  1. I'll be there. Here's hoping I don't die.
  2. The Bride is FIA approved I thought. Good point about second hand seats though, I never considered that.
  3. Hey guys, I'm in the market for a new seat for my 180sx. The car is registered but will rarely be driven except from Melbourne to Winton, Shepp, etc. This means the seat needs to be somewhat comfortable for the long drives. The seat also needs to be fixed back, low mount, have high sides and be able to accomodate a 5-6 point harness. Only other issue is I'm quite skinny (183cm 68kg with a 30-32 waist), so I need the seat to be quite small. The current options I have in mind are: The Cobra Suzuka: Cheap, I've sat in it, it fits me pretty well and is fairly comfortable. http://www.revolutionracegear.com.au/index.php?PCID=10422&PSO=245&PSID=4663115_20&PSV=Primary&CDO= Velo Podium II: Expensive but I've only heard great things about this seat. Never actually sat in one though. http://www.velo.com.au/itemdetailspage/31934 Bride Zeta III: This seat is fairly cheap, but needs to be imported from Japan (works out to be similar to the Velo). Again I've only read fantastic reviews online, and its apparently a very tight seat which would suit someone slim like myself. http://www.nengun.com/bride/zeta-iii-frp Do any of you have any experience with the above mentioned seats? Of course I'm open to any other suggestions you guys might have. I'm also willing to buy second hand, but I don't want to buy without sitting in the seat first which means it must be located in Victoria. Thanks.
  4. Was nice meeting you mate. Might see you around at some events.
  5. I wish it were that easy. Anyone have rims that are 17" or smaller, will clear the 6 pot front brakes and won't stick out of the guards? As for the rest of it, I just sourced most of the stock parts I need and we're putting it back to standard. Intercooler and brakes are the biggest issue, but I have all the parts so its just the labour to swap it over then swap it back.
  6. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Recaro-racing-bucket-seat-Black-Custom-Skyline-Evo-Subaru-WRX-STi-s13-s14-s15-/321101552407?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4ac324db17&_uhb=1#ht_500wt_1414 Seems very cheap if they are brand new, genuine Recaros. Probably fake?
  7. Your car is stupid quick. I keep telling the boys it was their drift pig that inspired me to buy a 180, but really it was that 80% run. I left DECA knowing I had to buy one.
  8. I'll probably swing by in the morning and run my new car if there's space. can't book now because I may not be able to.
  9. Awesome car. My melted shoe sole from bracing myself against the stripped firewall is evidence of said awesome.
  10. The shop we took it to which has a reputation for giving easy RWC knocked it back on the fact it had big front brakes without the engineers cert. Reckon I fix everything else and take it elsewhere?
  11. Hey guys, I'm about to buy a car but the seller is having difficulty getting a rwc due to the modifications. He's offering a significant discount if I take it without a rwc. I don't fully understand the rwc process. One of the main issues on this car is that it has upgraded brakes and no engineers cert for this mod. If I were to get a rwc from a shop, what would they do? Replace the standard brakes, sign a form, then put the upgraded ones back on? What's to stop them from simply saying the brakes were standard when they signed the form? Is there a way Vicroads can police it or check it out? Can anyone provide some insight into the process? Cheers.
  12. This was honestly one of the best DECAs I've been to, and I didn't even drive. That hotel is 100x better than the Tirana; spa and sauna were awesome. Thanks to all for the passenger rides. You've convinced to buy a car ASAP. Meg wants to send you a special thanks to you too Simon. She found a very pleasant surprise in her photo album.
  13. There's this one guy at my gym that literally grunts/yells during every rep, even on smaller lifts. He also likes to yell at the mirror before a set to psych himself up and congratulates himself loudly at the end of sets. There was also a similar guy at my old gym that used to announce loudly to the gym what weight he was about to do "90kg! Come on! 90kg!" I also had this one guy come over and tell me that his squat was like mine 3 months ago, but keep at it and I'll be able to squat as much as him. He then proceeded to load up the bar and did literally the shallowest squats I've ever seen, to call them 1/8 squats would be generous. Finally I hate people who deadlift pathetic weight but slam it down as if to show off how heavy it is. Yes 100kg will make a lot of noise, no its not an impressive deadlift.
  14. I might go to this, even though I'll be the weakest there (and I include the women in that). It's an excellent opportunity to get a benchmark of your current strength and then better it at the next comp.
  15. Sorry to drag up past topics, but where can you find Converse Slims? I looked in a couple of stores over the weekend and none stocked them, nor could I find any on their online shop. At least none that look as slim as the one TTT posted.
  16. I'll help out.
  17. Stop doing 3x8. Shock your system and start doing 5x5, 6x4 or 4x6. (~25 total reps being the golden number).
  18. Just have to register on their forums then wait for approval.
  19. I love CV, I play with TOG and we're on there all the time. As for BMRF, just google it.
  20. Hey Markos, Just wondering why did Martin walk the weight out of the monolift?
  21. Terraria, Minecraft, ArmA 2 (Day Z and Wasteland), Baldur's Gate, Knights of the Old Republic or Chivalry. All fairly cheap and excellent games available on Steam (Minecraft isn't, but its still excellent).
  22. Nothing good happened last year really. Had my appendix out in Feb, so I took 3months off lifting and lost pretty much everything. Then after I got back into training for a month or so I broke my wrist, badly. 6 months later and its still recovering. Currently training again, squat and deadlift are coming along nicely (muscle memory is a wonderful thing), but I'm not benching at all.
  23. Also try playing Wasteland if Day Z is growing stale. Thousands of cars each containing a random weapon spawn all over the towns, into which you spawn randomly. Along with tons of "materials" which you can move around, load into cars or tow to build ridiculous Forts, road blocks, ambushes, etc. Random objectives spawn on the map too, such as tanks or choppers which require fuel and a repair kit to move. There's always tons of action as people all over the map swarm to these locations to get the goods and if you die, meh, respawn next to a car with a gun and get back into it. Great for team play too, you can go independent and team up with your mates or go solo, or join red or blue team and fight with randoms.
  24. You just need to play on a whitelisted server. Servers such as BMRF have almost no hacks (I've not encountered one on there in my months of playing on it), have custom maps with better loot spawns (fire station in Berezino, 1 barracks at NE, etc), more guns/vehicles and because they receive significant donations also run on the best servers money can buy. Which means no lag, no buddy spawn issues, etc. There's quite a few good ones out there. Getting whitelisted can be a hassle, taking 24hrs usually but well worth it.
  25. Hey mate, Can't make it to this DECA sorry. See you next time, Kieran.
