Yesterday I bought a car. The seller and I agreed on the price and settled it. However, I was unaware the the sale did not include the RWC, as his carsales ad stated. Which messed up our entire negotiation. We discussed and came to the conclusion we'd get it checked out and see what the RWC would cost and sort it out from there. He just sent me a message claiming he cannot get the RWC as it is too much hassle, and does not feel he should even need to get it checked out considering the low price we agreed on. My question is, should I take the car anyway at its bargain price, and sort the RWC out myself, or lose the deposit and run. From what I do know (we examined the car as we discussed the RWC): - Tyres are near new. - Windscreen is fine. - All lights work, indicators etc. I'm leaning towards sorting it out myself as the big killers (windscreen and tyres) are fine, but what other issues might I have to deal with? I'm just afraid of accepting the deal as it was and getting burnt with a hugely expensive RWC. To clarify, what I'm asking is a list of possible problems the RWC might encounter and their cost to fix. Sorry if I'm asking a lot but I'm under a time constraint too. Thanks guys.

Except you're wrong. Pre-2007 = no turbo restrictions. Still has the 125kw per ton restriction which the R33 GTST is over. I'd seriously be careful driving that car, because your insurance is void. You hit anything expensive and you'll have to declare bankruptcy before you turn 21.

Forgot to mention is has just 84,000km on the clock.

Was driving through Frankston tonight, and I have never ever seen so many "hoon cars" and cops in such a sort time. Within about a kilometer stretch I saw a booze bus, about 6 cop cars of various types (not including those around the bus) and a chick get pulled over. She was an in F6 Typoon. Stopped at Maccas for about 15min, and literally saw like 10 chromed P plate Commodores, half a dozen rexies, a pair of dressed 350Zs, two Skylines (one was a dark blue R34 sedan with SAU plates - I was in the White Evo) and a bunch of other random "hoon cars". Obviously I'm joking about the title, but is there really some kind of Tuesday night Frankston thing that I don't know about?

Woo! Got it back. Took the Terios out for a spin, but that car really such a let down. I have no intention to do any sort of spirited driving, but the Terios has the most sensitive clutch, has absolutely no guts and feels like it'll tip over if you take a corner at more than 20kph. Still, it's good to be out and about again.

Well, since my P's were reset and I'm forced to drive an NA for 3 more years (thankfully no red plates) I'm prob going to get an NA Supra, or NA R34 Coupe. Gonna drive like a grandma too, not that you have much choice in an NA.

Anyone remember this? http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Do...l=don&st=20 Well, it's been 6months, and I finally have my license back. 33 is long gone, but I'll be thrilled just to get out in my parent's Terios. Gonna test drive a few cars I've had my eye on this week too.

Buy my plates. I'm really not asking that much, and I'm in an especially lenient mood right now as I'm probably going to buy a car in the next month and could use the cash. After that I'll prob use them myself, and wait for a much higher price.

I was told this by a vet nurse who grew up with three. I'm pretty sure I'm going to believe her, and if you don't read this: "The Samoyed coat should be dried with cool, forced air (which can be done with a canister dryer, shop vacuum or blow or kennel dryer) as water can be trapped in the very thick undercoat, has difficulty evaporating and may remain in the fur for some time, possibly leading to a "hot spot." Drying the Samoyed coat will also reduce matting caused by dampness in the undercoat. It is important to rinse well, as any shampoo or soap left in the coat after bathing can lead to a "hot spot" or a fungal infection, which is difficult to cure without shaving the affected location." http://www.answers.com/topic/samoyed

Ah, I thought he did want an auto.

If it were me, I'd buy this: http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.p...howtopic=377881 Absolute bargain if you ask me, in terms bang for your buck all round performance, looks and practicality.

Right. So when you hit that brand new Commodore, or Beamer you're willing to pay $30,000 to $100,000 to replace it? If you car is a shit box, get third party, but make it a legal shit box.

I've heard they're similar to a V8.

Sneak Peek At Birrong Automotive's Drag R33

That hood is so rice! -
Same as any other car. So long as it has been serviced regularly and doesn't have an obscene amount of ks it should be fine. Have you considered how much fuel a little 1.3ltr rotary guzzles? They're not the cheapest daily.
-
Well, kit or no I seriously doubt many people expect to pull up beside a V8 S13. Not a subtle choice, but still unexpected.

Clearly I'm not the most mechanically savvy member, but I am learning. Anyway, can a turbo timer be put on a NA car? Reason I ask is cause I'm looking at what the owner claims to be a "non turbo" Supra with one installed. I guess it's just a little electrical device that keeps the engine running a few minutes longer? Does it serve a purpose at all on a NA car, or it just for the wank factor? Thanks.

I had an R33 NA manual. For a P plate car they're pretty decent. I mean, I still had fun giving it the occasional squirt, and it overtook easily, but it was by no means a drag car. If you want a good P plate safe car, buy a Supra. It's almost 40kw difference at the wheels, and when you're only talking about ~100kw on a Skyline it can add up to be quite a lot. The one I test drove surprised me anyway.

NA Skylines are cruiser. They look good, but that's about it.

This game is the ultimate time sink. There is next to know skill involved, once you understand the mechanics. To do well: pay the donation for the bonuses, then log on every half hour (get a sitter to log on when you sleep) and do the same things over, and over, and over. I highly recommend against trying this game. You will waste several weeks "building up" to what looks like a fun future, only to be disappointed.

3 points? How much was the fine?
-
I'm jealous. Should hopefully get my Supra (or maybe an R34) within the next month.
-
Yep. Bought my Skyline for $8500. Dealer offered $3000 trade in, not even cash. Threw it up on carsales for $7500 (needed it gone quick). Sold within 24hrs. Literally.

I honestly expected quicker. Don't get me wrong, it's F*ing quick and a beautiful machine. But it's a Lamborghini! I thought the world's fastest would be down in the 8's at least.
