  1. Will a red car do?
  2. http://fantasticcontraption.com/
  3. I wonder if that's why Chris (guy in the white automatic Evo) did so well. He could just slap the triptronic this way and that regardless of the revs. Probably more to do with the fact he was in an Evo.
  4. My girlfriend loves an excuse to dress up and head out, I'll ask her what she thinks.
  5. Can anyone comment on how I was driving, with regards to treatment of the car and stupid launches (if anyone was paying attention)? I know I hit the limiter quite a bit but that wasn't on purpose, I was so focused on the track that the limiter was usually the first signal that I needed to shift. I'm not overly worried as I've heard NA 2JZ's are near impossible to pop, but then again I really can't afford anything major to go wrong either.
  6. Hahaha. I think the only point where I made that much smoke the first run through the long wang. I saw the finish sign as I was doing about 80kph and didn't realize it was a flying finish, so I mashed the brakes and then the tires in the process. Very cool photos though!
  7. Really? Oh man. I have absolutely no memory of that. I reckon I must have an NA liver too, should stop trying to keep up with you turbo guys.
  8. Those bloody fishbowls were more potent than they tasted! Although my last mouthful was 90% soggy popcorn, which quickly sent me running for the toilet.
  9. Yeah it worked mate, just went on a mass tagging spree. I honestly don't remember half those photos from the Taco joint.
  10. So I just attended my first SAU Deca skidpan day, and to put it simply: I had the most fun I've ever had in a car. For the record, I drive an NA manual Supra. I've recently purchased HPC extractors, HPC, etc to extra power, but I now realise I've been going about it all wrong! I've been doing reading on this board but it's all confusing me. I don't know where to start. I want to cut my times, get around the cones quicker, become a better driver and try and stick it to those turbo boys! I'm guessing most important of all are tires, but my current ones still have a lot of tread left and I don't want to replace them quite yet. So what next, suspension, and what part? I was reading some of the stickies and there are so many parts, pieces and aspects to take into account. Are coilovers the most important part? This car is a daily driver, so if I got coilovers I'd want them to be damper adjustable, and I've read that you do not want to go cheap on them. Is there anything I should be aware of or taking into account because I drive a Supra. They're rather front heavy (I think) and probably prone to understeer (I read that in a sticky ). I don't know really what I'm trying to say. I'm looking for help and advice, even if it is just a link to newbie suspension 101 thread. I've never really looked heavily into the aspect of my car and am unsure where to start. Appreciate any input, cheers.
  11. Get a Supra or 300ZX. I used to have an NA 33 and their is a significant difference in power. Can easily get 150rwkw with only extractors and a full exhaust. For the record, a JZA80 is the mkiv Supra, the same one as in my avatar.
  12. Where's the rest of it? That skid was nuts! Now I see where you got your plates from.
  13. I had an absolute blast guys! Seriously one of the best days of my life. Big thanks to all the organisers, volunteers and Micolour for putting it on. Will definately be back again in November.
  14. Mostly sunny with a high of 20! When I checked this morning it was a chance of showers with a high of 16, things are looking up.
  15. Quick question. Does the fire extinguisher have to be within reach of the driver, or just located somewhere within the car? Cause to be honest, if my car caught fire I'd be running the other way, not trying to save it. My life is worth a whole lot more than that thing.
  16. Put him after one of the Evos and then before the other
  17. Tell me about it! I discovered today my front bar is hanging loose on one side. No idea how, I didn't hit anything, or even grind it. I have a couple of options: 1. Buy a stock bar (one currently for $150 nearby) and fit that. Yellow with black bar, gonna be hot. 2. Drive up carefully, and remove it Friday night for the Saturday. 3. Cable ties and duct tape! Drift style! Low on cash too. Will prob take option 3 as the bar is sh*thouse and I don't really care if it gets ruined.
  18. Thanks cool. I won't say I saw any defects or anything, just saw a lot of flashing lights and cars being pulled over.
  19. Who wants to meet here at say... 7.30-8.00pm? Donnybrook Shell Just an idea.
  20. Didn't seem that way. Looked like they were pulling anything over that looked like it had a defect.
  21. I think you misunderstand. Essentially, everything was connected except the airpod. Which was only being held in there by the brackets. The air was still being drawn in further up via the open pipe which was just before the AFM.
  22. Gonna do a full oil and filter change. However I do recall late last night the car was idling strangely. It would idle fine for the most part, but then occasionally dip right down to like 500rpm and nearly stall before quickly jumping back up again. This whole ordeal has got me very worried.
  23. I took my car (NA manual JZA80 Supra) to the mechanics on Friday to get a clutch replacement. Friday night I just drove it home, but on Saturday night I when to the beast club cruise (a good hour away from where I live). I was driving with mates so it was quite a spirited drive, nothing major or illegal, but it wasn't sedated driving either. That night I probably used a half tank of fuel and did over a 100k's. I pop the hood today just to check the oil and notice that my air pod is completely disconnected. The piping that leads from the air pod to... I don't know what you call it, it's black plastic and leads into the engine block was just flapping loose. Even the black plastic piece that was connected to the block wasn't tightened. So far the car still runs fine, but I'm wondering what potential damage have I done with my spirited drive last night? And besides never returning to that mechanic (do you even need to pull that piece off to do a clutch?) what can I do to at least prevent further damage? Cheers.
  24. Lots of cops, the occasional dickhead, but all in all it was okay. When we were within about 5minutes of the place cops just appeared out of nowhere. Saw about 5 cars pulled over, another few getting pulled over, and whilst we were there we could hear was sirens constantly in the background. Like I said though, hoon behaviour was kept to a minimum. Didn't see any burnouts, some guys kicked the rear out a bit as they left, but that was the worst of it.
  25. I might come, but we won't make the pre-meet.
