  1. Does any one know whom gives comprehensive car insurance for a standard R33 GTST for an over 30 driver at a fair price? I'm located in Melbourne
  2. I'm selling my 1990 silver 1990 model Silhouette Skyline. It was an elderly couples car from brand new. I'm the second mature owner being in my mid 40's. Has service books. It's registered until 21 September 2012 this year. Can come with RWC. It's in good condition but has a couple of marks on the bumpers. Loacated in Melbourne $3500 as is or a little more for RWC supplied Phone 0 4 5 0 0 8 8 0 9 9
  3. Serious offers considered
  4. I'm selling my black 94 model R33 Skyline It's owned for 3.5 years by a mature non-smoker (me) and is very shiny, clean, in good condition, and drives well. It is completely standard and has not been molested and with negotiation I will supply a rwc which I know the car will pass. I bought the car to drive around in but I then had a major motor bike crash which had me in and out of hospital for over 2 years which is why I never got around to registering and using the car. The car is Australian complied and has been registered in Victoria by the previous owner and I have the previous registration sticker. Since I've owned it I have never had it registered and as I don't use it except for driving around the block every now and then and as I own several cars and I'm renovating a house it will be sold. It is a turbo 2.5 litre automatic. As these cars are low getting in the car I always pushed against the side edge of the drivers seat which has pushed in a little. This is the only fault in the interior. The personalised plates do not come with the car. I am not swapping anything for this and will only except cold hard cash or bank cheque which will be released once funds have cleared. I'm asking for a reasonable price of $7,300. Serious buyers only please Cheers 0450088099
  5. Nissan R33 Skyline Black 94 Model Up for sale is my black 1994 model R33 Skyline I'm a mature driver over 40 and I've owned this car for 3 years and I (not the car) had a major motorbike accident when I purchased it and I never really got to drive it much. I have bought a house and need the money for renovations so she is for sale. It is untampered with and stock from the factory. Currently unregistered but in just about roadworthy condition and could provide a RWC if required for cost. The car is in pretty good shape for its age. Everything works well though I bought a new aircon pump but haven't fitted it yet so the aircon isnt working at the moment. Photos coming. Travelled only 149,000 kms Automatic Transmission Has alarm etc Inspections welcome Can be viewed in Glen Waverley $8,000 Cash on pick up or Bank cheque only (car released on cleared funds) 0450088099

  7. Any other questions, don't hestitate to call 0421055000 or PM me
  8. Have you got a RB25 N/A head?
  9. I'm selling my R33 RB25 Turbo engine Its in good condition though needs rings. I'm after $750 for it and I'm located in the outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne Has water pump, inlet and exhaust manifolds, engine mounts, Not all the bolt on are there...See pictures If you have any questions and your serious Call 0421055000 as I'm too busy to go on line all the time
  10. Does this solenoid need oil Pressure? If your trying to keep VCT and did this and the solenoid needs oil pressure to operate this gate, hence this is why its screwed into an oil gallery, isnt this solenoid at a dead end of the oil gallery so running another flowing oil passage off it as in tapping into it and running another oil line before the solenoid, this would relieve the oil pressure not making the solenoid work the VCT or is there enough constant pressure to operate the solenoid? I have never worked on a RB25 motor...even though I own 2 RB25 engines
  11. Very good idea to put this thread up...1 question is, which is the better shape piston to use...dish top, flat top or crowned top pistons? When I was building Cooper S engines 20 plus years ago I was lead to believe that dished tops were better because they captured the explosive combustion better not allowing as much blow force to spill over the outside diameter of the piston...(a bit like an upside down parachute) therefore producing more downward force on the piston creating more power...probably only marginally, but every bit helps. Also the shape of the dish helps keeps the piston more balanced and even under combustion load preventing less piston skirt wear on the bore. As I said, this is what I was lead to believe. And Mahle pistons were the ducks nuts (the best) of pistons to be used...then.
  12. I'm just trying to get to the nitty gritty and be explained technically why not use the rb30 head and how much difference are we talking about here. Is it marginal or is it like 40% or more in difference?
  13. Thanks, now I'm getting to the nitty gritty of it. If I did go rb30 top and bottom, I'm looking at maybe porting the rb30 head (may include bigger valves) and regrinding the cam specifically the exhaust lobe to make it open longer and/or higher to help get rid of the exhaust to assist the turbo spool. Shouldn't this now be in par performance wise with fitting a rb25det vvt head? Yes? I know If I did the same mods to the rb25 det head it would probably go a bit better than the rb30 head but it would also cost me the use of the head (which I may sell the rb25 motor) and supplying an extra cam which would be more expensive than modifying the rb30 head to the level I explained above. How much maximum power can I expect with the rb30 head mod I plan above and how much could I expect if I went 30/25det with vvt keeping them both bottom ends standard crank fitted with forged H beam rods and forged pistons? How much difference are we talking about here? Is it marginal or is it like 40% or more in power difference between the 2? Can I use my rb26 pistons in the rb30 bottom end with standard crank and if so what compression ration would I get with either rb30 head or rb25det head fitted? . .
  14. Based apon my thread named "Which RB engine combo?" I'm looking at building a performance RB motor out of the bits and engines that I already own. Here is the list; RB30 engine (non turbo) complete RB25DET complete (worn rings) RB26DET rods and pistons (only) Do I start with my RB25DET engine and work it or the RB30 and work it and say put the RB25DET head on it? Surely I dont have to use the RB25DET head on the RB30 to get 300plus rwkw? I know the RB26DET rods and pistons fit into the RB25DET but do they also fit into the RB30 crank and block as they are all the same bore size? Im not wanting to spend to much money but prepared to spend some money of course for extra performance bits. I'm wanting to get as much hp as possible and still use pump fuel and have boost under 20 psi. Any other suggestions? The engine will be going into a 1970 fibreglass car (total weight 750kg) that has no loom for these motors so I may consider a carburrettor version of the above or obtain the appropriate loom/computer. ________________________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________ My latest thoughts Ok...why cant I just use a standard rb30 head (maybe port the head a little) on my rb30 block? What benefit am I really going to get putting my rb25 vvt turbo head on to the rb30 block with all the head ache and modifications needed to do so? Surely the rb30 head with some work done to it can do the job as well or better? The rb25 vvt turbo head is probably worth $700-800 at then I still have to change 2 cams in it costing probably $1500 plus in total. I only have to buy 1 cam for the rb30 head? So...the rb26 turbo pistons fit on to the rb30 rods and can then be used into the rb30 block. What compression ratio will this give me using the rb30 head?

  16. Ok...After doing some research, I hear that if you put the turbo RB25 head on the RB30 block it becomes very unreliable because of the modification of the oil hose connected from the block to the head can leak or malfunction. If this is the case and my source seems reliable, Im going to go for a complete RB30 engine with either lower comp pistons or RB30 turbo head. Either head will be ported with big exhaust cam lift. Any comments?
  17. If I did keep the RB30 head on it what rwkw would I expect? If the RB30 was completely standard, I dont care how much boost I run through it and blow it cause they are so cheap to buy.
  18. OK thanks for the input. I must be able though to get 300rwkw from a turboed RB30 and standard head with out having to put the RB25 Turbo head on? Also does the RB26 GTR rods and pistons fit into the RB30 and and crank?
