  1. Chisholm Frankston is literally 50 meters from the Frankston station if you find driving too difficult.

    Spiders

Lived in Melbourne all my life, never seen one in the flesh. Huntsmans though, I see those f**kers everywhere. Seriously, I kill at least one per week.
  3. I'm doing a couple at Chisholm. You can still enroll but they begin within the next two weeks. Hobby panel beating. Hobby spray painting. Small Engines (4 cylinders). Hobby Vehicle restoration. Each is 3 hours per week 6pm till 9pm (most are on Tuesday, so you can't do them all at once) and go for about 16 weeks. ~$500 each.
  4. Anyone know if twin turbo GTO's are legal under the old P plate laws? They're 206kw but 1700kg which places them at around 120kw per ton. Always loved the car personally, but I've never seen a P plater with one.
  5. I love you. For some reason I thought it was on the official wikipedia.com website. I'm still under the old system, I can drive turbocharged cars so long as they remain under the 125kw per ton rule, but I wanted to see all that was available to me.
  6. So a while ago I stumbled across a wikipedia article listing all the nice cars a P-plater could drive. Had at least a hundred, from all different makes. I went to look for it again the other day and cannot find it any where. Don't suppose anyone has a bookmark, or know the exact title to search? Thanks.
  7. Heh. Tell your mate's it's one, then then put on a gay accent and tell the cops it's the other when you're pulled over. No offense intended.
  8. After all that hard work you should just buy an R32/33 with a busted engine and swap it over.
  9. My mate had to fill up on 91ron yesterday because apparently in the heat the petrol pumps can't accurately measure the amount of fuel flowing through the pump on higher ron fuel in high temperatures. That's what the dude in the store said anyway. He was out in woop woop so he didn't have much choice. Nothing more sluggish than an Evo on 91ron in the heat.
  10. For some reason I thought you meant a Samoyed. Now that's a high maintenance dog. I know someone who has three, and apparently if they get wet (not just rained on, but really soaked through) they can't dry off on their own. The moisture just stays warm and wet inside their coat and causes all sorts of infections. Really cool dogs though.
  11. Nice, I love the S15's, but I thought they were over the limit. Turns out I was looking at the 187kw NZ delivered ones. Another random question, where can I find these cars? Obviously private sales would be the way to go, but if I wanted to find a dealer to look/test drive both the S14 and S15 where would I go? I've never seen either at an import dealership. Thanks again guys.
  12. I always assumed I got my P's before the changes in forced induction came into play, but I recently discovered they had not. I need a new car, and don't have long left on my P's anyway. So I'd rather buy a nice car now and drive it legally, than buy a shitter, try and sell it, and then buy a nice car once I'm on my full license. Anyway, the old P plate restrictions were only 3.5l engine per ton and/or 125kw per ton. What I want to know is what turbo charged cars can I still drive? Is the kw taken from the flywheel (because that rules out a lot of cars, including R33 GTSTs) or is it from the wheel? Does anyone have a list of common turbo charged cars P platers used to drive? For reference, here's the official vicroads site; http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/Home/Licens...werVehicles.htm And here's the official power to weight calculator; http://webapps.vicroads.vic.gov.au/vrne/vr...pwcalc?OpenForm Thanks.

    What To Get?

If you want bang for your buck buy an automatic GTST R33. Can easily nab one under $10k. If you really want a manual then for the sedan. You run the risk of getting a lemon of a (manual coupe) GTST for 10k and under, and R32s are simply too old for a non car savvy driver like you or I.
  14. Did you get much trouble from the police or anything (did they even turn up)? I remember when my mate stacked his 33 due to negligence and nothing more the cops gave him the hardest time about it. Breath test, drug test, a million and one questions, etc. In the end he was charged with careless driving, which I suppose is true but if it had been a mum in a Honda Odyssey or something they would've just let her go. Anyway, sorry to hear about your car.
  15. Shit, it's Wednesday now, but anyway. Ask whether or not their attitude towards imports comes from experience, or is a general attitude that all police officers eventually pick up regardless of whatever or not they deal with imports on a frequent basis. I just don't understand why they hate "hoons" so much.
  16. He cannot be serious. That's hilarious.
  17. BNR33 and BNR34 are still available. Didn't check 32.
  18. Down the street is usually just the radio. On longer trips I like to pump trance on highways and such.
  19. Edited.
  20. Very true. To the original poster: If you think your biggest concern driving a forced induction car on your P plates is losing points then you're a f**king moron. What if you hit someone? Another car, or worse, a person? Could you pay their millions of dollars in medical fees? Don't say you wouldn't either, accidents happen. You'd have to declare bankruptcy before you even turned 21. No thanks.
  21. Know what the Judge and my Lawyer drilled into me when I lost mine? DON'T DRIVE WITHOUT A LICENSE. Seriously, the penalties are huge. I think it's a several thousand dollar fine the first time, and potential jail time. The second time is automatic $4000 fine, and one month jail.
  22. Uh huh... my CDs add 200rwkw too. Cause me to lose traction all the time.
  23. I remember going on the first date with my current girlfriend, a huntsman walked across the inside of the windscreen. I shat myself, but put on a brave face, calmly pointed it out and then killed it for her (it was in her car). Now that she knows who I really am she can kill her own damn spiders.
  24. Can you get naturally aspirated S15s? Wiki claims you can, the type S, but every single car I looked at on ebay and carsales was turbo charged, including all the Type S's.
