Some bad luck, some bad performances and he is GONE! For the first half of the season he was averaging 12 points per race. The past 5 races he is averaging about 3 points per race The penalty seems pretty harsh, especially when Massa went off track to overtake Senna with no penalty in a similar style of move. Oh well Ah Singapore.I wonder how many tourists unknowingly slept with men over the weekend

Season is over for Webber. He isn't a shadow of the guy that was racing at Valencia , Silverstone and Monaco

18X10 +30 Workmeisters 2.2K
Roy replied to PWND's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Are your rear guards are pumped at all. i was hoping to fit 18x10+35 but need the wheel inside the guards for 29 tyres -
Forget the 20G wheel on the TD05 turbine . Just run the 18G compressor (IMO ) Basically the same compressor sheer just a smaller trim. I have one on the bench that i wanted to back to back with my TDO6-20G but its never going to happen so Will be for sale sooner or later with a Trust 8cm rear housing. Would be a good think to throw a 68mm billet compressor at

All cars comply, including McLaren and Marussia. The rule change was to limit the height of the nose so that in an accident the nose cones were not going to go over the sidepod and hit drivers. Most teams lowered the noses and when they reached the area of nose where the height changed they simply put a step in it. McLaren, Marussia and HRT decided to use a countour others a step. But all cars comply

I wasn't being a smart ass. Just pointing out what you are wanting to see already exists in another category. So copying another less successful category isn't going to be a very good model

If thats what you want to see then go and watch the state and national rounds of the Production Cars.

So Will Sau Folk Still Refuse To Watch V8 Supercars
Roy replied to Roy's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
That sums it up really doesn't it? I dont think they should have all the same motor, capacity yes, but not motor. There will be enough differences in the engines that they will have different notes and character. be interesting to see if the old story of pushrods having a bit better torque (mainly from the bore/stroke) than the multi-valve jobs -
Actual specs have been out for a while. Same engine as the 12C, just different specs, assumed to be turbos etc and more grunt. Has KERS, DSG. I like the look of it...nice evolution of the F1 and dramatic enough looking. Having seen a few 12Cs they are nice cars but not very "Oh my farking GOD" . Not compared to some other uber cars getting around...it actually reminds me a little of an Ascari

So Will Sau Folk Still Refuse To Watch V8 Supercars
Roy replied to Roy's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
The easiest way for things to get out of control is to let different manufacturers run vastly different capacities. If you let Nissan run 5.6, Mercs 6.3, GM 7L and Ford 5.4L or whatever they are you are going to instantly have vastly different levels of performance. If you cap them all at 5L then you just have to consider the differences in the valve gear and stroke/bore and how they make their power. Makes sense to me. And yeh, I like Murphy...he used to sook a bit when he was competitive but these days seems to have come good and I think is a pretty good character -

Ash, go to a V8 Supercar round and look at the car and tell me they are the same. They use the same building blocks, but its like saying a Racepace GTR is the same as a Godzilla Motorsports GTR is the same as a Willal GTR. Look around and all the classes people love the look of offer poor racing and too high a cost. GT1 has just fallen over again. My main problem with the current Supercars are the muppets driving them. Apart from Lowndes and Murphy I dont like any of them to passionately turn on the box and barrack for any of them -
What are peoples thoughts? Looks pretty tough. Shame it has lost its screaming 6L NA BMW engine but small capacity turbo V8s seem to be to go for emissions.

I am not trying to be rude but how old are you? Did you actually ever watch Grp A races? Maybe Winton, maybe Lakeside gave us reasonable races with M3s vs Sierras vs Skylines. But generally it was a cake walk for particular makes of cars/teams and there was not any racing. I loved it due to the variety of cars, but there was little racing.

ummm...Kando thread. Not Hypergear or relationship counselling

I think the idea is to welcome in different sponsors who will be attracted with more manufacturers and exposure to different markets. This means more funding to various teams and hopefully some closer competition. I don't mind that they have some control parts under the skin. They get flogged because they are not production cars....but then they get criticised for not bing proper race cars...you only have to look at how GT1 has fallen over again. GT3 with it and the rise and fall of various classes OS and you have to say that the local series is at least reasonably healthy. Hell they are now the support series for 3 F1 rounds. Now with 4 manufacturers who tweak the design windows for optimum performance. No cars are alike under the skin even if they are given the same broad brush strokes to work within

Well Red Bull are replacing Vodafone at Triple 888 racing it wouldnt surprise me to hear they are trying to find a 3rd licence to run him in a team car. I read about 12 months ago that Mercedes were keen provided the cost of developing aero and body was not too prohibitive. They wanted to use a development of their Superstars platform Having watched a round of the Superstars when OS they are pretty cool things but pretty sure they wll need to pick up the pace as out tin tops are quicker

Pics Of Your Car At Or On The Track
Roy replied to hamiltonau's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Will hopefully have the car ready for the SAU Nationals and maybe a day or two at Winton before. In the meantime the only track work I have done this year has been in hire cars...but it has eaten most of my finances but well worth it La Source Eau Rouge -
Did the car need a lot done to it to get it back to full health?
-
I wish I had that sort of problem with traction
-
Last time I ran Wakefield I had 150rwkws ... it was a long time ago. With no power the kink was flat just as I had to pull the car up. 1:13.4 was my best. Cant wait to get back there for the SAU Nationals
-
Just saw Fatz made 240rwkws at 10psi easky_mad said he is " Not after a big power figure just nice reliable engine" A 20G on whatever boost maxes out the compressor would be a very grunty street car and probably one have to run a very durable 13-16psi. He said he also says he has all the bolts ons ready to go so I dont think it would be a bad option for the situation as he explained it. A T67 would tilt the balance towards the RB30 with it being a little less suitable for the RB20 but he said he isnt after big power so I take that for a range around what a 20G can do
-
Plenty of grip/attitude ... I want your susp setup. I have just gone gung-ho with susp and hope it is an improvement and not a step backwards
-
My TD06-20G is off a twin GTR setup that upgraded to T67s. With a couple of Greddy manifolds one of the TD06-20Gs ended up on my car and the other Fatz's RB30. At the time we were both running 10cm housings and on the 2L RB20 it was too doughy. Changed to an 8cm housing and everything improved. Meanwhile Fatz made something like 245rwkws on 13psi on 98 on his RB30. So would be an animal street car if you ran it to 18psi easily maxing out the 20G compressor without the need to rev the ring out of the engine.... ...so I tend to disagree that the same turbo cant serve two different engine provided you are willing to swap A/R of the rear housing
