I Want More Power? Help Please... Rb25de
KezR33 replied to bikerboy14's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Launch downhill. -
I loved WaW. Probably played it more than any other COD.
-
Yeah that's why I love the R32 GTR. Only GTR I'd buy. I'd still rather something newer though. All those bushes, bearings etc whilst minor still add up. Plus the older the car the higher the risk of something major going wrong. I rather a relatively hassle free newer car. Maybe in a couple of years when I'm looking for a second weekend car I'd get a nice R32 GTR, something that can sit in the garage if it decides to break down and not keep me from getting to work.

I love the Supra's looks, and I can even appreciate them on the track, but I want to go sideways and Supras are just too heavy. Plus if you start tracking a car, weight make a huge difference not just in performance, but in maintenance as every kg is more stress and wear on tyres, brakes, heat, etc. A nice light, nimble S14/15 would be perfect IMO. I love GTRs too, but I want RWD, and I don't have enough mechanical know how (or income) to support an R32.

90% sure P platers can't do engine conversions. Could be wrong.

To be honest, I used to love the fact that my car was one of the quickest P plate legal cars on the road, but it really is a pathetic claim. My car will beat 99% of the P plate legal cars on the road, but even a lightly modified GTST will absolutely rape me. The difference between an NA Supra, Skyline, Falcon or Commodore is negligible when compared to a turbo car. I don't go around dragging everyone, this realisation came from my mate who is looking at selling his NA Supra for some kind of turbo car and the massive difference between the cars we're test driving and his car which we thought was quick is ridiculous. The diff is actually really, really good. Locks up well but when daily driving I don't even feel/hear it. Only time I can hear it is when I engine brake and even then its only a slight buzzing from the rear. I'm sure it make noise when under hard acceleration, but I can't hear squat over my exhaust at that point. My mechanic reckons a loud/clunky diff is often one that's been set up poorly. As for doing a conversion I'm not really interested still, I've already been through one 5spd and that was with my NA power, I don't feel like putting an extra 100kws through it. Plus I don't like Supra's much. In NA trim they're pretty sweet for a P plater, but the TT versions are all about big HP and no traction. Which don't get me wrong is great, but I'd rather something small and light I can chuck around. Like a Silvia.

What are your usernames anyway? I'm GTR (or [email protected])
-
Yeah, one Starcraft 1 and Warcraft 3 I ended up enjoying the custom maps more than the actual game.
-
If you want something different why not go down the AWD path? My mate and I test drove an Evo 8 on the weekend, it was nuts. The owner was obviously a skilled driver, but the speed he took these corners and speed traps in the wet was scary. The raw acceleration was mental too. Sure top end it might run out of puff, but shooting around the streets it was neck breakingly quick.
-
And he had the benefit of getting to test drive every single new performance car ever made.

Its fun playing with friends, but IMO 1v1 is where its at. It's a completely different game and comes down much more to micro and countering your opponents build. In a 1v1 even if they have the larger force using the high ground, base defenses and certain abilities you can hold off a superior force. Whereas team games seem to be more about massing your forces then overwhelming one single base.
-
That's irrelevant. We're talking 90's Skylines, not modern day GTRs. Obviously the way the worlds headed automatic transmissions have been come quicker than human manual shifting.
-
I reckon a lightly modded auto Soarer would make a great daily, except for the lack of doors and backseats. Very comfortable, a bit of fun and you won't hate it like a small A to B hatchback. Granted it won't be as great on fuel or cheap to buy/run, but unless you're doing a stupid amount of k's everyday I can't imagine it being too bad.
-
It all depends what you use the car for. For anyone who wants do any sort of advanced driving a manual is a must purely because it gives the driver far more control of their car.

Nice S14 or R33 GTST. Maybe a WRX if you want something different.

Scum Bag Trying To Scam Me
KezR33 replied to ClutchBurndout-:('s topic in General Automotive Discussion
Barlett v Sidney Marcus Ltd Facts: Prior to buying a secondhand motor car from the defendants, the plaintiff took the car for a trial run with the defendants' salesman, during which the plaintiff was told by the defendants' salesman that there was something wrong with the clutch and with the oil pressure gauge. He suggested that either the clutch needed bleeding or there was a leak between the principal and the slave cylinders. Neither of these would be serious matters. The plaintiff, trading in his own car, was offered the car at £575, if it were first attended to by the defendants, or £550 if he had the repairs to the clutch done himself. He agreed to have the clutch repaired at his own expense and bought the car for £550. There was a written contract. It included “Oil pressure and filter circuit to be checked. Clutch to be bled at client's expense.” Having bought the car, the plaintiff drove it for four weeks and travelled about three hundred miles without trouble. The car was then taken to a garage for repair, where it was found that the defect in the clutch was far more serious than either the plaintiff or the defendants' salesman had imagined. It cost £45 to put right. Bartlett sued for breach of the implied conditions of merchantable quality and fitness for purpose. Decision: The English Court of Appeal rejected the buyer's claims. son of rajab Denning MR said that a used car was fit for its purposes if 'it is in a roadworthy condition, fit to be driven along the road in safety, even though not as perfect as a new car'. -
Slightly off topic but I go to Adrenaline in Mornington (well, just started). It's similar to what rbj was saying, cheap and nothing fancy, but its a real hardcore gym. Nothing but free weights, power racks and a couple of treadmills in the corner. Apparently if you want to gain weight, build strength or bodybuild its the place to go on the Peninsula. The guys there are HUGE too, take the average big guy you find at your normal gym and he becomes the average guy at this one. There's no women either (they're allowed, the gym just isn't catered towards them), which is good and bad.

Reason I dislike 0.00 is because of the next morning. Its so hard to judge whether you're sober and just hungover or still slightly under the influence. The 0.05 rule would be nice in those cases, damn P plates.
-
How much does it cost? And how friendly are they towards beginners? I'm literally going to spinning out on every second corner.
-
Nice drifting! How does the Supra fair out there? I'm guessing not so great due to its weight. Also what are these days like for absolute beginners? I've been wanting to get out and try drifting, but I'm unsure where to begin.
-
I noticed that too. I remember playing with a mate who's pretty new at the game. We were placed in Bronze League and every load screen we'd be up again players with profile pictures that indicated 250+ wins etc.
-
Really? Sorry for wasting your time then, that was a very long set of videos. I personally enjoy watching Starcraft commentaries, and thought that one was particularly entertaining.
-
I find it kinda boring actually, but for some reason I still usually log in once a day. Would be cool if winning car show prizes gave you experience, or some sort of better reward.
-
Cool thanks, what was I doing wrong?
