  1. I dunno what it is, but it's like NA Supra's came with v-tec or something. There is a very noticeable gain from around 5k onwards.
  2. Or this guy who put NOS energy drink into his motorbike: http://www.gixxer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=226570
  3. I love the Supra, as far as affordable (we're not talking about S2000s etc) P plate legal cars go I reckon they're about as good as it gets. I just hate my Supra. Mechanically perfect, but the previous owner was careless, and she really needs a new coat of paint. With regards to fearing the police, I was referring more to not making use of my LSD on the street. I've had cops blatantly lie about things I've done before just to make my offence seem 10x worse. I can get out to every DECA day, and I'll definitely try to make as many Winton drift days as I can, but beyond that I can't see myself really using the LSD more than 6-7 times a year? I suppose I could get into more circuit work, hell, even take it to the drags. An LSD with decent rubber would certainly help there. Thanks for the advice guys, I think I'll do it. I'll let you know when I do.
  4. Hey guys, Got a bit of a dilemma. I've currently saved up a bit of cash and am looking to spend it, but I don't know if I should. My choices are: by a 2-way LSD for my NA Supra, or sell it and buy a cheap daily till I'm off my P's. Now the dilemma isn't so much about buying the LSD, its the thought of "wasting" more money on an arguably slow car that I won't keep beyond my P's. I've got friends who've thrown their entire savings into NA cars only to lose it when they upgrade to the turbo variant, or waste more money converting their NA. The Pros: I've still got two years left on my P's, and buying a nice 2-way LSD will pretty much be the last piece needed to make my car a good track/drift/drag machine (actually it needs better brakes pads too - more money). Without it is almost pointless going to DECA, the track, etc because the open diff makes it so unpredictable. It'd almost be the perfect car to learn in, enough power to drift, but no so much that I'm wrestling the said power just to keep it under control. The Cons: Expensive, $2k all up including installation. Car is essentially a POS, needs a respray and in the grand scheme of performance cars an NA Supra is slow as shit. 2-way is potentially dangerous on the street. 1.5-ways aren't made by TRD and its significantly more expensive to buy other brands. Can't do the turbo conversion on my car. I'd need to upgrade the gearbox first and the 6spd box costs more than the turbo engine. Will I actually get out to the track enough to make use of said LSD. I've had enough trouble with the police and am pretty much too scared (even if I had the desire) to "hoon" on the street. I dunno, hence why I'm here. I'm very tempted to chuck the LSD on it and go out and have fun, but it seems far more sensible to sell it (or even keep it as is) till I'm off my P's then buy a nice Silvia or GT-T which will out perform my car any day of the week, even if I were to spend big bucks on mine. Appreciate any advice.
  5. Hey guys tried to make this but I was just too exhausted. I've been doing 6am starts all week without time to adjust (I normally do midnight closes) and then after some drama last night didn't manage to get to bed early like I'd hoped. Bit of a weak excuse I know, but I'd probably fallen asleep at the wheel if I tried to make the 3hour trip.
  6. Definitely getting it built, wouldn't have a clue where to even begin on my own.
  7. Thanks for all the advice guys, think I'm going to go with the package bozodos suggested. Is there any decent things I should be considering upgrading on that package? Also looking at getting that LG w2343t-pf monitor as its pretty obvious there's no point having this great machine without a monitor to keep up with it, and all the reviews I read for it said it was a great screen for its price. Cheers.
  8. What about this one? https://ipspty.com.au/index.php?comp=amd-pricebuster It's only $900 or so, but it uses an AMD processor - is that a bad thing?
  9. Hey guys, I don't know much about computers, but I'm looking to buy a new PC so I can play the new Starcraft and other modern games avaliable (or soon be released). I want to run them all well, but it need not be a powerhouse that can play everything on full graphics. I've been looking around a budget gamer PC builds, but I really don't know what exactly I need or when its worth paying more to upgrade. I came across this one: https://ipspty.com.au/index.php?comp=i7-pri...ster&tech=1 Which seems okay, its around $1250 without any OS. I was hoping to spend no more than $1500 for the tower alone, I can supply everything else. Could anyone point me in the right direction towards a good supplier, or even recommend me a pre-made PC like the one I showed? I'd greatly appreciate it. Cheers.
  10. Hey guys, I'm looking to purchase an LSD for my car in the near future. I was hoping to get a 1.5 way, simply because I don't have any experience driving a car with an LSD, and this is my daily driver too. However all 1.5 way (and 1 way) LSDs are significantly more expensive than the TRD LSD, which only comes as a 2-way. My question is, when driving if for some reason I get myself into a stick spot if I put the clutch in will the car settle down much like a 1-way LSD? Thinking about it logically there's no power going to the wheels, so even under engine braking they should unlock. Right? Thanks, Kieran.
  11. Stateroads is excellent. My mate had an R34 looked at and not only did the guy know everything about cars (obviously), but Skyline specific too. He could tell that the gearbox had been poorly rebuilt and that it was missing some factory seal (can't remember what it was).
  12. I told him the exact same thing! He was going to get a G-TT when he gets off his P's in 12 months, but needs a car ASAP as his other one died. So I said, get an R33 GTS, come to a few DECAs, enjoy it, trash it, learn it and then move on a more powerful R34. Seriously Josh, do this. If you get a 33 you will treat it as a temp car and not spend heaps on it. If you buy the R34 you know you'll spend money on the sound system, cosmetics, etc, and lose heaps when you do upgrade to the GTT.
  13. Probably a bit late considering its been out a while, but I just picked it up for half price the other day and simply put: its awesome! Think of it as a first person shooter version of Diablo. There are literally millions of different weapons and upgrades you can find. Whilst I'm sure I'll get bored of it eventually, its providing my mate's and I hours of endless entertainment. One of the best co-op games I've ever played, and runs every well online. Highly recommend it.
  14. Like I said Josh, call this warehouse and ask them if they supply any warranty for their work. Find out if the gearbox is being replaced or just re conditioned, if its being replaced (with a decent box) AND they provide some sort of warranty you shouldn't have too much to worry about. In the mean time, keep an eye out for new R34 GTs. They're always popping up.
  15. No way you're getting me onto the track surrounded by heroes in the wet. Apparently its going to be sunny on Friday, Sat and Sunday so we should be right.
  16. Yep, this is what I do. I drive it nice and easy, feel the gearbox, the steering, listen for noises etc. Then I ask the owner to "show me what its got", usually gives a good idea what sort life its had with the previous owner too.
  17. Let me add to this: I hate assholes who ignore the banked up turning lane, drive all the way to the front then push their way in at the start of the turning lane. I hate idiots who let them in even more.
  18. I laughed at the handicapped parking.
  19. Damn that's a big hit! It turned your R34 and into a R33! Seriously, it looks like a 33 in that picture. In all seriousness though, I'm glad to hear everyone was okay.

Yeah mate, expect to lose your license for 6 months minimum. Maybe defer and work locally for a semester?

Like I said, get a lawyer and take their advice. The other problem with fighting it is its incredibally stressful! It's something easier just to take it and know the worst has passed. Mind you I had a serious assault charge against me too (bullshit too) which could've seriously impacted my career, etc. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Do...th-t246501.html Have a read if you're interested.

$900 fine and license canceled for 6 months. Canceled means you start over again on your P's.

I had a very similar experience. Best advice I can give is dress well, bring your entire family, get statements of social character (or whatever they're called) from employers, teachers, etc and get a good lawyer. The magistrate at my court hearing basically took all the above into account and came to the conclusion that I was not the typical hoon and even if I did do what the police officer claimed it was very unlikely that it'd ever be seen in court again. Still got punished, but no conviction, and in the end that's all I was hoping for.
  24. This is your fault you realise? You've had 4 years to get your P's and you leave it till the last minute. Anyway, when it comes to reverse parallel parking you do realise you have like... 3 meters behind and in front when they do it? It's not like your everyday parallel park, they give you a HUGE amount of space. All you need to really worry about is hitting the curb.
