6 months but n9othing has come up at the right price.

Another thread where someone asks for "responsive" turbo advice for their RB20 and ends up with an install RB25 A high flow R33 turbo on an Rb20 often gives you the lag of a big aftermarket turbo but half the result. In part because it uses the std manifold, but mostly because the lil RB20 doesnt generate a lot of exhaust pulses from its lil 6 pot 2L cylinders. I suggest you bin the turbo and look at a smaller frame turbo. Look at high flowing the std RB20 turbo and dont be shy to trade higher boost on a smaller turbo vs lower boost on a bigger turbo to make the same power. RB20s dont mind boost and inherent in their design is their ability to handle more boost and revs then any other RB engine....the trade off is they dont offer the torque of other RB engines. I say stick with a 320hp sized tubo with basically std sized but steel turbine and a small effecient compressor, that is no bigger than 62mm, ideally more like 60mm and give it 18-19psi with a good tune, exhaust and bolt ons. You will bag a good punchy 210-230 odd rwkws Dont mess with cams. I tried them at 270rwkws and was a poor result. Made 310 rwkws with similar response to what you currently have all on a std engine with E85...so cams wont hurt power or response at the power you are looking at with the turbos that will give you response. At the end of the day no 2L 6 cylinder will give you the feeling of a torquey engine like a 4 cylinder, purely related to the characteristics of the engines. Doesnt mean they are slower, just deliver their power differently. My mates S14 always felt quicker than my R32 but when we lined them up it was all in the launch and at the track where we were rolling out of 3rd and 4th gear corners i generally pulled away. So the seat of the pants can be misleading. That was generally with him making a few more kws too.

Early 00 cars are ugly in my view. You have to go back another 10 years to get the best looking. The 2008 cars were a joke with crap hanging off every working surface. Still one of the best lookign cars, defiitely from the best looking era (close 2nd is Lola F5000 cars )

So many writing off Dan before he has even lined up for a single practice session in the same car on the same weekend. I am not convinced it has been done purely because the expectation is that he will be a lap dog. I think he has real pace...if RBR wanted to make their lives easy they would have canned Webber 2 years ago and put in any number of drivers like Di Resta, Hulkm an STR Jr etc. Webber has tried to give as good as he has taken and the team has hardly been harmonious whilst he and Seb have been battling. I think its too presumptious to think that RBR want a lap dog and No.2 by definition. If Dan cant keep pace then he will be a No. 2 by default not by design. The other big reason why I think they need to put someone who will put it up Vettel is that by the end of his cotnract he will have been there 7 years! I think he will be looking for a change/challenge (provided the other team is competitive like mercedes or Ferrari) if he gets bored at RBR. And a young guy beating him will keep him interested and motivated. Kimi, based on his behaviour at Ferrari doesnt always stay all that motivated when things are not going to plan

Dash in good nic? Door trims and seats not such a worry abut any holes, marks or bubbles in dash? Casually on the lookout for the right project car

You have to like their chances of being one of the 3 strongest teams next year. They have had a tech re-shuffle which should have cleared the decks which along with a poor 2013 will allow a good run at the 2014 car Plus, I doubt Perez or Button are getting the most out of the 2013 car. History shows Perez cant qualify and nor can Button and 4 weekends out of 5 Button can't get everything out of the car...so granted car isnt great but doubt its as bad as the results suggest
-
I would rather see Kimi at McLaren replacing Perez than Fezz replacing Massa. I dont think Fezz can get the best out of Kimi...
-
LOL, it doesnt say? Well here is a hint. APF404 is the compound. Its a premium street pad...samma samma with DS2500 so dont expect any real difference in performance
-
If you want your calipers to look like those in that link then let me know. My mate did them for Jack and can get you a price to refurb them exactly the same
-
If they were the only two other people in the room I think I would prefer to sit back and have nothing to do with them
-
You can...but when you are targetting a runout figure lower than .15mm...many say lower then that in performance applications with large rotors then I think most people frown upon rubbing an abrasive on a rotor face in an uncontrolled manner. Also be careful of the grit you use as you dont want to "polish" or improve any surface face that will encourage glazing

Cool, thanks. Spoke to a friend on the weekend and lined up free accomm and a travel buddy so looking good. Just need to look at prices of tickets and time off work

Yeh, the two medium stints up front seemed odd. Perhaps they were banking on a safety car to catch him up doing the long stint last. Keeping a casual eye on their respective pace Dans opening stint on hards was equal to Jev on the softs so doesnt appear the STR had the pace to clear cars early on. Estaban seemed to finally show something this race. Lets hope he can kick on and consolidate as he has lacked even those moments of some promise.

Daniel Ricciardo Hard (16) Medium (17) Medium (11) Jean-Eric Vergne Medium (10) Medium (14) Hard (20) So, slow leak it wasnt bad enough to pit him despite the claim that it was from the start the last session. He did 20 laps on them. So Dans strategy if he had lived with him for the first two stints was always going to help with using the faster tyre at the end on low tank Also, if you look at the pace of Jev's 3rd stint its basically the same as hist first stint (like many others) vs Dan who obviously had a load more pace on the newer tyres. http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/2013/08/25/2013-belgian-grand-prix-lap-charts/ Has not always been the case between them but Dan definitely had the better race pace
