  1. Yeah i have no idea why, it's not like I have ever had any claims put against me (still got a no claim bonus which I have had since 1997. maybe just spoke to the wrong person I did however say that I thought they insured people over 25 for these types of cars, but they said if it's an imported performance vehicle then they wont unless your over 30 now.
  2. I never even thought of that but it wouldn't suprise me at all if that was the deal.
  3. NRMA wont touch anyone under 30 who drive a "performance vehicle", I'm 29 and have been with them since I had my license and as soon as I mentioned that I wanted to change over my insurance to my skyline they said "sorry we don't insurce drivers uner 30 who drive those cars. I'm with just car insurance now and as someone previously said that as soon as a mod is added to the insurance the preminum will jump up. the car was slightly modded when I bought it so the premium was high, but when put a strut brace and aftermarket radiator in and it my insurance went up $120 a year. Luckely I have spoken to NRMA and haven't lost my no claim bonus because I will be switching back over to them as soon as I turn 30, so I guess there is some good (won't be getting screwed by JustCar anymore.)
  4. You do that yourself or was it already like it when you bought the car?.
  5. Thanks everyone for clearing that up, looks like what I had thought all along the badges were swapped since the engine is the original.
  6. My R33 is a 1997 model, I thought they finished making them in 98 so it's really an old model.
  7. That's what I was thinking, (previous owner must have changed them) I don't think I could be bothered changing them though, I think the blue badge on a silver car looks better then the red badge on silver. Thanks, I've seen those yellow ones also, on ebay that is; never on a car though
  8. Quick stupid question, What is the go with the red and blue GT badges, I have heard the red are for turbo models is this true? I have a R33 with an RB25DET but have the blue badge (it's the origional engine so I'm guessing the previous owner must have swapped the badges if that's the case red been for turbo models).
  9. Widows 7 kernel is alot leaner than Vista's this makes the whole system run faster, Windows developers are saying that they want to make it even more leaner. All in all I think that most people will find that they will still need large amounts of RAM, faster processor(s), and better graphic cards with faster GPU's mainly because of the applications that will be installed on top of the OS. I think Windows 7 will still have issues such as third party dirvers and backwards compatability in regards to older hardware and software. Although if you had the spec's on your machine and really wanted/needed an application that Windows 7 didn't support you could always run XP or someother system in Virtual PC or VMWare. For personal use I use Vista and don't have any issues with drivers or compatability with older software, also my machine is quite specy so I dont see problems with speed either. As for the companies I support they use a range of XP and Vista for their worksations all with a mixture of 32 and 64 bit systems. This is where I see the real problems with Vista, every time a client says they are getting a PC with Vista on it we recommend at least 2GB RAM be installed, even then we see problems because of the applications they use. I'm not going to slag off Vista but even Microsoft admitted they made a big mistake with coding Vista, not only that but the majority of businesses are not moving over to it. (Some companies I know of are actually formatting them and install XP). But like any software whether it be an operating system or application; Windows 7 will have issues that's why Microsoft have patch Tuesday.
  10. Just wanted to say to you all have a merry Christmas, safe holiday, & happy new year. Thanks to everyone how helped me out with all my noob questions See you all in the new year DRIVE SAFE the road toll have already hit 18.
  11. I got BP ultimate the other day for $1.20 may not have been the cheapest but a few months ago it was up at $1.61
  12. Yet another reason for the new laws regarding L & P plate drivers.
  13. Man that's terrible I hope something gets done about it, like the others say "keep nagging the cops" also keep you eye out they may be locals. I was only bitching the other day about people who do stuff like that ("caught in the act") my incident was nothing compared to what happened to you though. I guess although it may be a bitch if you are fully insured you should just be able to pay the excess to get it fixed up.
  14. Things that annoy me: People who don't indicate (come on the switch is right there) Small yappy dogs People who stop in the middle of the walkway at shopping centers to have a conversation so everyone else either runs into them or needs to walk around. Junkies/pill poppers I'm all for safe driving but people who do 20 km below the limit should be off the road People who invade your personal space (for some reason they feel they need to stand on top of you when speaking to you, even worse if they have bad breath) People who think they know everything about everything Queues People at clubs who piss all over the seats (I don't care how drunk you are, it's not that hard to aim straight) People (I'm not raciest I hate everyone equally ) Oh yeah LEET speak (your not cool you sound like a tool)
  15. Well I went and got the first of the two quotes required by my insurance agency this morning, I actually a bit worried now because the guy came out had a look and said well I'm not sure what to do because I don't know what paint they used and it looks like the respray was done over the top so if it gets touched up it could bubble!! Sounds kinda weak to me, aren't smash repairers meant to be able to work this shit out? He started making it sound like the whole car would need a new spray job. The paint job at the moment is not the most elaborate but it's a good clean job, so having this happen to the drivers door make the whole thing look bad in my eyes (every time I go to hop in the car I see it ) Oh yeah HackerX good to hear insurance covered it.
  16. So HackerX they were insured right? Speaking of trolleys my mums car was swiped from front panel to rear by a trolley, She ended up getting Woolworths to pay for the repairs (I have no idea how but I thought it was a legendary effort lol). Another time my sisters car got rear ended by a disqualified L plate driver who was driving by himself, and had no insurance.
  17. I was on my way to the shops on Sunday with my fiancee when nature called so I pulled up at a Mc Donalds car park to do my business. As I was walking back to my car when I saw a lady swing her door open and slam it into my drivers door, she looked like she was about to get in her car and take off. I walked over (didn't need to run to catch her I was only a few meters away) and said hey what the $#@! are you doing you can't just take off after doing that. To my amazement she justified that she couldn't careless because it an accident and not her problem, before I lost my cool her boy friend/husband got out and said what details do you need from me. I got his details and this morning rang my insurance to organize a claim, so now I have to get a couple of quotes and blah blah blah do all the rest to get it fixed. So until then I have a lovely green scratch up up door (which is a metallic grey, so it stands out like dog balls). I don't think my girl fiancee has ever seen me so distressed about anything before LOL, after I calmed down and thought it out I figure although I'm pissed as hell about it at least I caught them and am getting it fixed. I just wondering if anyone has any story about something similar (worse) that has happened, but you were lucky enough to catch the culpurate, and get them to pay for the repairs. Just to note I am so careful (well I guess paranoid is a better word for it) about parking because I have had family members & friends who have had worse happen, and because the person has taken off they have had to fit the bill for the damage.
  18. Listen to music/radio, get weird looks from people because I am laughing my head off at the comedians on the radio.
  19. WOW that guys got some skills, would have loved to see his tyres after that.
  20. I have PC's, use them for work, media box, internet/burning/torrents. Got a PS2 also but never use it.
