  1. Fasest Hamo went thisweekend was in his road car
  2. The only limit on the new engines is basically fuel. They are only allowed to carry a certain amount of fuel and it means they will have to be pretty conservative with boost and power if they want to make it to the end of the race. Hopefully they will hot them up to serious power then turn them down for economy but at points of the race lean on it for more power and speed...strategies will be interesting
  3. I will take the dash Brad. Will gab it one night this week or perhaps next weekend
  4. hmmm...being told that the Z32 stub axle has a bigger diam shaft so needs to run a different lower bearing. May just pull mine all out and compare side by side.
  5. Ok, so you are a flaming CHAMPION! What will make you a good amongst men is if you know the part numbers for the Z32?
  6. Almost grabbed you some real mans 8 pot calipers last night.
  7. I am out there this weekend with a friend running in IP. Will keep an eye out
  8. If you want a good harness then Sabelt or Schroth are the industry standards. Many of the Sparco harnesses etc are actually Sabelt. Have a look at the adjusters, some are nightmares...generally the alloy being more expensive function better. That said as long as you know what you want...3", alloy or steel adjusters....saloon style, 4/5/6 point and you are not worried about brand then OMP, Sparco, Willans, Racetech, Velow, Takata, RPM...just shop around and get the best buy. Also, when looking at ebay and cheap harnesses...often the cheap ones are 2 or so years into their validity period.
  9. There are different schools of thoughts. I wanted mine between the the rear legs. WRC cars and other race cars have gone full circle. First short, then long and they generally seem to be short again these days. The reasoning I use is that in a big hit you can generate some massive Gs. If the harness is short then there is no slack and your organs/body cop the Gs. If they are long like mine then the belts can actually stretch a few cms which gives an elastic style response and in tests has been shown to reduce the amount of Gs the body absorbs. Of course the flip side is with longer harnesses in a big hit that distorts the car you can more easily see a situation where the cage moves relative to the seat and harnesses slacken and you are on for an interesting ride. Swings and round abouts
  10. If you are entertaining the idea of 5/6 point then have a good look at your seat. I think for skinny guys a 4 point harness with the side straps mounted at the correct angle work fine for 99% of people. If you ever want to upgrade then you can get a crotch strap then as most 4 point harnesses can be upgraded with a crotch strap at a later date. That way you also avoid the issue Snowie pointed out re the buckle being on the waisst strap
  11. Ok here are some pics of my phone. I am trying to show the fitment to the B pillar. The base of the main hoop and some pics of the quality of the fit up that allows such neat TIG welding

  19. Generally better flow and boost control. The better flow may result in more response or simply better top end with less back pressure...generally its also easier to get them to hold boost. They are my rules of thumb...people could go on for pages sighting instances where the above is not true but they are the fundamentals for doing it. But remains all very setup-parts dependent. A good setup using an internal gate can get great results if parts are all matched
  20. It was dark, cold and you posted that pic. Its some scaffolding in the back of a car! LOL I rode into work today so good chance of being home before dark and will post up some better deail pics
  21. Price drop to $1500 ono
