Spotted R33 GTR VSpec
Midnight Purple
mad looking car
Was driving behind it tonight approx 9.30pm on canterbury road in camberwell/canterbury
gave a couple of flashes from my hi beams

1. hicas light coming on and clunk = not normal, well at least my car does not do that...
im not sure what it would be but best get a good big service done when purchasing a gtr anyways. although if you have bought off an australian owner might be a bit of a different story.
i spend 1900 on new clutch, timing belt etc just after i bought mine, now runs sweet.
As for the group A, maybe check the VIN number on the net and see what you can find out

shame,
34 gtr seats are awesome

what have people paid for GTR custom exhausts
atm on the jj website
xforce dumps - 499 front pipe - 499 + cat 160
so thats like 1160 and i still need installation and a cat back
-
seems poor
my STOCK STANDARD gtr put out 156 AWKW
thats stock air box, stock exhaust, everything
-
^^ yeah thanks for the offer
but like you said for 50 bucks i might as well get some from supercheap
-
yeah i want it to be fairly quiet anyways
my s15 was loud as shit
and i want my GTR to be nice and sleek
going for a very very clean looking r32 gtr
atm its fully stock, maybe i should just leave it that way...

Im looking at getting some kind of axle stands or similar for my car so that i can jack it up and take all 4 wheels off the ground
whats the best option
ive seen like ramps you could drive up i guess, but they wouldnt work if you needed to remove the wheels for suspension etc
and with the stands where do you put them on on the car
are they safe enough to get under the car using these stands??
-
ive just done some more reading up on here about other custom exhausts
i was thinking of getting 3" the whole way
but seems like people are suggesting 3.5"
but, primarily, should i provide the dumps?(and possibly provide the cat too, if i get xforce dumps and cat)
-
The compressor's just a clamp which holds the coils of the springs. Go and grab a spring and squeeze it with your bare hands, that's pretty much how they work, but you screw it in with a shifter. I can tell you now that it's a pain in the arse to do. If only I had an air gun or something.
Where abouts are you located? I've got one you can borrow if you'd like.
im in canterbury
so its around camberwell/kew/balwyn
if i could that would be awesome
otherwise
ill just get one from autobarn or something
and then i can get some stands too so i can get under the car for other operations

A well made exhaust is a well made exhaust...
Not sure what you mean when you say a Jap one is designed for the car... custom made local one is also designed for the car, so its the same thing.
As long as its designed to flow, then it will is the be all and end all really.
Any decent exhaust place can produce work equal or better to the Japs.
My exhaust (locally made, custom mufflers the works) will flow over 350rwkw no problem and its 92dB at the moment, so damn quiet.
Other cars i know are making more than that, and similar noise outputs.
sounds like custom is in order then
do you think i should provide the dumps, or have the whole thing custom made??

Kakimoto R
Fujitsubo Legalis
Blitz Release TT
Apexi have made it before as well
Nismo
from the pics ive seen of the kakimoto and fujitsubo
they both seem to have cannon mufflers
unless they had the wrong pic on the web

Just get one made over here
do you think that a custom made exhaust would flow as well as a jap produced one
it may be a stupid question, but i feel that a hks or kakimoto may just flow better as it is designed specifically for the car.
i was thinking, if i got one made at an exhaust shop that i might use
xForce dumps and cat
magnaflow rear muffler
get them to make the rest, (front pipe, and catback)
-
I have a kakimoto one that is oval:
thats just what i want but they dont seem to have it for GTR
-
Im looking at getting an exhaust for my GTR
I think the kakimoto exhausts sound awesome
But im after something that dosent have a cannon rear muffler
anyone know what some other exhausts are, that dont have cannons, i dont think they suit r32's
-
im really trying to find an exhaust with like an oval (non cannon stye tip) and i cant seem to find any from any jap brands
im really after a hks, but they dont offer non cannon rear mufflers i think
-
i see
so how do the compressors work
do they like clamp down the shock or somethin
seems like a bit of equipment for 50 bucks
-
do you guys carry any exhausts with an oval style rear muffler (i.e. not cannon) for R32 GTR
-
Im going to try to install some tein springs onto gtr standard shocks
When i remove the hat, will the spring shoot me in the face
but seriously, is it dangerous
i know i need a spring compressor to put the fronts on.

I think someone else made this point in another thread similar to this.
HKS and the other similar brands from Japan spend so much money It's not funny designing and testing these of parts. There is no way your local exhaust shop could match the R+D that would go into their exhaust. If you can, get the name brand stuff. You usually pay for quality.
i spose you gotta ask yourself, how much research and development goes into an exhaust
-
is it worth trying to get all hks parts ie catbak and dumps and front
or
if i use xForce dumps and front will this still fit (line-up) with the HKS cat back??
