Any other N/As out there? Preferably N/As without any prior racing experience. I think just about any battle I undertake will be a struggle.
-
Is SAU VIC membership a requirement to come? My mate wants to come along but he's already a member of an Evo forum. Does he need to sign up here too, or just pay the DECA fee? Thanks.

Pretty sure bricks make for very poor print sources, as they need a smooth flat surface. The rougher and uneven the surface the less likely they are to get an even print. To the OP; I had something similar happen to my R33, and I live in one of the nicest suburbs in Melbourne (Mt Eliza). They missed my windscreen, but put a huge 50c sized dent in my roof just before the windscreen. Took the paint off and everything. Panel beater told me the same thing; he'd have to remove the windscreen to remove the dent, and he couldn't garentee that he wouldn't break the windscreen in the process. I was quoted like $500-1500 depend on whether or not the screen broke.

Emailed the form! I'm both nervous and excited. Definately going to be hitting some of you guys up on driving advice because I've never done anything like this before.
-
Paid, will organize forms over the next day or two depending what must be done with CAMs, and SAU-VIC license number.
-
Hey guys, I plan on heading off now to to do a direct deposit for both my SAU-VIC membership and this event. I don't have my CAMs licence yet but will organise that too ASAP. Can I send the forms in without my CAMS license number (will email it as soon as I get it), or should I just wait a day or two to get it? Thanks. P.S. How much do helmets and fire extinguishers cost, and it there any chance I could borrow someones helmet on the day?

Probably out of your price range, but I highly recommend a Varex exhaust. I've had two now, and I cannot praise them enough. Roar, or stock Excel-like silence at the touch of a button. They're very, very effective.

Alright, I'm doing it. Just signed up to the club, payment pending of course, I'll sort the deposit out tomorrow. The whole weekend just looks like fun to honest, not just the driving. I don't have many friends who are car enthusiasts so it'll be cool to hang with people who actually want to talk about cars.

Is there any opportunity to come up, watch, and stay the night? I really don't feel confident in my driving ability at all, and would at least like to do an defensive driving course or something before attempting a proper event. I'd feel like I was wasting a valuable spot. Maybe after I've done something like this? http://www.driverdynamics.com/skidpan.html Anyone had any experience with this sort of thing?

Bugger it. I'm in. Even if I have to drive up all on my lonesome I'll make some friends and finally do some real driving.
-
So if I turn up in my NA Supra with absolutely zero advanced driving experience I'm not gonna be laughed off the track for putting slowly around as I learn the car, track and... hell, anything to do with racing? I've been wanting to get into this sort of thing for a while, but never knew where to start. This looks like a pretty good place. Are there any limits on the number of people who can come? I'm sure I can convince my mate to bring his Evo.

He won't be JUST getting his car impounded. When I lost my license they considered impounding my car. You still have to go to court though, that's a separate matter.

Best to be safe. Go for the 5"

Not true. a) Australia is an incredibly difficult continent to invade simply due to our sheer size. b) The Japanese never had any intention of invading Australia. After they had secured Port Moresby (mainly for defensive reasons) they planned on heading west through India etc.

How effective are these are making power? It was my understanding that a stand alone pod is probably worse than the stock airbox in our climate. As such I've been trying to source a stock box for my Supra. I'd considered making a heatshield, but figured the gain would be minimal, especially on a non turbo. Does the actual intake pipe help much? What sort of gains can be expected, like 5kw?
-
Excuse my ignorancee, but what is a CAI? Just a pipe that leads from the air intake outside the car somewhere? Does it mean you remove the air pod? Are they legal?
-
LOL, I'm not surprised. When I first saw that ad I thought to myself "If that was a Skyline spinning paint to pretty music it sure as hell wouldn't be on TV". Guess they're not total hypocrites. Still stupid though.
-
Yeah I always have a giggle when I see one pimped out. I think it's more due to the fact that NA Supra's and Skylines have much, much more powerful big brothers. Even though they're all slow as shit, they still project that image of "fast". Besides, they're FWD

Try this: Go to Wikipedia, look up the specs on the car you want (or just google car type + the word specs). Once you have the weight and power from factory, go here: http://webapps.vicroads.vic.gov.au/vrne/vr...pwcalc?OpenForm

Get a Supra! About the fastest legal car you can drive on your P's. 123kw per ton.

Custom Plates For Sale To Suit R34 (or Other)
KezR33 replied to KezR33's topic in For Sale (Other Items)
For the record, there are no fees attached to registering these to a car as the first registration is free. I'm unsure of the process involved in transferring ownership, but I can quite happy meet someone at Vicroads if they want and we can register it to their car then and there. Otherwise I can visit Vicroads and sort the paperwork out myself. -
So my aerial's been snapped off, and to be honest, I don't care. It was a dirty great ugly thing that threatened to take the eyes out of passing pedestrians. However, I can't get any reception now. Has anyone had any success with other forms of aerials? Like the shark fins, or the signal booster packs and just laying wire around the back window/parcel shelf? I'm pretty much looking for the most cost effective and efficient way to listen to the radio. Thanks for any input guys.

Hey, so this group buy ends in three months? Does that mean the product will not be delivered till then? If that's the case I'm certainly in, I'm just a bit strapped for cash at the moment to be spending it on unnecessary things at the moment. Give me a month or two though and I'll have plenty to throw around.

Hey guys, I've recently purchased an NA Supra. I'm looking to bolt a Varex exhaust onto it as I was really impressed with it on my 33. Now the optimum exhaust size for the 3L Supra engine is 2.75", but Varex only comes in 2.5" and 3" inlets. My question is, can I run 2.75" custom piping right to the cannon, then weld a 3" cannon onto it? Will this maintain decent back pressure, or will the change in size and pressure disrupt the airflow and potentially make things worse? Thanks.

Custom Plates For Sale To Suit R34 (or Other)
KezR33 replied to KezR33's topic in For Sale (Other Items)
They're $500 for new custom plates from Vicroads. The reason they're worth more is they're clever and unique. Trying to find original or clever plates from Vicroads that haven't already been sold is getting harder and harder. I understand that not everyone will see the same value in these plates, but if you are looking for nice, clever and original plates for your R34 $1000 isn't a large sum to pay, especially considering the price people are asking for plates on those plate trader websites.
